  • MANTAB LAH .....POKOKEEEE.

  • August rush is my best movie

freddie highmore my best actor i love you

  • so precious!!!

  • She plays a very good role in "August Rush"

  • My favorite movie!

  • How does an August Rush interview turn into an Irish British debate?

  • Obviously the interviewer hasn't listend to accents very closely (or even paid much attention in the movie), clearly in the movie the guy has an Irish accent, and even if you don't read accents well, it makes it more than obvious in the movie that he's Irish (his last name is Connely for freakin sake).

  • Keri Russell related to Kirt Russell?

  • i love her from felicity and grimm love. she's so pretty and natural :x

  • i love the movie you are soooo pretty

  • I'd drink her toilet water

  • She is hot but I wouldn't drink her toilet water!

  • @mourajini Why not?

  • "irish, not british dumbass. "

    Its 'Irish not English',

The Irish, Welsh,Scots and English are all British, because it's the British Isles...

Scotland, Wales and England make up Great Britain (because it's the physically bigger one) , but all the islands are part of the British Isles, a name of Celtic origin, from when us Celts had the whole thing (I'm Welsh)... then the Romans/Vikings/French/Germans all piled in and made England.

So saying British is legit, though Irish closer.

  • No, saying British is NOT legit. It is actually offensive to most Irish people to call them British. From Wikipedia:

"The term 'British Isles' is controversial in relation to Ireland, where there are objections to the use of the phrase and the government of Ireland discourages its use. Britain and Ireland' is a frequently used alternative name for the group."

  • It seems only Irish Americans take umbrage about it, probably because Americans themselves confuse 'England' or 'the United Kingdom' or 'Great Britain' with the 'British Isles'

In the British Isles themselves, where the current Irish, Scots, Welsh, Cornish and English live, we can tell the difference! :)

Me and my family are Welsh, Irish and Cornish... pure celt... I am British, but I'm not English...

Eire (Ireland is the English name)is part of the British Isles... Britons are the celts!

  • I agree that Britons are Celts, but from a political stance, the Irish are not British.

Maybe you're right and they don't take umbrage about it, but I'm sure they would prefer to be called Irish. Just like Canadians prefer to be called Canadian instead of American even though they live on the continent of North America.

  • That I can't fault sky7tree, I'd certainly rather be called Welsh than British, but 'British' is a lot better than being called English, as it's just a different nation... quite a nice nation, but not mine :)

Politically, all the Celtic nations have some kind of devolved government... Wales is likely to get an upgrade to a Scottish style parliament... a lot has changed in the last 10 years or so,

    Cheers :)

  • No we take offence with being called British - we're Irish!!! It's a different country, different culture, different lifestyle, different accents and theres a bloody ocean between us!!!

  • mccreed2, you're a Celt like me, we used to live in the entire of the British Isles (well apart from the Picts... where did they come from?)

In theory, the people who should be most offended by the term 'British' are the English, as they are not in anyway Celtic Britons from the British Isles.

When I've been to Ireland, the people are an open, friendly bunch, with a dark sense of humour... a lot like being home in Wales, just the accent's different and the Guinness is great :)

  • I totally understand. I'm american but I'd be offended if someone called me Canadian or something...and btw even though I'm American I could totally tell they guy in the movie was supposed to be Irish. The interviewer is dumb. LOL.

  • @sarahmyst

I totally understand. I too would be deeply offended if someone called me American "or something"...That would seem ignorant. Wait a minute - "or something" IS ignorant! That's nice. I'm proud to be a Canadian. (I know - you don't care)

  • i also felt the ending was perfect a hug would have been over the top and he just knew that it was them through the musci

  • AWEOSME movie. A real tear jerker. Ending could have been better. The actor Johnathon is pretty cute.. He's no Scott Speedman (Ben)

More of Keri and maybe a movie with Scott Speedman would rock!!

