im afraid i completely disagree with you there. Government ministers have attempted to persuade the BBC to show the DEC appeal, but the bbc refused. Chanel 4 is very similar to the BBC in that it was established by the government as a public broadcast network. C4 has shown the DEC message. This is soley a BBC issue and has nothing to do with the government. If you want to research more, look up the video on youtube of the jewish labour minister speaking against the isreli actions.

The way the BBC works is different to the way all the other channels/networks do in the UK. They have a royal charter and are funded by the license fee, everyone with a TV has to pay it and they are not allowed to advertise because of this. Yes a channel with NO adverts apart from trailers for their own programs. All other channels use advertising to fund themselves.

The BBC is supposed to be impartial because of this but they totally tow the government's line these days.

I'm American so I don't know the "command & control" structure of the BBC. Is BBC a 100% state-financed network? If so, how are such positions (Chief Operating Officer) held to account?

Based on how American networks work, there would be no way in hell she would be fired. She would be promoted for holding the battle-line for the sake of mitigating Israel's current int'l P.R. Diasaster, helping to bury the cause & effect of the devastation.
