Definition of Sound was a London based dance music group, consisting of Kevin Clark and Don Weekes, working with musicians Rex Brough (aka The Red King) and latterly, Mike Spencer. Mike Spencer went onto have successful a career producing, amongst others, Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue Alphabeat and Newton Faulkner . Weekes, after the release of a solo album, left the music industry.
I remember seeing the video for this song on "Morning Glory", a music show that was on Sky One in the late 90's. It featured the two girls mentioned in the lyrics.
i cant beleive everyone else was searching for this track aswell, i had to type the few words i remembered in to google to find out who sang it. i loooove the internet.
the female vocals is my mate elaine vassell she's brilliant, my hero, you can hear more of her songs on youtube such as Beatmasters Dunno What it is about you
what a tune. heard this years ago an its just as great now.how my definition of sound, hip hop should be. instead of all that simple voice shit the rap crap come out with
I also had to search for this one for a long time based on how irregularly I heard it and didn't catch the title drove me crazy for awhile tryin to find it, but yah, absolutely awesome AWESOME track.
@ShaolinShinobi thanks man, thats bugged me for years. I'm sure though that the 'old jazz track I heard on the radio' wasn't The Zombies, if wonder if it predates that ... will report back in 3 years if I find out!
@richrichman lol didn't realise you'd written the comment that long ago :P I think I misunderstood which portion you were talking about, but, hey if you do manage to find out, I'd be more than happy to know... in 3 years! :D
They played this on channel v in australia in the mid 90s, those where the days.