  • Great movie, kept me at the edge of my seat, amazing music and I agree they should have been a hug at the end or something, love it :)

  • i didnt like the ending of the movie, i think the son, father, and mother all should hug and stuff at the end it would be much better

  • one of the most touching movies..so much spirituality and heartfilled...i loved it sooo much and i plan on watching it again...it was great

  • keri russel has her sleeves rolled up! That's hot! :)

  • I loved the whole movie especially how it ended. When August turned around and looked at Johnny and Kerry, he knew that they were his parents. I always believe that "LESS IS MORE". To end it the way they did was just awesome. It was a long journey for everyone involved (10 + yrs) and nothing had to be said at the end 'cause everything came to together. Hollywierd would have ended with the three crying, etc. 'cause they would want a sequel: "August Rush 2". There's no need for a sequel.

  • I think the ending was perfect.

August knew who his parents were when he turned around.

    They knew he was theres.

    You could just feel it.

If they had added more to that, it would of ruined it, in my opinion.

  • A mi si me gustó mucho la película, no era necesario que le dijeran que ellos eran sus padres puesto que quedó sobreentendido, el se guiaba por los sentimientos supongo que por eso no llevaron la película más allá.

  • The ending was PERFECT

  • i liked that movie!!not one of the best movies ever made, but it was nice...plus jonathan rhys meyers is really sexy!!!!!!

  • I LOVED the movie, but I don't like the ending because it just kinda died

  • yeah, I felt the same way. I still loved it but thought the ending lacked some amazing emotional bang.

  • the movie is so great but i kinda of didnt like the ending

  • Me too. JRM didn't realise that Freddie Highmore is his son with Keri Russell.

  • I think he did actually. Liked the ending, but they could have like done more out of it.

  • Yeah-But I would have liked to hear Freddie Highmore calling them 'Dad' and 'Mom'.

  • mmm i'd have loved to have seen what happened after the concert to the 3 of them.,...amazing film though.i do like that you can kind of make up ytour own story as to what happened after it though

  • Yeah, I agree. Good point,Sazraz.

  • i didnt like the ending

  • lovee this mooviee! its so heart warming...and everyone in that movie seems relly nicee

  • this movie really liked me and all songs this film have to have an oscar was fantastic

  • I am in love with this movie.

  • August Rush!!!!!!!!!! Gosh,i just bought this movie from hmv and i'm really hooked,i was sobbing, excited and all and i've been watching like 10x already since day 1 and that was 2 days ago, i got lots of goose bumps when he started playing the guitar(Highmore). I wish i was a music prodigy too,i only play the flute but i want to be versatile. I just love this story, its superb, fantastic, and everything!!!!

  • The movie, the actors and music...everything in it just rocks...like a real softie it gets to me, love it!!! =>

  • That's true; any musician would spot her faking right away, but you have to give her credit on how hard she worked anyway. I'm impressed that she was determined to learn the chords and notes properly instead of just barreling through it and faking horribly.

  • I agree with abooeboo. I mean, i play violin and in the very beggining i knew that she was faking it. But she was great, i dont know if she knew a note before that movie.

This is such a fantastic movie! WOW ! It is so original and the litle boy plays so well his role!

  • I think you are wrong, because when I saw the movie I thought that she really knew how to play... It was really good...

  • my new idol! i wish more people in hollywood were down to earth like her.

she's gorgeous. if you liked her in august rush, go see Waitress. that's where i first saw her, and she was fantastic!

  • shes soo pretty and shes hotter in august rush!!! and shes good at the violin!!

  • dont you mean cello?

  • I love this movie... I love this interview...

  • I saw this movie last night and it was sooooooo good!!!!! it's like my new favorite!!!!!!

  • jonathon rhys-meyers is irish

  • fable? Fable is for animals. He probably meant ... a fairy tale.

  • jonathon rhys-meyers isnt british....

