I agree with davelen1. The #1 player should play as many tournements as possible throughout the year. That is exactly what Graf, Navratilova and Evert did during their reigns, and they ended up their careers with over 100 singles titles each. Such records seem unachievable nowadays, since the top players of the last years (Williams sisters, Sharapova, Clijsters) rarely played full schedules, for different reasons. Maybe (and hopefully) Wozniacki can keep improving and change this development :-)

@davelen1 She plays a lot of tournaments and has consistent good finishes, she deserves #1. She's good for the sport too with playing so many tournaments, shows her talents to more people. Other players who might be more dominate on court only play limited tournaments, that's not how the World #1 should represent the sport in my opinion. Caroline has played 23 tournament in the last 52 weeks, World #2 Clijsters only played 14. If Kim would have played more, she'd be #1. Blame Kim, not Caroline!!
