  • Can someone please tell me how this did on the charts? I know it was pretty big in the summer of '86. I can't understand why in the world we don't hear this anymore. Lite stations have totally given over to Michael Buble and stuff that would have been considered mainstream pop back in our day (God, I can't believe I'm old enough to use phrase "in our day"). Also, was there an actual video to this song?

  • @Amity197111 You know what, I can't blame you. Music from my era is generally shallow and questionable, often going on over-sexualised tangents and the "high life". I mean there are a handful of artists or bands out there that are still deserving of the recognition, but still... I'd rather be born in the 80s, when music was still music, when Pop was actually about having good fun, and not "drankin'" and "mo' money".

    I'd recommend Robin's earliest album. The new ones are ok. He's more R&B though.

  • Carl Anderson is gone about five years. He was living for some time with leukemia and I assume that was the cause of death.

  • just a pretty, pretty song....and strangely enuf, the melody pulls at my heartstrings the same way that "Just You adn I", by Eddie Rabbit and Gayle, does....there must be similar chords in both songs or something, cuz Im almost inclined to think that there both one in the same, when I hear 'em. Carl was a great flat footed singer and Gloria REALLY stepped up her game, next to Anderson. I'll always like this song, no matter what..

  • I was Carl Anderson's east coast guitarist, he was from VA. The original Judas (A.L.Weber). Spent many nights at the Lynchburg Raddisson, eating sushi at 3 a.m. He used to call me his "little white guitarist", his brother discovered me playing for a beauty padgent at age 17, phoned Carl and we were friends until his death. I was watching family guy last night the song brought back memories and a few tears. RIP Carl

  • @Genetxt yes, they are the original singers of the song...Gloria and Carl, BUT they are lip synching to their own recording of it...it's a farily common avenue for shows like Solid Gold, American Bandstand, etc.