  • A very inspiring feel good movie. I love Kerri Russell and Freddie Highmore. Jonathan Rhys Meyers was great also. Robin Williams was great although I do not like him as a bad guy!

  • im going to marry freddie

  • I watched the movie last night and was blown away by it. It is fantastic, and a must own for any DVD library.

  • What a Excellent Movie. If You Have The Chance Watch It.

  • Keri Russell has more class and integrity in her big toe than Paris, Linsday, Britney, etc., etc., all have combined.

Wouldn't it be nice if all the brats in Hollywood would present themselves in a Keri Russell fashion?

  • yeah, natalie portman is like her too.

  • repulic of ireland is NOT apart of Britain!! why do people say that, so annoying......

  • this movie was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hermosa película!

  • Keri sure DID rock in MI:3, didn't she!

I just love Chuck's interviews, he's such a great guy!

When his subjects' eyes get wide and they smile in that "Thanks for noticing that!" way.

  • yeah critics are just so used to looking for stupid things like inner artistic quality and smart character development blah blah blah.. all that bull shit. but honestly, if the movie is able to move you inside, then that's all that matters.

  • Critics are dumb. This was an amazing movie, and i agree with russell, i love these types of movies too.

  • "i think its because he's british"

    HE'S IRISH!!! OMG hahaha.

  • ehm...well it´s Great Britain and Ireland belongs to Great Britain,so he IS british^^

  • Are you high? or just plain stupid?

  • no I´m not high,maybe stupid I don´t know

but my mum is irish and also calls herself british because it really doesn´t matter because it´s the UK and Ireland and Great Britain are in this, but whatever you say...

  • northern ireland is part of great britain. As far as I know Ireland was a part but isnt anymore.

  • The republic of ireland is NOT part of great britian, we're ALL irish!

  • I know but I talked about NOrthern Ireland. Even if Northern Ireland wants to be a part of IReland. Presently its part of Great Britain.

I understand why u say we r all irish but politics says something different.

But I hope the best for you :)

  • absolutly amazing movie

  • It is the British thing! I absoloutly agree! This movie was Bloody! Great!!! I loved the soundtrack of this!

  • i saw this movie and i loved it!!

  • amazing movie - i dont i have any words to describe the music. it was absolutely inspiring :]

  • I loved this movie and the music as well.

  • this was an AMAZING movie! the acting was great, the characters were very diverse and perfect, and the music... there are no words to describe how amazing the music is. its absolutely breath taking.

SEE THE MOVIE! if you haven't already

  • The musical score was AMAZING and beautiful I love how they incorporated the sounds into the music XD

  • Seen it earlier today. Loved every moment of it. My friends and I were literally shouting at the screen why JRM and Kerri Russel were standing in the crowd, we were all like, 'TURN AROUND!!!' Lol. Loved it <3 and Jrm... :P

  • just saw it great movie once more the the reviewers have there head up there ass

  • the ending was really good, it was very different and it prevented a lot of chessiness and normal happy endings

  • i saw these movie and it is so cool

  • was it good?? the new york times gave it a horrible review

  • I thought it was amazing. Much better than I thought. And the music was... magical.

  • it was really really good and you just got so excited because you could just imagine how happy the ending was set up to be...

the ending just didnt have enough closure. you didnt want it to end.

  • Thank you. OMG, I had like no idea how I felt about the ending. I just wanted to pour out in words about how the ending was kinda disappointing, and I would write all these paragraphs, but it got confusing, and you said it all for me in like five sentences. THANK YOU. That was exactly how I felt about the ending. Other then that though, this was definetly the best movie I have ever, and probably WILL ever see.

  • I saw it earlier tonight with my sister, and she didn't like it, but I loved it. If you love music and feel music than you will love this movie. I think those reviewers that didn't like it just couldn't feel the music.

  • i TOTALLY agree. the music was AMAZING.

  • the new york times is CLEARLY on the wrong here. Dont believe everything you read! Ugh, Im not liking the NY times right now!
