    jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks!

  • Nice beard!!!

  • Would be a great gun to put behind your seat on farm

  • Ive seen one at a gun show and fell in love with it im goin to get one

  • Just think of what Steve McQueen did for Mustangs in that movie where he was racing around the streets of San Francisco in that movie he did called Bullit. He shure could have used a Mares leg on that chase! lol R n' R.

  • can u shoot a 45 lc out of a break barrel 410??

  • hi jeff, im thinking about etting the marlin 1894c in 357. what are your thought on the rifle?

  • I like the rifle, but examine it first, carefully. Marlin quality has been varied lately.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom thanks for the reply and the advice!!

  • @Gunblastdotcom Marlin is no more. It was bought out by Remington. And they have stopped producing nearly ALL of Marlin's older products because of Qaulity Control standards. If you are going to get a marlin, be sure to get one before Remington got it's greedy little hands on marlin. I found a steal the other day in a local gun shop for a 30-30 cal Marlin 30AS for 250 dollars. Needed a cleaning/polishing/grinding, and I'm putting a skinner ghost ring on it. anyhow, great vids sir. God Bless!

  • Man I'm digging on your beard. That thing is awesome.

  • Dear Santa,,, -lol- u look like my santa, so ship me one -lmao- anyway nice vids so keep um coming. I would to buy u a beer when i am visiting the states again :-)

  • OMG man i turned you fan lol

aim from brazil great weapons and videos.

  • amazing!!! zombie land bitches!!

  • awesome. wonder how durable rossi weapons are

  • Hey jeff, Where'd you get that awesome white duster ?

  • It came from Drysdales in Tulsa, OK. They also sell online.

    jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom I was just there the other day. I'll have to check it out again!

  • You look like a kick ass rabbi haha

  • if you did conceal that and someone tried to rob a gas station when they see a cowboy pull it out there thoughts would be oh shit

  • Is there any legal/nfa issues with owning this and a regular rossi 92 rifle at the same time?

  • No - this is legally a pistol, so no problem from a Federal standpoint. If you live in a Communist area where you cannot own a pistol - MOVE.

  • Jeff, have you had any experience with Rossi's 410 gauge lever action shotgun? If not, how is the quality generally on their products, such as on the dandy little pistol you show here?

  • I have handled a pre-production version of that 410, but not yet seen a production gun. I like Rossi stuff, and own a few of their leverguns.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Ah, thank you for the info, I appreciate it.

  • wait why did you pay $400 for the holster? why was it so much?

  • Because that is what it cost. I would have preferred to pay 20 bucks. Mernickle's work is expensive, but well worth it.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom makes sense. ha, i didn't notice how stupid that question was until now. well love your work Jeff, favorite gun channel, keep up the good work man!

  • Did u pay $400 dollars for the holster?

  • I do not remember exactly, but it was somewhere in that price range.

    Jeff

  • ★★★★★

  • Epic beard

  • braziliam army

  • I really like this idea.

Does it kick less than a 12 Gauge with 00 or 04 buck?

  • Yes, felt recoil is much less than a 12 gauge.

    jeff

  • i like ur beard

  • can you put a full sized stock on in?

  • Not legally.

  • The holster is $400 bucks

  • how acurate is it?

  • From the referenced review:

"Accuracy from the barrel of the Ranch Hand was target-grade. Holding over a solid rest using the open sights, the Ranch Hand would cluster a magazine full into one ragged hole at twenty-five yards, repeatedly. While this is not a handgun that we are likely to see on the line at Camp Perry, it is good to know that it is capable of fine accuracy, if needed."

  • wtf is someone snoring in the background?

  • I believe you're hearing the camera's zoom motor.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Oh alright and how does this version compare to the henry?

  • I have no experience with that Henry.

    jeff

  • i love ur beard :L

  • ive seen a few vids with that gun and i havent been impressed at all until this one, all that was missing was the coat. :)

    Thanks for the upload.

