2012 Toyota Yaris revealed, interior and exterior design + model history

I think the exterior looks better than the previous generation. Good interior space and I like the panoramic sunroof, but not so sure about the look of the dash.

To my eye, the new nose is bland and ugly at the same time. But then, so is the new Camry and Corolla. (Eye of the beholder, I guess.) But, I like the new dash. I wish we could get a tach on the 3 door automatic here in the US. And a 5 or 6 speed auto transmission, too. Maybe next year? Should I wait or just buy another Kia now? Thank you.

They never gonna beat the succes of the first generation Yaris. That car was innovative at the time, this one will be driven once again by elderly people! :-(

I like the comparison between old and new, with explanation about why things were changed, etc. I kinda wished Toyota had bumped up the horsepower, but I can live with it as is. It looks terrific. Enough room for me and the pooch, plus an occasional friend. :-)

@Passengertrains4ever Why increase the horsepower? More horsepower means less fuel effeciency :). All cars got its segment... what if they would sell a Yaris with 200hp? Would be little weird right?

@MegaG15 No, me thinks 200hp is overkill :-) . I was thinking more like 115 minimum, to place it in Honda Fit territory. I like fuel efficiency, don't get me wrong. I did test drive the old Yaris and felt it needed a bit more power when accelerating from a traffic light. Beyond this, it's a great car all around.

My penis is bigger than this car. There is no point in making this small of a car a 4 door, make it 2 door and then you have much more cargo room. Ugly car. And for a car so small, its MPG is only like 1 or 2 miles more than the much bigger corolla....and much less than the bigger Prius....makes no sense! If this had 60MPG, then okay but otherwise, i don't get its appeal
