I have an AMD Phenom II X4 3.6 Ghz overclocked to 4 ghz and 5 gigs of RAM. I think you're being bottlenecked by the processor a tad bit.

i bought a XFX 750 sli, i sent it off to get repaired. 2 weeks later i get an email from them saying their sending it back because of physical damage. both batteries on the motherboard were "apparently" bent. which is complete bull. when i got it i dusted the batteries for finger prints, both batteries had the same fingerprint. they did the physical damage to it so the warranty would cover it. don't ever buy from these criminals again. scumbags

Its a great card at $100.00 but as of 8/2010 its getting into its third year now. Its incredible how well this card does in its third year. It will play most games but its working its ass off to do it. That means more heat and power and failures. No real difference in the 1gb and 512mb benchmarks this cards time is over. 5700 series for the value/performance hunter with DDR5 and Direct X11 and it will do as well as its predecessor series. One hell of a run for the 4800 series. Well done ATI.

@daydayhyphy type in radeon 4850 at newegg. they have em for $99. hoped that helped. the xfx version is $124 but you get a free lifetime warranty (just easily register your product) the warranty is easy to claim if anything does happen. trust me. i dropped my card and the pcb broke and they took it back no questions asked and gave me a fully functioning one. hoped that helped.

@KRandMJ If your motherboard has at least one PCIE slot and a 400 watt or more power supply then yes, your computer should be able to accommodate a 4850. However, the XFX 4850 goes for about $150 on Amazon. At that price range, the newer 5750 and 5770 are better. Then again, other manufacturers offer 4850's for $100. If you dont care about heat, power usage, and directx11, then you'll be plenty happy with a 4850.

@saikimimaru It is if directx11 isn't a concern. With an overclocked 9800gt, a friend of mine can max out CODMW2 @ 1680x1050. The 4850 is even better and should power through games below 1080p. Personally, I think a 5750 would save you money in the long run since you won't have to upgrade to a dx11 card. Here's hoping ATI price-cuts the 5830 and the 57xx line accordingly now that the superb gtx460 is out.

@VerDad1818 4850 gives 5-15fps more in games, and in source games you may receive more. Price-wise, the 9800gt is a cheaper version of the 9800 models but with a rather big performance loss.

@VerDad1818 The 4870 pairs along with the 260, may be a few fps less though. Honestly if you want a high performing card within a smaller budget, the 4800 series is the best. Also if ever in the future you want to crossfire, you can pair a 4850 with a 4870 or a 4890.

Hey guys, I have a question. I have a 450W PSU (Apollo Computer brand :( pretty weird) with 18A in the +12V Rail and no PCI-E 6 pin connector. I have had nothing but great headaches with a piece of crap card like this one. ATI is just brutal when it comes to drivers, I've literally spent 50 hours trying to make the shit work. I've even gone as far as tried changing the voltage setting for PCI-E in the BIOS, nothing, nothing works. I will just return the card and never buy ATI again. Google ATI Radeon cards and the stripe/ line crashes and you will be surprised how many are affected.

@iGib707, you can get by with 400w for this card. The card alone pulls 132watts (full load). The bigger your PSU, the safer youll be. MB generally uses 100w, CPU 65+. Something to think about. Ive got this card now and used it with my 350w, no issues. But Ive got a 550w now. This card is insane at FPS. If you dont need DX11, get this!