  • I wish I could justify that gun, because I really like the looks of it. I have a hard enough time justifying my coach gun. Oh, to live in simpler times...

  • I gave up trying to justify my guns a long time ago. You're a grown man, you don't have to justify anything. Get what you want because you want it and you're able to, that's reason enough.

  • @Gunblastdotcom If I could give more than two thumbs up for that one I would.

  • @Gunblastdotcom god dam dude, love that speech, may i use it lol

  • As long as you don't use it to take the Lord's name in vain.

  • @Gunblastdotcom deal :)

  • Mare's legs would really be more practical than a lot of people think (though not that much more...). See how fast you can shoot 7 shots from an SAA vs. a mare's leg! Of course, a Schofield would be a much better option for most people worried about a fast reload, back then. Even so, a mare's leg would be more durable, could use a more powerful round, and, most importantly, can't get a case trapped under the extractor star. Of course, an EVEN better solution would be to just have 2 pistols...

  • 2:16 don Corleone!? where did he come from

  • Im hoping that my local dealer will come through for me, we located a .357 model today and its supposed to be transferred to my local store by next week. I can't wait.

  • Gotta say, kind of a worthless weapon... Not a criticism of the video just of the weapon. Novelty is ok but with out a full stock the only thing that gun is good for is justifying that awesome holster lol

  • It's FUN, and that's enough justification for me.

  • @uedmarine I would think it a good HD gun. its SUPER handy, short barrel. 6 rounds of .45cal lead will kill anything, reliability of levers.

  • @TheKodiak72 Honestly, at an MSRP of 536$, I'll stick with my Glock 21 for HD. Its super handy, short barrel. 13 rounds of .45 Auto will kill anything, reliability of Glocks. :)

Im just having a bit of fun with you. I love the holster and while I think the gun is a novelty and about as gimmicky as a Judge, I dont think anyone shouldn't buy one...Hell, even I might.

  • @uedmarine after i posted the comment.. I was thinking.. Durrr.. a 1911 will put out 6 rounds of 45 in a shorter package. haha. lapse of thought

  • i like the Flag Sir ,thanks for the vid

  • It is available from Seven Brothers Mercantile (sevenbros-dot-com) for only $4.99. Measures 3x5 feet with 2 grommets. Search for "M4 Come and Take It Flag", item number fsh-m4. We have no financial interest, it's just a cool flag that everyone should own.

  • @Gunblastdotcom

thank you very much for the info Sir,its is well appreciated ,iam going to check it out

  • @Gunblastdotcom

    "Body Piercing by Ruger"

I absolutely love that shirt! Gave me a good laugh.

Thanks for the great vids! Always enjoy them.

  • I want a .44 mag version. I am going to be getting a Charter Bulldog probably and this eats .44's including specials I would presume so why not then? Makes a good truck gun, no?

  • neither fish nor fowl, kind of a useless toy novelty. . .slower than a pistol and less accurate than a rifle. . .worst of both worlds.

  • @red0ubtable No actually it packs the power of a rifle in the size that can be carried on the hip, the best of both worlds....

  • @pac6010 I am sorry to be the one to bust your bubble, but there is no way a 12" barrel has the same power as a 20" barrel. Surely you are mistaken.

  • @red0ubtable Obviously it doesn't but it has allot more power than most hand guns which was what I was talking about....

  • The beard is a thing of wisdom. It shows how long you've been around. hahaha

  • I just picked one of these babies up. He is right by saying there is no real justified need for them, But damn they are fun. I bought mine for the same reason i buy all my guns. I don't need them i just want them. Also its my right as a law bidding citizen of these here United States.

  • Well stated, sir.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thank you sir. I just noticed that shirt, I love it.

  • thats a badass coat, josey whales just got got real

  • AWESOME BEARD!!! YOU'RE A REAL EPIC BEARD MAN!!!!

  • That coat looks cool. It has that "Wells Fargo" or "Pinkerton" look to it.

