  • i prefer to highlight the shoulder pads with a brighter green it looks better

  • Wow i use 4 paints and mine look look like that o-O

  • Nicely painted

  • That mystery pack is an ammo pouch.

  • their much better than mine :p

  • Can someone give me general tips on painting plz, im lanning on making a Vostroyan army but i needto know what to do first and do you needto primer them?

  • prime them black and if the metal still shows trough than paint some watered down choas black over it this should help.

  • do a base-coat of dark angles green before the catachan green

  • hey can you do a new vid im thinking about starting Imperial guard after Xmas

  • @LotrWargamer: I have a new one up.

I could make a new vid. But I'm on a break from Warhammer.

  • I'm pretty sure that that mystery pack on his back holds an extra magazine for his lasgun

  • use ink

  • 1. Can't say I'm impressed by your grammar.

    2. Since you have no vids up, I take that as BS

    3. This was a year ago. New tricks I have learned.

  • @CurlyKittenTards You just got owned. :D

  • The Mystery Pouch is an Ammo Pouch

  • ulsterman11,

    Full of candy!!!

  • the eagle on the helmet is white not silver

  • back in the day, I had no skull white. lol

  • Nice guide, lacking a good wash and highlights though. Got the urge back to pick up the brush again...

  • Yes. My painting techniques have changed quite a bit. Maybe I should do another vid...

  • Awesome ... thanks for the FREE guide. Unlike alot of other jerks trying to make money for poor quality paint guides, you posted a decent guide for free ... out of love of the hobby. Keep it up please, the jerks trying to make money from people for simple do it yourself guides should be shot :) We need more painted armies and forcing kids and poor gamers (who spend all their money on the models) to pay to learn how to paint their armies is just bs.

  • Hey thanks man. Thats really true.

Miniwargaming is charging for their guide, its good, but they -could- do it for free. But your right, some sub par guides are BS.

  • you pointing that at jawaballs?

  • dude, wt do u paint the light brown clothing with????? (underneath the armour)

  • For the Cadian 8th.

I reccomend Graveyard Earth for the base and Bleached Bone for the highlight. (mix the two for the highlight)

  • curious what are fatiuges?

  • The cloth uniform. ;)

  • his whitish colour clothes

    ( the model )

  • im starting my own guard regement called

    CADIAN ARTILLARY 389

    ARMARTIES STRONG HOLD.

  • Hey! I was trying to find a paint that looked like gravyard earth but easier to layer..Its Khemri brown..Its great I just layer the clothes with that then wash teh clothes with devlan mud that highlight with kommando khaki or desert yellow!

  • Damn... Used to collect 40k a long time ago. Had fun painting and assembling, but never got into the gaming. Now with the new IG I think I might start again. IG is my favorite army anyway, when it comes to background. No superhuman cyborgs... Just normal men pitted against the worst horrors of the galaxy.

  • Yep. Same reason here. I also think the Leman Russ is one of the best tanks in the whole of 40k. You see all the guns on that thing? (battle cannon, pintleheavy stubber, lascannon, x2 heavy bolters) lol

  • i say the leman russ demal. is better lol

  • The name of the foundation paint is khemri brown ;)

  • Yea i tried that but the graveyard earth is hard to ayer with and still keep scorched brown in the receses. DO you have trubke with layering?

  • I do, it just takes a few layers. But I belive there is an easier way, you can use a foundation paint and highlight it with "Bleached Bone". Not sure what the name of the foundation paint is...

  • Hey if you want an easy way that will give your models a great finish, table top quality, definately, this way also brings out all the detail

Paint the cloth scorched brown, then layer the cloth graveyard earth, then wash the cloth with brown ink, Then drybrush the cloth heavily with desert yellow, Then extreme highlights of Kommando Khaki and bleached bone.. Nice painting anyways.

  • Thanks man! My next project are Prison Guards. You dont know by any chance how to make orange fatigues do you? ;)

    lol

  • Well i may have an idea for orange. I would think to use:

Mechirus Solar Orange Foundation ( watered down) on the model

Use badab black OR Devlin mud, heavy wash over it and i would think some highlights using the same orange but fine highlights.

I think that should be fine

  • I'll try that.

It'll be a while before I get this done. Cash inflow has been tight. lol

  • this is an amazing way to paint them, but it is a little too mutch work for table top quality. i find that it is fine to just do scorched brown, then graveyard earth, and the raised areas either codex grey, or bleached bone.

  • Nice, the granades look perfect :)

  • How long did it get you to paint one model? looks realy nice ;)

  • While this is not related to the actual painting, I think the Mystery pouch is used to carry a spare clip, because I think in the codex it says like heat can charge guard clips, so really you would only need two...

Great paint job though, it REALLY helped with my guard army

  • i'd say u need to run your brush over the details like the eagles.. it looks like you're dabbing, hence why u are getting paint around the eagle... if u run the brush across rather then pointing straight down u'll get a cleaner finish.. you could also highlight the armour by painting the edges a lighter colour to what you have the main armour colour

  • Hey thanks dude! Nice tip for other people as well.

  • and could u put some still pics up i would love to see some close ups of your models!

  • My camera sucks. But my video camera has a picture feature. So I need to pick up a chip for it.

  • Thx..

Or i was thinking desert tellow for the cloth??

