Of course Obama "appears" to be intelligent and a great candidate for change -- but what change and how does he plan to make those changes happen.
Change can be good and bad, but undeclared changes mean nothing to me. At least Hillary and Edwards give some real insight into what they want to do and how they intend to get there.
Besides I see it being the opposite. Obama is the one constantly bringing Bill Clinton up. I think he forgot who he is running against.
Not trying to start a fight here. Just gotta say Hilary hits me as a little phony. But I will concede she has some experience and is smart. Problem is she's icy and attacking. Obama seems like the brightest candidate, with the most depth, and in my book, has the most charisma.
How do you think she would respond if I asked, "Senator Clinton, does it bother you at all that you and your husband frighten me?" Would she say, "I don't understand why you would feel that way. Can you help me to understand your thoughts?" or would it be, "That's your opinion, thanks. Next question." Does she really want to know who the American voter is and what we represent? I don't get that sense at all.
edwards have awesome opinions but i think he needs to focus on states other than carolina. i would like to see him win but he doesnt have the money to sustain a race against the republicans
This is by far one of the best debates we've seen!!! Although, I think we are going to need all three of them in office to produce some real Change. They all specialize in important areas and represent the 3 big discriminations we face around the world: sexism, racism and class-ism.
I have to agree with you. They are a match made in heaven. Edwards can woo the south and obama can woo the upper class northerners. At times it seems Edwards has more soul than Obama! lol
He's not stupid. He's knows he doesn't have a chance for the nomination, so he's going to ally himself with Obama. Edwards knows what it takes to win, but doesn't have the charisma of an Obama. If Clinton were smart, instead of her and her husband taking a pugilistic stance with him, she would know when to cut her losses for the nomination and start working for the wingman seat.
I don't know if he acts stupidly - I suppose so, who doesn't? - but he's the brightest of the three of them. So if you're voting for intelligence, then he's your man.
I also, like kkvh, think he's the most honest of the three of them - and most importantly, the least in corporation pockets. Or at least, let's put it this way, the most aware of the power and influence of corporate America.
from what i can tell, Edwards is trying to relate to the audiance, considering that most of these people live in the south and understand common life.
You know, about what John said about segregation in today's society... what happens actually is selective segregation by those very races, they CHOOSE to live together. Trust me, I live in an apartment complex of 100+ buildings, 98% are mexican. No one forced them to live there.
Yes and No. I am black, and I know that a big problem is the rap culture. My african brothers and sisters need to appreciate the aspects of other cultures without feeling like they are no longer a part of the African American cummunity.
How many generations until you are not African American? My family is from France, I never say I'm French American or European. Although, might be 'cause it's France but still... you see my point. Rap videos don't represent the black community so why aren't moms and dads pulling the plug and putting an end to them.
Why you're not classified as a French-American because of the color of your skin. You are labeled as white. That's how important appearances are. Do you think we'd be calling people from Africa 'African-Americans' if they had a white skin tone?
It's all ridiculous if you ask me, who cares about your color, it's all about your behavior, attitude, and personality.
If they're from Africa, we would call them African since they're not an American. And as long as they live, they don't care about the contents of character, but by the judgment of our appearance. I don't mean to sound cynical, though.
"-American" makes me seem less of an American. My 5th grade teacher was so dumb, she said it's offensive when people call a black person 'black' so we should call them "African-American" even though she uses the term all the time. And she's white too.
i mean there are sometings that they could do to make progress but then they feel like they are tied to where they came from and cam't break the stereotype
Hillary says she can deal better with republican mud throwing, but apparently Obama did a lot better than her in this debate after they both run out of mud...
I am still shocked and appalled at the fact that it is possible in a country of 300 million, that two families could control the highest office in the country for 28 years. Why not vote for change and actually stop the influence of two families in the role of the government, let democracy actually stand and vote in someone new
I am getting fed up of this unfair argument that an intelligent, inspiring & hard working individual should not b allowed 2 run because her husband had once held the role. So woman can run as long as their husband never aspired 4 the same role, as no one complained about Bobby Kennedy or Bush 2 running. The job hasn't automatically been passed on 2 her so it's not a dynasty, & she is working 2 earn votes on her own merit just like everyone else, & voter always have a choice.
But I'm a female and I'm all for a female president, just NOT this lady. You see, her resume is bad. She's been part of scandals. Plus, how would I ever know who's really running the show, her or her scandalous husband?

Obama makes racist comments in debate about Bill Clinton
What if John Edwards said i can't tell if Obama is a brother untill Obama does a song and dance. The News would crush Edwards and ruin him.
But Obama made the same racist statement about Bill Clinton that he had to see Bill dance before he would call him a brother. Even if it was a joke. It show just how racist Obama is.
HOW about this joke Obama is a monkey. Not funny is it.
You think that Obama's comment was offensive, or degrading towards Bill Clinton? I think the question was racist in that aspect. He was answering a silly question, the best way that he can? You looking at his answer from a very bias point of view.
I don't think it really is racist, but it is stupid because Bill Clinton was right in what he said. Obama's record is out there just like Edwards' and Hilary's, you can see it for yourself.
In debate you use intelligent to argue your arguement, not insults. If you have to resort to insults, it demonstrates you lack the intelligance to argue your arguement. Therefore, you lose creditability.
Yeah, it was a bad question. From the audience response, people did not seem insulted by Obama's reply - just the opposite. I think you're being hypersensitive MrWoozer. Just my opinion.