  • What do you think of the rossi leverguns? I was briefly in the market for a regular 20" or 24" lever gun and all the gun store salesmen where telling me to by a marlin or winchester because the actions where better. I think they where just trying to get me to drop a little more cash what do you think?

  • I like them a lot, and own several.

  • Let's see now. You can't shoot it like a pistol or a rifle. The idiots in Hollywood invented it for a TV show that flopped in 3 years! It's cute but worthless. I got a wife like that around here somewhere. Save your money for something better!!

  • A fine addition to any mall ninja's arsenal. "smile when you say that pardner."

  • Do you need a handgun permit for it?

  • It is legally a handgun, so if you are unfortunate enough to live in a Communist area that requires a permit to own a handgun...yes.

    And vote the bastidges out!

  • @Gunblastdotcom oh, okay. Well thanks

  • @Gunblastdotcom california......bastards.

this is like th 12th gun ive wanted they wont sell in this friggin hippified state. they'll sell you marijuana if you have a special card from the government, but you might as well roll it up in your second amendment rights to smoke it in cause they aint gonna let you have any decent guns. so far this is one of my fav's, guess ill keep dreaming.....

  • @vektorblue Keep fighting brother. I know it's tough out there, and I hear people talk about moving to a more gun friendly state, but they need to stand and fight with people like you. I'd love for you to be able to buy any firearm you want but you have to force the politicians to change the laws. Keep the pressure on them. It won't happen overnight or all at once, but keep the pressure on them. We're pulling for you on the outside.

  • @Gunblastdotcom New york sucks, bunch of commies

  • i am going to get me one of those flags

  • These seem to have gotten popular since puma introduced there version of the mares leg. Now Rossi and Henry repeating arms both have a version in 45 colt though I would prefer the 1892 style over the henry because of loading but the henry 22lr would be nice for cheap target shooting. I also saw a 87 Norinco or IAC 12GA displayed at a gunshow with short barrel and stock (it wasn't for sale) I think you would probably have to fill out a good high stack of paper work for that one.

  • Is there enough stock on it to shoulder it or steady aim?

  • Not for me, but if you stand three-foot five, it should be ideal.

    Jeff

  • reload it terminator style

  • @ermaslv44 i mean cock it

  • I Love my Ranch Hand! I have it it .45 Colt and I use it myself for deer hunting and have had great sucess with it. I use Barnes VOR-TX bullets and they cycle perfect. My gun is accurate, Light, Portable, and easy to use. Good review although I wish you would of shown how it can be shot other than shooting by the hip. I fire mine with two hands in front of me or resting on a tree or something like that. all in all its a great gun. A gun that not everyone has. I like that. Thanks for your reviews

  • Got one in.45 Colt. They have feed problems, with the top of the front casing edge catching (forget the term for that). Problems actually got worse the more I fired it. Took it back to the truly helpful dealer, but no luck. Ended up having to sell it to a friend who knew all the problems, but still wanted it.

"Novelty" is right. Avoid novelties when it comes to weaponry.

  • That is an ammo problem. A preperly-loaded 45 Colt cartridge will have a roll crimp, with the case mouth turned into the bullet cannelure.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Then all the different ammo types I have--cowboy round nose, hollowpoint, various handloads (even some very deliberately crimped like that)--are defective. Some worked better than others, but none reliably.

Now, if this model works for someone, then bully for them, and they can have at it. The truth is, though, that at least this particular example has a problem, and since I'm very averse to even owning a defective weapon, I have disposed of it.

  • I understand. However, you stated that the cartridges were hanging on the case mouth, at that is what I understood you to mean. If so, then there is not enough crimp, as the case mouth on a 45 Colt cartridge should be rolled into the cannelure. Also, on any levergun, no matter the brand, the lever should be worked quickly and deliberately. Still, you might have had a defective weapon, but my point was that if it was hanging on the case mouth, the ammo is defective.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom I understand. My point is that apparently not even my factory cartridges consistently have enough crimp, & I won't segregate rounds I fire through it vs. through other weapons.

