  • I must listen to this song atleast twice B4 I go!!! I first heard this when I was living in NY. A guy had just save a dude from freezing to death in the snow and it went like a craze...1999

  • Almost home... I wish. I used to live in the country, and this was almost like my life. it makes me cry because my father did this to us. My home is gone now. I'm not even eighteen yet. I'm not sixteen yet, either. I wish he had just left us alone. You don't know what you had until it's taken from you. Love your life before you loose it.

  • This song never fails to make me cry and smile at the same time.

  • If you can taste, feel & smell the scenery as this song plays then you must be a blessed person too. I grew up way down in the boondocks on my grandpa's farm with more cousins around than I can count. Then later I helped my husband combine in the most beautiful fields you could ever imagine. Thank You GOD. I did not realize then but I do now.

  • Love this song, but cant listen to it without crying. Reminds me so much of my childhood. Small town, country living. Dirt roads, hayfields, creeks, and yes Momma's cobblers. What a great childhood I had. Still live on that same road although its paved now. Still have hayfields and creeks, but sadly my mom passed 10 years ago. But, I have more to be thankful for than I can ever say "Thank You" enough for. Thanks for posting.Great job.

  • I've loved this song way before she sang it on X-factor

  • Some are Homeless because of Bad Choices. Others are by Choices of others. And some are Mentally Ill. However its not my job to judge. I consider myself a Christian. I try to live the way he commanded us all to live.

We are our Brothers Keepers. Christ said as you have done to the least of my brothers you have done unto me.

There is so much Greed, Bitterness, Indifference and little Compassion, Empathy, and Hope these days. Don't judge because you don't walk in their shoes.

  • @lazy4163 that is good, besides you can't tell whether or not their homelessness is a result of their choices or circumstances they couldn't control.

  • never watched x-factor. but some of the best times i remember, were on the river. ahot summer day. damn i do miss home

  • best fucking song !

  • sweet

  • Like this if this has been one of your favorite songs, even before you saw that lady sing it on X factor....

  • This is one great song makes you think.

  • What this song reminds me of, is that no matter what the person did or how he/she got where they are. At one time they had a family, hopes, dreams and better times. No one deserves to be homeless and the homeless don't need to be hopeless. Reach out people. They are your fellow human beings. But for the grace of God, there go I.

  • This is the best song of mental illness ever, EVERYDAY I pray not to wake up, I miss the me I could be. but am not................except in my dream's

  • @TheLunablue54 I been there, praying never to awaken again. Life can get better, but you gotta put in the work. All I can do is pray for you, and I will. Be safe, and God keep you.

  • I've known folks in this situation....Some by circumstance and some cuz that is what they chose......Whatever. Hold ur head high shawty...GOD loves all His children!!!

  • Yall are some fucked up ppl most those guy fought fer this country and don't give a fuck about the internet or phones so next time your gunna smart off you should fuckin think bout that and if u still feel that way somebody should put a boot in your ass

  • If u think about this song to much even the manliest of men will end up shedding a tear, I did I'm 14 and people say most teens don't give a f#ck about others (this is true)

  • This song is inspiring and very touching, and one of the only country songs I like

  • love this song

  • @drew81j88 God bless you and i know that God has something big for you. tough test of faith come along and i hope you can continue to move on strong with God by your side. Much love to you and i hope that you find a good place to land. once again God bless my friend...

  • Kendra William brought me here. She is so talented, god.

  • I do LOVE Craig Morgan, all his songs bring tears to my eyes, he knows how to touch hearts

  • i give money to the people who look like the need it, like vets, but the 20yo who bag for money with nothing wrong with them can kiss my ass.

  • When he reached the chorus, I just started crying.

  • RIP, Grandpa. You always loved fishing and now you can once again. My Grandfather had a stroke 8 1/2 years ago which left him wheel chair bound. He passed away 9/30/11. I know your not suffering anymore. Your home now and I am sure when you got your legs back you went fishing. :)) We all miss you and catch one for all of us. Love you Grandpa.

  • @free2fly174 that's such a great comment, you're to have known your grandpa mine died before I was born. Best of wishes to you and your family.