  • Hmmm

    Im thinking Of Collecting these

But wnats the advantages about IG

  • Leman Russ tanks and heavy/special weapon squads. Plus a firing line of Guardsmen.

And when the new codex comes out, *mouth waters* You better watch out!

  • Better be careful with that watering mouth, cos if it is like mine all the water will spill out after your jaw hits the floor after the second stage of shock. You can combine the psyker battlesquads with a culexus assasin to increase the shot capacity by one for each psyker in 12 inches, so it is possible to get a strength 5 ap1 blast weapon with 21 shots if my memory is correct

  • dude i need help!!

    I just got the battleforce.

I started painting them this way but it seems anytime i try to paint the fatiques there is still black parts and i have te end up doing 4 layers????

Oh and is kommando khaki okay for the fatigues drybrush?

    Plz help!!

  • I used to use Kommando Kaki (however you spell it) So thats fine.

As far as the fatigues...yeah, they annoy me too. If you want, you can use a Foundation paint. Delven Mud or something like that. That goes on in one layer. :D

  • what is drybrush?

  • Its a technique where you get a drop of paint on your brush and you get 90% of it off. Then light go back of forth over the model. The little bit of paint sticks to the high parts and give the model a nice look.

  • Did u just highlight the knife ? or also the armour and the ´lasgun

  • I use the drybrush technique

    Knife = codex grey

armor/ las gun = Camo green

  • Great thx your models are great, it seems a very easy way to paint them so its good enough for me.. I like ur other vids to Your army is coming along well.

  • Hey umm what did you use as an undercoat black or white or what?

  • Krylon Ultra Black -flat

    (that means no gloss)

    Works great!

  • the mystry puotch is a clip holder

  • i believe that mystery pouch is a magazine pouch for the lasgun

  • have you read the guard codex? it is said that the laser power pack (magazine)can be recharged from a power or by exposin the thermal cells to heat or light, so the magazine can be placed in a fire to recharge it. but by doing this it reduces the life of the powerin the magazine.

  • yes i hav the guard codex, but wouldnt it be better to carry an extra mag just in case, it says that they hav nearly unlimited ammunition, but doesnt make them invincible/unbreakable, plus the pouch looks alot like one of the mags

  • Buddy, the power pack takes time to charge, it doesn't charge a second you leave it out in sun. Think of it as a solar panel of sort, but smaller, better, stronger and so on. YOU defintely need to carry several power pack for lasgun for combat

  • Hi What colour did you do the boots and the skull with wings emblem, good job btw

  • Codex grey

    boltbun metal

    (yeah, I'm Gamer0900)

  • You might want to re-phrase that.

  • space marines with grey knight allies and imperial guard basilisk. legal or not?

  • space marine units + daemonhunter grey knights + imperial guard vehicles. it this combo legal/ the imperial guard units im putting are only vehicles where space and daemonhunts are unit troops.

  • No its not. Maybe in Apoc.

But only two armies can allie.

So it would have to be Space Marines/IG

    or Deamon Hunters/IG, ect.

  • what primer did you use? GW?

  • No..I can't remember which one I used.

Bluetable has a video, search "bluetable how to prime"

  • nice video dude this helped me out alout

  • that mystery pouch is really a lazgun ammo. you can tell by looking at the ammo pack in the gun and in the pouch because they both have dots which is sopposed to be red.

  • I just mess everything up dont I?

    :O

  • what are you o about, the dot doesnt have to be red it can be whatever colour. ive never seen a red one and its silver in the codex

  • ya but it is a las core ammo, it should be realy like that, from the inside of the ammo pack.

  • Are you aloud to use the Imperial guard jungle squad people with the shock troups ( the one in the vid)

  • No idea, I would assume. I think they have the same stats. It says "Infantry Platoon" as the option. Not "Shock Troops"

So I'd say yes, but ask a few others.

  • Nice video, Subscribed :)

  • Thanks! I have several videos that I can post. But I'm waiting for my other vids to get some views first. :)

  • People. NintenFan0900 is my brothers account. When he posts someting on my videos relating to advice, its prolly me. :)

  • can u use goblin green ??

  • I would not use it. Makes it look goofy. IMO

  • those shin pad things are called putty's :P

  • And thanks to all who helped me out with the item names! :)

  • Really really good!!!! but you should start with warhammer fantasy!

  • I should, but as you can see, I have no money.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Im a starter WH40k collector, im starting to collect Imperial guard, so this really helped a lot!

  • Yes u have helped a lot because i am a pro painter and i didnt knew how to paint the legs :P Funny :P

  • its pronounced ca-tuh-chan, hence: Catachan.

  • lol thanks :)

Half the names in Warhammer I have to learn the hard way. Like I pronounced the starter kit like "Make-Ridge" XD

  • NERD! Kidding, nice paint job, if I ever get into the hobby I'll definitely use your tips.

  • thanks :D this helped (: im collecting a renagade guardsmen army so it helps a little bit

  • >.> good paint job! (mystery pouch XD its an ammo pouch) Sadly... I recently Changed from imperial guard to Tau =( Still got all the models though.

  • Kan I haz tem???!?!

But really, thanks for the comment!

  • did u undercoat it at all? black or white or something?

  • black undercoat.

  • I didnt even turn the sound up. Oh well, i still rated you 5 stars cause I'm nice to you.

  • XD thats good. Cuz some punk came in a rated it a one star. (We were at war)