As for levers, a BLR I had years ago had a similar problem before I sold it at a loss. However, far from being cured by "quick and deliberate" working, I in fact found that both, esp. the Ranch Hand, were more reliable when worked slowly. Thus I now have a "No levers allowed" policy in my collection.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thank you for your replies. I have read your reviews before, including on the Taurus Judge, and found them useful. In this case, our experiences are different, and I respectfully offer my experience here, so that others might judge.

  • I wasn't born with a gun in one hand and a set of car keys in the other. I have to register my car, and get a driver's license. Yet say that to a person in the US, that you register your firearm, and pass a safety course, and people freak out about it. I have no problem people having guns and using them in a safe manner. Slavery was once a "right", but times change. Just have an open mind, and use your head folks. Let's be careful out there.

  • @leftcoast67

Perhaps you should have to register your computer before exercising your freedom of speech, and how about obtaining a permit for your Bible? Let's see if I have this correct, you want me to gain permission from the government to own a firearm, the same firearm the Constitution says protects me from the government who issues the permit? The Second Amendment isn't about hunting buddy.

  • how did you get this gun weve been trying to buy one but we have to order one through a gun dealer and no one seems to want to order one for us any advice?

  • I know of none in stock anywhere. They are sold before reaching the distributor. Tru Gunbroker and Gunsamerica

    Jeff

  • God I love the music in your videos Jeff. The more research I do on this Mare's Leg, the more I feel like I need it. I just need help justifying spending the money on it. Great video, as always. Keep up the no nonsense reviews brother!

  • Can the 45 colt ranch hand shoot the buffalo bore ammo and +p ?

  • Yes it can, but if in doubt, ALWAYS ask the ammo maker.

    Jeff

  • I got a henry mares leg 22 for my birthday and shot about 70 rounds through it and its a neat gun you should do a review on it

  • @iLove12GaugeSlugs you don't know what country I live in

  • @iLove12GaugeSlugs you're stupid, the flag stands for people standing against oppression, if you support oppression china will welcome you.

  • @iLove12GaugeSlugs I guess you prefer the Obama flag instead. Well if they made a flag with the Obama logo that they stole from Pepsi.

  • I've never seen anyone look good in a duster coat... until now. Where can you find coats like that?

  • I got mine from Drysdale's in Tulsa. They also sell online.

    Jeff

  • Hey sorry, but is there a "short stroke kit for the rossi? a lot of the parts look like standard 92 parts.... and in the sass groups alot of them have kits that shorten the stroke of the lever...

  • Yes, it is a standard Rossi 92 action.

    jeff

  • where did you get that holster?

  • Bob Mernickle - details and pics are in the referenced review.

  • Any reasonable-pressure 45 Colt load, including smokeless, is fine.

  • Hey Mayor Mikey Bloomberg - can I have one of these ??? Screw you !!

"The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed"

AND I like salt and soda too !!!

  • nice video, pretty cool gun for a lever action

  • wered you purchase that fine coat

  • I apologize for the delay in answering. I have been at a shoot in Arkansas for a few days, with no access to email.

It came from Drysdale's in Tulsa. They also have an online store.

    jeff

  • could you change the d loop? to one thats not as large

  • Yes, it will accept any Rossi lever loop.

    Jeff

  • I seriously wanna open carry this next time I'm out haha

  • Great video - I love your reviews and I just bought a 357 ranch hand. Keep the videos comming and PS love the Ruger shirt.

  • PROUDLY MADE IN BRAZIL.

  • I found another Mare's Leg holster for this gun from JB Custom that looks more like the Steve McQueen rig from the show. Cheaper then the Legacy Sports holster (seen in the video) too, I think.

Anyway, I'm dying to get my hands on a Ranch Hand! Looks like such a fun gun!

  • LOOKS LIKE A VERY GOOD CCW

  • Those are classed as a rifle in Canada (over 600cm long). Trying to get one right now, but there is only one importer.

  • love it!!!

  • Do you know if it is legal to add to the the stock to extend the stock?

