@karlakor The people that colorized these stooge shorts made every attempt to colorize everything correctly. They evidently got a hold of original costumes, looked at notes and scripts, even going so far as to look up old lables on cans and bottles. The fact that curly's uniform is red isn't suprising, since they were making fun of Hitler and the leaders etc under him, even though the stooges never knew it would be seen in color.

@american2015 I didn't know that! I'm glad to hear that these films were colorized with every intention of getting the colors right. I had assumed that the colors were chosen rather arbitrarily by people whose only concern was to "modernize" these black-and-white films. I often see major Hollywood films colorized in such a way as to make me wonder why shades of green and pink seem to dominate their color choices, but these Stooges shorts look great! Thanks!

Love the CONGA that kicks in at 6:11--a funny bit that really enlivens the scene; watch Cy Schindell (who plays "Chissolini") on the right end facing us; he's really enjoying it. The colorization on these shorts is incredible--it truly does resemble the Technicolor process that would have been in use at the time these were filmed. Lots better than the early colorization jobs of the past. One of the Stooges' best!
