But I never get the chicken knife.

i dunno if youve seen them but the real ones (well, the ones in egypt, the south american ones are pretty small) are amazingly huge. when you look up from the side of one, you see a horizon of stone in the sky. its crazy.

I inadvertently found an Exit/Teleport glitch of my own. In world 2, after losing Galuf and gaining his granddaughter, I had an idea to take the hiryuu back to the place with the underground stream the moogle fell in earlier. I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a treasure (I was paranoid). Immediately upon making sure the second chest was open, I teleported out, and was back at the Forest of Moore, minus my hiryuu! Fortunately, my sub was still there.

I use the bard in a couple places, but not as many as I would like to. There are usually better classes. (Requiem is nice for the Pyramid, the Undersea Trench, and other areas with undead.)

I don't use the mana song, I was more upset because I'd set the goal of finding 100% of the magic/songs/etc. It was the only one I'd missed and I didn't have any saves at the right place to go back and get it, so I had to start completely over.

I don't know if it's different in other versions, but in the Anthology version you can use 'Double Grip' on the Brave Blade as well.

I believe that the Chicken Knife can still outperform it in flat-out damage, but that's also something to consider when making the choice.

Isn't there also a little trick involving the Twin Lance. You know, right hand: Twin Lance, left hand: Chicken Knife. The game treats the attacks of the Twin Lance as two, and the Chicken Knife as three, so its Auto-Flee ability cannon occur.

I was just doing some screwing around on FFV Advance. The best case scenario is Faris or Krile as a Lv. 99 Freelancer with at least Thief, Monk, and Ranger mastered. With Ultima Weapon, Chicken Knife, Ribbon, Power Sash, and Hyper Wrist, each can do exactly 6576 damage PER HIT with the Chicken Knife alone and Rapid-Fire/X-Fight (so 4 X 6576 + 4 X ~5300).

Ultima Weapon and Hyper Wrist are GBA exclusives though, so the best you could do in the SFC seems to be Ragnarok and Kaiser Knuckle.

I also gave Faris the Chicken Knife, since even as a freelancer, her base stats include both great strength and great agility, meaning she has a slight edge with the Chicken Knife.

Yes (it increases your damage multiplier, to be exact), but only with knives, and all knives but the Chicken Knife are bugged to where you won't see a big improvement (specifically, only the first byte of your level*agility is used).

The Chicken Knife is truly the best weapon in the game (even on the Advance version!) so long as you make the very modest time investment to level it.

I remember how useful the chicken knife was for me...only after figuring out how to avoid using "Escape" casted from it every so often...I had Faris as a Dancer equiped with it, with Magic Sword and 2 things equiped that helped getting Sword Dance better chances at happening rather than other dances, and Faris could do 9999 damage with Flare sword when Sword Dance came...She was damn powerful for the ending boss...

Question: Wouldn't using the Chicken Knife after the Twin Lance override the run script? I heard that, since the Twin Lance will hit twice, the 3rd attack from a Ninja or Dual-wielding-ability'd character won't trigger any additional skills, like the auto-flee.

yes, that's possible because the game only assumes 2 attacks and it doesn't calculate the special effect of the third attack which would be the chicken knife

I've heard the same thing. It's not worth it in the late game though, since the Twin Lance is pretty weak. You're much better off with X-Fight, which also negates bonus effects.

The power from the Atma Weapon from FF6 (or FF3 US) increases as your HP rises.

The Chicken knife has nothing to do with min or max HP levels ;)

Chicken Knife and Atma weapon are two totally different weapons. While Atma weapon's power increases depending how much hp you have, the Chicken Knife's power increases depending on how many times you've ran away from a battle. the more you run, the more damage it'll cause.
