While I like that this modification is getting the publicity it deserves I feel that the sensationalist editing of this video gave the heavily biased doctor far too much screen time, without ever letting the mod practitioner a chance for rebuttal, just lots of "money shots" of his tongue. I had the cutting done 2 times...the first cutting wasn't long enough so I went back and did it again...I had a 6 gauge piercing in it both times...and I thought about it for a year before I went threw with it and I couldn't be happier with the decision I have made...I tried both methods...the tie off was deffentally the worst of the 2...

I have been doing body piercings for a few years and am currently splitting my tongue through the 2g healed piercing. I am using the tie-off method and after 4 days, it is splitting. However, the tip of my tongue keeps wanting to "stick" back together over the line... Any suggestions???

yes...use the cutting method...take out your string and cut it...I'm sorry if u don't like it, but I tried the tie off method and it hurt for along time...with the cut off method I healed in about 5 days the first 3 days I needed to use gauze at night but durring the day time I didn't need anything...the cutting method was very easy to heal. Im telling you that the tie off method is something I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to do...