  • best country song right here

  • love craig- no homo

  • I'm sorry TruthTeller63 not TruthTeller163

  • @TruthTeller163 stfu lets see you go to war in Afghanistan and see how long you last stop making fun of the south because that's where most of the military comes from you ignorant pile of crap and it's bs that we couldn't survive in a winter snow storm because I have done it and never bring war into shit if you wouldn't go yourself and you should get out and get friend because obviously you don't have any or you would have the decency to keep to yourself about your little mood swings (you said

  • @DevilDog19971

Sorry that I'm replying a couple of months late. Please reread the comments--I was answering someone else. I agree with you 100%.

  • I love this song its my favorite

  • Malena Rene,

    I truly love you.

  • I AM FROM MISSISSIPPI SO I GET EXACTLY WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT WHEN HE MISSES THE SOUTH.

  • This song is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard.I'm 41 and have been seriously sick for many years, dreamt of being "almost home" many times.I have a huge wall up around me and it's because the ppl I have loved and trusted the most in my life have always been the one's that hurt me the most.Whatever God's will is for me, I will accept it with joy.The "little things"mean the most and we take it for granted at times.I don't think I ever will again..sometimes thats all we have left... <3

  • wow. . . . im so glad that kendra sung this on x factor because i wouldve never known that this amazingly beautiful song existed. . . made me cry. :)

  • Great song and very Powerful and Emotional message!!!

  • Wow truthteller63, I don't think you was in the army cuz for one, soldiers don't come back bragging about how many people they've killed, And to talk shit about southerns. Your a "soldier" you "supposedly protect" the southern people. Not suppose to talk shit about the people you swore to protect. Your a damn US soldier impersonator wanna-be. That's all I have to say to your uneducated ass.

  • amazing song i had to hear it after the x factor!

  • This song always makes me remember my days as a kid spending summers with my grandparents and cousins in Va and Carolina. Man I would pay a fortune to just relive those days. Mom and Dad and my Grandparents are all gone now. But I can still taste, smell and feel those days. Man you just don't know what is really important till it's gone forever.

  • i miss my childhood

  • If I had an amazing singing voice I would sing this song

  • this song is amazing

  • This song is the best song EVER! Feel bad for the homeless

  • This song was played at my cousins funeral, everyone cried 1:52 that place is down the road from my granny's house

  • Love it

  • like if you came to this video after watchin the x factor US!!

  • @Hellbound68 Kendra Williams sent me here =]

  • @zxjncope me to lol

  • I just heard this song on the radio and had to find it again. I love the meaning of it.

  • sometimes i really wish i was home ,love this song

  • One of my favorite country songs. It contains true meaning to so many of us people. *****@_@--@_@*****

  • this was my papa's favorite song :[ he died when i was in sixth grade, i missed the last day of school so go to his funeral. they played this song there, and i could'nt help but cry. i listen to it, every once in a while and it STILL makes me cry. i love you papa <3

  • this song reminds me so much of my grandad, its hard to hear it without tearin up

  • I love this song. I live down the road from calico creek. I have pictures of it at sunrise and sunset. I got to see craig morgan free in concert.

  • This was inspired by passing a homeless man being awakened by Metro cops in Downtown Nashville one winter when it was really cold out. It's to reflect on the dream he was engaged in before they woke him up.

  • @drew81j88 hope your ok Drew? best wishes

  • @drew81j88 why don't you get a job and find a place to live then... try losing the internet or phone bill if your going to be "homeless in a few months". or just get offline in general and go to work if you even have a job...

  • @martyleakey21 Finally! Someone who doesn't feel sorry for this, bum!

  • @martyleakey21 if you havent noticed dumass since your messiah (obama) got into office jobs havent exactly been easy to find

  • @martyleakey21 WTF is wrong with you??? Do you know anything about the United states economical situation. If you Don't have a college degree it's next to impossible to find a job and if you made the mistake of dropping out of school then it is even moreso. Don't say anything about getting a GED either, because I've looked at the test and at least 75% of high school graduates would fail that test.

  • @martyleakey21 Yeah they offer classes but if you're homless how are you going to get to the class? Sometimes you have to pay for the class. Maybe @drew81j88 has a learning disability a drug addiction, or mental health issues. YOU don't know his/her situation!

