Sony does suck... at making audio equipment anyways. But Denon is a very good brand. Denon and Onkyo are equally good brands IMO. I think your money goes a little further with Onkyo, but Denon still builds quality equipment. I'm about to buy an Onkyo TX - SR606 btw...
a) What is the difference between onkyo tx-sr 805 sold in US and in other countries?
b) Is there any difference in the very first place?
c) Since i will be buying this model soon in Amazon, can i use this model in other countries? and why i need a transformer if there is no difference in the model sold in US and other countries?

I have nothing against onkyo, they do good stuff, but now its actually the lower end line from the company. If you want some serious equipment look up Integra lineup by the same company. :-)
Well, Onkyo is the main selling line with top of the line Onkyo products even though Integra is under the Onkyo umbrella corporation. I have a new system along with my old faithful and it's no joke. I'm hardcore Onkyo and all my equipment will have that name up front. I say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Peace.
Ok I am noebie when it comes to surround systems I bout this model after seeing the demo in the show room. So I took exactly what I saw there and that was this receiver and jamo speaker set. The problem is that the deference in the sound quality between what I saw in the show room and mine is huge. I think that the problem is in the settings so can anyone help me with this or direct me to a site that can help out please.
QUESTION : is the 805 a new improved version of the 804, or are they completly different versions...... because the 804 only put out 105 watts and the 805 puts out 130....... thats a big difference

I bought an Onkyo in 1991 and it still plays flawlessly. Onkyo is the best in my book.

We have an 805 on demo in store if you'd like to see one up and running. The 905 is due out in about 3 weeks time.
