  • I wish I could have visited the church during the times of these recordings! Such powerful and uplifting spirit-filled selections/sermons/prayers!!

  • Ebenezer still aint the same!!

  • Continued: At it's height from 1966 when founded until Mrs. Brown's illness and death in 2006, recorded over 19 albums and was nominated for a 1984 Dove Award and had over 100 members.

The video/music posting I have made of the Ebenezer Baptist Church Mass Choir are from those recordings and Sunday services. The "Mass Choir" in these postings no longer exist, there is a newer version of the choir at the current church, but not on this scale or style, it ended upon Mrs. Brown's passing.

  • The recordings I have posted are from a time and era @ the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio when the late Rev. L.C. Brown, Sr. was pastor (1947-'93) and his wife, the late Mrs. Doris L. Brown (1947-'06) was organist & Min. of Music. The recordings are at the church's old locations of 86 S. Ohio & 920 Fulton St. Both locations serve other churches. The church relocated again in 2009 under the current pastor.

  • is the old church still standing.what was the fate of the old church?

  • @ivanberry19 The old church locations at both 86 S. Ohio Ave & 920 E. Fulton Street are still standing. You can drive by 86 S. Ohio Ave today and see a couple of improvements to the building: Air Conditioning units and Glass Block windows. Another congregation is in the 86 S. Ohio building but I have no idea who they are or what their worship style is like.

  • im loving those soprano hitting those high notes.