  • @drew81j88 Oh im so sorry....let god be with you!!!!Good luck

  • i love this song because i live this life by craig ive been homeless in early 2003 and fixing to be homeless again in afew months its atough life but iiam a survior ive walk dirt roads walk pass feild thats just been mowed before and know what the song means too me its like iam living it again may god be with me on my next journey

  • FYI, I came to find this song and send it to someone...then I read all these comments underneath...have to go find a different version. The 'message in this song' is about caring that every person that you might want to stereotype for the way they are living are real human beings. Life somehow took a turn for the worst along the journey. But, the guy in the song still has faith that when the trials of living are over he will go Home! And he's dreaming of it as a better place than where he is.

  • I moved down south 6 yrs ago from up north and let me tell ya, 99% of the folks down here would NOT survive one mild northern winter..LOL They close schools down here if its going to snow.LOL Lord forbid it does snow and there is even the slightest bit of snow on the roads everybody panics and forgets how to drive not to mention raids the gas stations to buy up all the milk and bread in case the snow lasts more then a day..I have never seen a place so inept at dealing with anything winter.LOL

  • @souless08 I bet your fat but dies during our summers though"Lol"

  • @merganserhunter You do know we have summer up there too right? LOL Hot, humid and just as crappy as down south.

  • @souless08 Yeah,I just couldnt let you say that about us.(I apoligize)Although I will say it gets pretty cold in nc while I am sitting in the duck blind.P:S I dont know why we would be up there in yankeville anyways

  • @merganserhunter There is more southerners up north then you prob know of, just as there is so many northerners down here. In this day and age people from all over are everywhere...

  • @souless08 I moved down south 6 yrs ago from up north and let me tell ya, 99% of the folks down here would NOT survive one mild northern winter..LOL

Keep on telling yourself this, if it helps to cope. Yankees are basically nothing but weak, inferior, ugly little shits.

  • @TruthTellert63 Wow are you on your period? A little touchy about the weather aint ya? LOL

  • people. quit fightin. i lived in both north and south. and listen yes north is more city but has snow. down south can get realy baren. i live in the middle of nowhere. but realy! so what about how country a place is. it dont matter. its how country a person is that counts

first to fight last to fall

    jrotc

  • @dustydog13579 nice statement partner personaly ive always thought first to fight first to fall but what u said sounds good to

  • and it dont matter about the condition either man who cares about snow thats not proving nothing thats just showing what up north has

  • wtf?up north is more country theres just some yanks up there it might be country wide but naw the north aint more country than the south come on down here and find out aint nothing here but a buch of rednecks and rebels come meet us

  • wot is this song abot a bum an a drug

  • "Wish I was Fishin".

  • I grew up in Missouri, Cottonwood trees were the only things we could climb on xD

  • idk, makes me think of Erie, Pa. I hate florida

  • @Zosski27 florida hates you too

  • @theaustinwatson good then i got what i wanted :)

  • @theaustinwatson sorry my brother wrote back. Anyways why the fuck you gotta troll me? I literally since i moved here 7 years ago, i have not met 1 smart person of any education. What do I see? Old people, teens having babies at 16, spittin on themselves, cuttin wrists, suicide. Lovely place Florida is right? Half of Florida wants to get back to the north. We moved here to find work, we found nothing. North has everything. So take your saltine simple cracker ass outta my face and get on my level

  • @Zosski27 Florida is full of yankees to(Like your suck a dick gay kind). One of these day all you yankees will head home. And the south will be back to normal

  • @merganserhunter Your absolutely right friend, you'll go back to losing battles and teeth, and we'll go back to winning :) It should be soon though, don't worry pal, only about 4 more "easy spread" women to fuck here and I'll head back to a challenge. Thanks for the advice :)

  • @Zosski27 Its good to know that you are leaving :D.And if you arent leaving I will stomp a mudhole in you :D.Best of luck when you go back to sucking dick :)

  • @merganserhunter If you are afraid of dying then I wouldn't recommend threatening me partner. It wouldn't phase me friend, going through the armed forces and having to annihilate people for a decent buck and defend this soil that you think you can spit your wisdom about. My own 2 hands have killed a slight number below 2 dozen people in Iraq. Trained sniper of 12 years, had explosives surround me, had to rescue my bestfriend who later bled to death. So if you think you scare me rethink you prick

