I only choke mine to start *if* it needs it, and if it does, I switch it down until it idles just right, so when I come to a stop sign, it won't die. But once I'm out of the subdivision and out on the open road with no stops ahead of me (1/2 mile or so) I switch it off completly. 78mpg on a 25 year old bike, with no engine modifications.
I ride a klr 650... After watching this bike, mine may as well be a ninja... The rebel sounds like a weedeater

I tend to choke for about a mile when hopping on the bike. The rebel is known to be rather "cold-blooded."

I think all Hondas are. Mine is way older than yours, and it is, too.
