Sorry dude. Most of us ARE IDIOTS (including myself) when assuming that Watermelon is a fruit. It is a Vegetable. You don't spend tens of thousands of dollars on breaking a world record without verifying your Fruit vs. Vegetable status.

@Revis actually if you look into plant science squash tomatoes watermelons are considered fruits because they carry their seeds in a protective casing above ground. Anything that has edible roots ect is a vegetable, so carrots beets horseradish radishes ect. But yea any person or grocery store will call it a vegetable.

@snowyphil65 Although scientists will tell you that a fruit is seed containing fleshy thing formed after a flower has been pollinated, a linguist will tell you that some fruits are vegetables. Basically any fruit that isn't one of the traditional sweet fruits we think of as fruits is called a vegetable. What makes it a vegetable? A shift in the definition of vegetable that occurred when a large percentage of the population decide to make that shift. However the masses use a word becomes proper.