  • @Zosski27 Well first of all thank you for your service to our country (If you actually served,I doubt it cause real soldiers/men wouldnt brag about killing men).Second:I never said anything to scare you.Third you wrote"Sorry my brother wrote back"Now if you are a grown man why would your brother be on your youtube acount??.Fourth If you are impersonated a soldier someone that protects this country,Then you are no more than a piece of dirt. :D

  • @merganserhunter And if you really want to know the reason why I don't like it here in Florida, it's because of the scene of things. It reminds me of Iraq in a way, sand, cracked roads, every once in a while broken houses, the heat ect... Every memory I had of Iraq I want erased from my mind, it makes living much harder. When you sleep (or try to) you have reenactments in your dreams. All I can think about is changing what Iv'e done there. Some lives could have been spared. It's sickening

  • @Zosski27 Once again thank you for your service.Sorry you hate florida,You should take up fishing for bass some real monstere in florida.Sounds like you have post-dramatic stress or something my saltine cracker butt cant spell.Just kidding I am pretty smart

  • @merganserhunter You think you are the biggest thing in the world because your from the south? Okay, I can arrange something. We'll ship you to Iraq, put a gun in your hands, and have you run through buildings with the enemy laying bullets and metal inches away from your head. We'll have you kill men and women, possibly children that return fire. Let's see if you even have the slightest bit of balls to show up. You'd piss your pants. Ain't no mommy and daddy gonna hold your hand here child.

  • @Zosski27 You think you are the biggest thing in the world because your from the south? Okay, I can arrange something. We'll ship you to Iraq, put a gun in your hands, and have you run through buildings with the enemy laying bullets and metal inches away from your head. Enjoy Hell, bigot.

  • @TruthTellert63 Gotta do what you gotta do assgoblin

  • @merganserhunter Let's see how fast you can run you little fuck. You feel like crying in the force, they will smack the hell out of you. You feel like resting your redneck ass down on a stump, they'll beat you up to your feet. If you try to defend yourself, you'll have the officer show you what a real stomping is all about. So if you think I'm scared to put one more bullet into a human beings head, you know nothing. You know for a fact you'd piss your little underware. You just can't admit it.

  • @merganserhunter It was never my intent to brag. Killing men and women is never something to be proud of. My brother lives with me because, well he's 19 this is his account. I actually got back roughly 3 months ago. I missed my father's funeral, and years of my son's growth. I'm 26. My mother is also living in my house because she was diagnosed with cancer and I don't want her too far away. When I did move here yes I saw mostly bad. Moving from hills to flatland is hard. This was my song in Iraq

  • Respond to this video... Almost Home

  • @merganserhunter That could help. Actually a Snook and Reds kind of guy personally.

  • @Zosski27 Never fished in the salt much. But I love fishing for bass and sometimes catfish. But I hear gulp shrimp are deadly on reds not sure about snook though.

  • @merganserhunter yeah i think the soft baits are gary yokamoto (i don't know for sure, something like that) the snook are slammin on the lures in punta gorda, the reds in west wall. Usually the bass at the dam are alright, nothing major. Still have yet to catch a tarpon, still wanna see a marlin up on the boat as well, but i don't think that's ever going to happen. Guess I'll just stick with rebuilding classic engines lol

  • @Zosski27 Well I dont know much about saltwater fishing but here in NC I fish slow moving blackwater for bass and catfish and my favorite sunfish a warmouth.I have never caught one but I know people who have caught bowfin and they say they fight like a champ.I believe they have them in the everglades of florida.I have always wanted to catch a smallmouth bass, got to do that last month in the mountains of nc it was awesome. And tarpon sounds like fun.

  • and by the way the north has more country than the south. even new york has its prairies. You guys think mud, paved roads, quads and fishin is country? You aint got no clue. go to Erie and meet the dirt roads and wide open tractor fields.

  • @Zosski27 i absolutely agree. im from wisconsin and there is way more country than people know. its full of hard workers and farmers it dont get more country than that. the south just has a bunch of hillbilly fucks

  • @ligtningXXprideXX amen bro. half these ppl never seen snow, or know how hard the conditions are up north. its easy to crow a flat plain, but once they try to plow uphill at a 30 degree angle, they get confused. more power to us

  • love this song can`t get enough
