She answers that this is a traditional word for russians, everybody does it. He thought we said it for children, when they make their first steps for example

I`m russian.And it is a little bit hard to explane the translation...We usually say Молодец to a person who made something really great!! I think the English variant is WELL DONE!! But Molodez is much more exited and emotional!!!

For example, you can say Molodez to a little child who makes the first steps or to people who study well! And probably we say Molodez to singers or actors if we like their work!!

There is the word in Russian "molodets" [mala'djets]. it is used for approval someone. So Sasha doesn't understand why we use it for approval both children and stars instead of bravo.
