  • damn, i love his scottish accent ^^

  • story of my life!!

  • sad the well behaivior of Indians get twisted when they live in the UK...between those sill white germanic piece of shit brits...its sad...a nice movie

  • @Roshan3L It is sad people that think like you are allowed to breathe.

  • It's true that no matter how English i sound or act, at the end of the day we are Pakis and foreigners because of the colour of our skin don't forget that people.

  • he should didnt mary the girl from ireland or from where she comes! His family did all for him :(

  • you should always do what makes YOU happy, noot what makes other people happy! ;-)

  • Just let him marry the gori.

  • gori?

  • gori means caucasian woman. i'm sorry if the word offends you but many people in Pakistan and India still use it.

Sometimes the word is seen as a compliment, like if you tell a South Asian woman your complexion is gori (meaning your complexion is fair) is taken as a compliment in South Asia.

  • Awrite :-D

I know gori for georgian, but would have never made that connection..

  • @ShehryarPakistani gori=white girl xD

  • @ShehryarPakistani very true part of the film, the battle between tradition and modernity.

  • @ShehryarPakistani LOL yes hhehehehe great dad, dad ye see.

  • Ae Fond Kiss! WTF!

  • personally i think its a load of bollocks pmsl when i was watching this clip

  • Course it is a load of bollocks, but funny tho :-D

  • What I like most about this excellent and thought-provoking film is that in my view is totally unbiased and made with complete objectivity.

An everyday life situation is depicted here with huge effectiveness by Ken Loach without taking any sides.he lests ithe viewern a very appropiate way to draw their own conclusions about it.

Besides, I also agree with the appropiate comment on the film made by joseonthekingsroad.

  • This has got to be the worst movie Ive possibly ever seen. Crap acting such a cliched and predictable plot sooo boring unbelievably bad dialogue and just complete rubbish. Its like they just got people off the street!

  • ooooh! when Casim said "respect my fuckin' choice" I totally fell in love with him! lol - great film.

  • Is the whole movie uploaded on here anywhere or anywhere on the internet?

I recorded it but it stopped recording before i found out the ending! That was last summer and i still don't know how it ends but i want to watch it!

  • Don´t think so, but it´s on ebay starting from 6 quid... ;-)

  • It's obvious the old man loves Kasim and is well-intentioned but at the end of the day his faith is blinding him towards the wishes of his own children... we might be told that faith and family are the bedrock of society but that doesn't always mean that this is right as we can see here.

    Great film

  • Excellent comment Jose . However I respectfully disagree with you in one small detail. Faith in themselves and deep convictions are precisely what makes the relationship between Cassim and Roissin succeed(at least for the moment). And it does despite all the setbacks they find in their pursue of shared happiness, whereas in my view, religion and its sometimes absurd ways of expression refrain people from being themselves messing everything up.

  • @joseonthekingsroad Well intentioned my ass! The jackass it clearly off his rocker...

  • i love that movie !

  • i love this film!! very romantic

  • his dad was soo funny..how the way he talks just cracks me up.

  • Simply amazing scene. Great film.

  • So romantic! I love this movie.

  • This clip wasn't romantic at all.

  • Maybe not the clip as a total, but his actions are.

  • Good point!

  • Thank you! =))

  • yeah, for him to be muslim and put the love of his girlfriend before his own family...yeah that is very romantic!

  • definitly =)

  • @truepureblue FUCK MUSLIMS!

  • Good clip. I think this film was set at my old school in Glasgow.Anyway, I imagine this type ofconversation/confrontation is taking place all over Europe.

  • not only in Europe..but all over the world, i'm sure.
