All Indian movies including the Bengali movies from West Bengal were banned after the India Pakistan War in 1965. Those of us who were born before that time had the pleasure of enjoying these heart wrenching movies but there are generations of us who have been deprived of these pleasures. I grew up in early 60's in Dinajpur and Comilla and still cherish the sweet memories of going to these movies with my parents, before Ayub Khan banned Indian movies.
Such a beautiful song... I picked up the DVD of Harano Sur yesterday and it doesn't have this song on it! Did you get this from the VCD version of the film?
