Surprising to see all the little tents. I never thought Japan had that sort of thing. Also did not know Japan allowed undesireables to enter the country like the africans you described. Thought they were smarter than that.
If you are looking for homeless japanese people there are alot in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Yokohama city areas. Yes, there are alot of Africans from Nigeria and Kenya trying to claim that they are from New York and L.A. so they can get hooked up with japanese chicks and not be looked down at.
these are not slum, these are more good than some posh areas of pakistan , it shows that japanese have higher standard of living , more than india and pakistan
dont listen to those ignorant comments but both slum and ghetto are basicly run down poor neighborhoods almost every place has them. and to make it sound liek every black person on this earth lives in the ghettos is just stupid if you think that then man you really need to go outside more
That pretty nice compared to south Sacramento were i grew up. Every part was ran down and every building and house was gated and homeless people, drug dealers, and gangs everywhere.
if you call these buildings as slums how about india
pakistan, afghnistan, mayanmar, bangladesh, nepal, bhutan and maldives these all countries are poor shit and poor than japan even i think such type of buildings rich people lives
but in japan poor lives since standard of life is very low
@zipitar Agreed. This Japanese slum is a world class slum.
I am saying this because the slum area here in Hong Kong is much worse. If you look at the middle class residential areas on Hong Kong island, even the half-century old buildings are covered with new paint. However, if you look at the slum area of the Sham Shui Po district in Kowloon, the buildings are simply filthy and disgusting~
@stephentsang2000 i am saying that japan is rich country , here poor slums also better than some rich residential and buisness districts of areas of India, pakistan ,mayanmar, nepal, bangladesh, maldives, sri lanka , so one cannot call these slums
may be u calling them slums because the living standard of japan is high
and japanese considers these buildings locality as a poor people's galore
But can you refute me? I didnt think so. Wherever black people are is crime , poverty, aids and fail. Japanese do not want this, so whats wrong with that?
@GerudoUK you are a Racist brittish fucking pork.
Stupid ignorant Japan is one of the most developed countries in the world. there is no slums in Japan motherfuckers. Japan is even more developed than you shitty AND PIRAT country full of idiots like you. Ignorant son of a bitch.
@GerudoUK There are plenty of black people in Japan. It seems like you have never left the suburbs. why the animosity towards black people? Did one of them run off with your bird? Is that why you immerse your life in video games. Yes, there are plenty of black people in the ghetto. who put them there and why? Black people have always been treated as second class citizens in the US and in the UK. They were made slaves then ghettoized and still get treated as 2nd class citizens.
No one put blacks in the ghetto, they create ghettos for themselves. Forget whites for a moment. Overbreeding, tribalism, corruption, disease and filth are what I see from the black race. Haiti, Zimbabwe, that faeces caked slum Liberia, tower hamlets, Detroit are black achievements. I am not racist, just a realist. Hell I am half black myself, but I definitely see differences in race. The Japanese are a proud, clean, technologically and culturally advanced people.
@GerudoUK its callled institutional racism. Why one of my black friends pays more than what I pay in rent in the same building for nearly identical apartments. Or why is his car insurance higher than mine? Even though he has a better driving record and an older car. When it comes to buying houses. His interest rates are higher than mine would be. You are pointing out the results but not mentioning what causes them. A very simple minded way of looking at things.
You either let private citizens act privately, or you intrude upon property rights and potentially cause more issues. While anti-discrimination laws are meant to help, they often result in affirmative discrimination, which is just as bad.The fundamental question is this: why is it the government's place to dictate what the landlord can do with his own land? If the discrimination is unacceptable, it's the responsibility of an educated public to boycott it. The government can educate.
Funny story, spent quite a bit of time in the big cities, those three or four are still the only ones I saw. Far outnumbered by white people, and further outnumbered by non-Japanese Asians, and further outnumbered by Japanese. They're not common at all.
@WiggaMachiavelli I don't know where you went. Did you got to Shibuya, Shinjiku, even Harajuku. I still don't believe you went to Yokohama and saw only 3 or 4. I lived there from 99 to 2004 and I remember almost every time I went out I saw more. Especially after the world cup in 02. Its like they came to see the games and never left. Another thing I remember which I thought was funny was the African dudes pretending to be from the US claiming to be from LA and NYC, LMAO.
Admittedly, never been to Yokohama, but hey, maybe it's just statistics playing funny-buggers with us? I've certainly not seen very many black people, so in my experience they're rare. You apparently have, so in your experience they're not.
I have a question. Is the area around higashi hanazono a slum? I went out there a few nights with a girl I met and she would not tell me exactly where we were while driving. So Im starting to think I was in a buraku area because it was very run down and there was graffiti everywhere. Not to mention her dad own a demolition service ans these kind of companies are usually owned by people from buraku or yakuza. Her father had 7 cars and 5 uyoku cars all parked in different areas. So strange.
there are lots of places like this, shinjuku park, in nishi-shinjuku, like tent towns built on top of the structure of the city, on sidewalks, in parks, especially in parks. they tend to be quite small, not sprawling areas like many parts of US cities
I've been there, too. And yes, it's a slum - but people (even the bums) still have their own kind of pride and dignity there. Too bad it's still virtually ignored by the authorities, though - it's been like this for too many years already.
Makit,u r right. it's a slum and ghetto. if u ve been there u will know, it was a good boom town fill with business hotel and good income day labours when it was exist in the osaka map. now it's virtually not exist in any map and fill with bums and hobos. some homeless and day labours living with minimum salary are there. can u find a place to stay for 800yen? no where but here.
Maxula, trust me, if you saw the piles of garbage, the toothless old men cooking over fires in garbage cans, or the drunks passed out literally in the middle of the street, you'd change your mind.
Japan has 125 million people - do you think they are all rich?
Sorry, but I don't know the correct meaning of both SLUM and GHETTOS.I'm not good at English. Please explain the points of difference between slum and ghettos.
they mean basicly the same. now theres a big diference between latin american slums and japenese slums, here the roads aint pavimented its all dirt, and the walls are made of either card boards or bricks, zinc roofs, no access to water, and if you walk around there with a video camera in the hand youd get shot and robbed right away
Slums by definition are areas where people are very sloppy, things like leaving trash everywhere, not all the time poor. Like a mansion could be a slum.
A ghetto is a place where people are forced to live because of a financial situation.
They are often the same but by definition, different.
@makitatunemi its none of those...its pretty nice...im from jersey...right across nyc...here we see real slums...or ghettos....i cant even tell u the slums we see where im from originally hahahaha
@makitatunemi I am gonna try to explain it as a best as I can. A slum is a place where people make their houses out of whatever they can find (cardboard boxes, tin sheets, newspaper). A ghetto is a place usually built by a gov't housing authority where they send the poorest people to live. Life in a ghetto in my opinion is a lot better than in a slum. A ghetto is build for people to live in. A slum is made on unwanted land where poor people just settle down and try to survive.
@Maxula Been there and there aren't ghettos. It's different there. If you have a house you take care of it, unlike most of the pigs here in the USA. But everywhere you find tent cities under bridges, in allies, parks, etc. But the tent cities are neat: you see people sweeping and trying their best to be tidy. However, the Japanese lucky people shit on the poor just like they do here. But worse.
@Maxula Well if you haven't been to Japan, how the fuck would you know? Google Kamagasaki for 5 mins and educate yourself. They have slums/ghettos in Japan, just like everywhere else in the world.
Surprising to see all the little tents. I never thought Japan had that sort of thing. Also did not know Japan allowed undesireables to enter the country like the africans you described. Thought they were smarter than that.