I have seen Glocks and revolvers converted with stock attachments to shoot similar to a carbine or rifle.

  • In the US, it is illegal to add a buttstock to a pistol. The Ranch Hand is legally a pistol, so adding a buttstock can get you at least five years' Federal room and board.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thank you for the quick reply. Interesting. I have seen at the Shot Show, attachments for Glocks and other hand guns to convert them to carbine form - hence my confusion.

(Search You Tube for "Glock Carbine Conversion" to see video example). Are these conversion kits also illegal?

  • Those conversion kits are legal in the US only if the barrel is also changed to a length of at least 16 inches.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks for the info. I was just a bit confused on this. Thanks again

  • @Gunblastdotcom In canada its considered a rifle :p

  • @frankgon4 also, the glock and 1911 carbine kits you see that are done legally also have 16 inch barrels attatched ususally that come with the carbine kit.

  • I was wondering if you had any experience hunting wild boar. I was thinking if this Ranch Hand had a single point sling it might be a good pig gun.

Ive never hunted boar before, but its something id want to try someday and the Ranch Hand just looks like it could be fun

  • I have killed three Russian boar. Each time, the shots came at close range, and the Ranch Hand should be perfect.

    Jeff

  • I have absolutely no need for that gun...I do not need that gun...I will not buy that gun...although...there is room in the safe...I do like cool holsters...sigh...I hope there isn't one at the next gun show...

  • Comment removed

  • Include this gem in the carbine shootout!!!

  • Love the flag, awesome!

  • Jeff,

For the last year or so, I've thoroughly enjoyed your youtube posts, and especially your website. I appreciate your calm demeanor and down-home attitude when it comes to firearms. Look for my subscription request to your site very soon....Keep up the fantastic work.

  • Thank you, sir!

  • Someone could get one more cartridge in the magazine if it were chambered in .45 Auto Rim instead of .45 Long Colt... Of course SAAMI specs indicate that max pressure for the .45 Auto rim is 7000 psi higher than that of the .45 Colt. I wonder if the Rossi is able to cope with the higher pressure. :)

  • That is a cool ass gun!

  • Nice Mule's Leg.

  • Love the shirt Mr. Quinn, keep up the awesome reviews!!!

  • Thank you! Keep watching and reading, and we will keep up the reviews.

  • No offence but how long has it been since you last shaved???

  • No offense taken - I last shaved in 1978, and I stopped trimming my beard in 1990.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Hmm, mountain man beard! Good for those cold windy days, unfortunately I get wind burn because I am not allowed to grow a beard.

  • @Gunblastdotcom AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice

  • Looks like a fun umm, pistol. Very old school. I always stayed away from these because they are a bit pricy for a novelty weapon, not to say it would not be an effective weapon, but the lower price of this one puts it back on my list of weapons to look out for.

  • i doubt you know off the top of your head but if you had to guess how many guns do you own?

  • @ibanezkid07 I always wondered the same thing lol. If you see his review on the pendleton revolving gun safe it sure looked like a small scaled armory haha.

  • I do not disclose that information on the internet.

    Jeff

  • That would be a perfect truck gun!

  • really how accurate can this really be?

  • It is very accurate. It has only one chamber, made integral with the barrel, so it is as accurate as a rifle. Much more accurate than I can hold it.

    Jeff

  • i wanna open carry one in arizona!

  • I love your videos. Thank you for making them.

  • That's what I love about guns. Even if one is a novelty, it still has the potential to save your life some day. So no matter how odd it may seem, you can always justify the purchase ;) lol

  • Footlong barrel, long sight radius, six shots on tap.... what's not to like? This sort of gun would milk more power and accuracy from one's ammo than any other long-barreled revolver on the market. Plus, it has a definite COOL FACTOR. It's like a repeating Contender with flare!

  • Good for Wanted Dead or Alive fans, Firefly fans, or just anyone who likes cool mare's legs!

  • I like it!! Great production you and your team produce as usual!
