  • prolobe dot come

dude you are jesus over me.

  • great

  • GReat performances

  • It sounds great! I think it would be a good idea for you to try the YouTube Symphony thing that just got started by Tan Dun

  • very nice. The trumpet player needed some more practice... other wise it was very good. Is your name robert chamberlain? Because that is my name 2!! :). By the way, the trumpet playing gets much much better near the middle and the end. it would be very nice to mmet you. post a comment on my homepage! thx! :)

  • He is the Trumpet player, not Robert Chamberlain (it says on the details of the video)

  • no offense, flatness is due to to recording. I have OMG perfect pitch which has nothing to do with this.

  • Honeslty dude, this, is a Shostakavoich fun piece, they executely w/o orchestra. OMG so such pretentious attitudes.

  • Is is just me, or the trumpet flat?

  • awfulllllll trumpet player must work harder.

  • Now to be a critic you must give some constructive feedback if you can... I think he sounds good! This is very hard to play.

  • enjoyed very much. thanks.

  • I adore this piece. :) It would be fun to see this arrangement make its way into the regular trumpet recital repertoire! Very, very well-done, and great playing all-around.

  • Good job--smart not to use the exact Dokshizer transcription, I've seen a copy of the handwritten original which was totally illegible. He does write an introduction saying, in effect, that he was compelled to transcribe the piano concerto because Shostakovich never wrote him his own despite much pestering.

  • Personally I found some of the Dokshizer a little too bombastic in sections, especially such moments as trumpet playing the piano cadenza at the end of the movement - and the 'slide to high note' glissandos between the 'cavalry charge' in the coda. I felt the piano concerto wanted more delecate and poised transcribing for my like.

  • nice try. Fund Ate mo Movie.

  • Dude! nice... If you can find this song and play it you would sound good with this song.

    Celtic air and dance

  • Y do some people have the gall to write that spam such as below...

  • nice

  • i'm not familiar with the original version, but i really enjoyed your perfomance

  • I'm just curious--what model is the trumpet that you use?

Great playing! Only minor mistakes, but it's a long piece and you did so well!

  • Bach Strad 37G Bb.

  • hey i've always been wondering how you do that thing with the trumpet that sounds like really fast vibration.

  • It is a fast flutter tongue.

  • Yes.

  • Cool adn Funn!!!! I hope to play this concert. Great Job Dudes!!!

  • wow... naked..... right. so that was really good... at least the trumpet was. im in 7th grade and i play trumpet (1st chair!!) and that was really good!!

  • Bloody amazing great job guys!

  • Your lips must seriously die after this, great job! I've always loved this piece

  • problem was I was away interstate for 3 days. I'v just hit the "Block User" on him now :p

  • very tastefully done... messing with shostakovich is a touchy subject. well done. nice tone on the trumpet!

  • It is a rather unique performace. I remember a few year back i watched a similar one, but the musicians were all naked. Do you ever perform naked ?

  • Nope. The music is intended to be for academic and recital work, not a gag.

  • I've watched this over and over..I love it!! My favorite part is around 4.40.. keep up the great work!

  • aah the Russian Blatnye tune. (popular 'folk' style). That part was actually a major factor in me deciding to embark on the transcription project.

  • Love the work man, as one of our teachers once said: "keep on tootin!" - B Evans

    Matt

  • Writing your own music is pretty cool... I was going to go to music school then realized it would mediate my own creativity and take away my unique style. Then I realized no one wants to listen to music like this anymore...

But I gotta say, you rock at playing the piano.

  • thank you, really pleasant.

  • super nice music!!!

  • Shostakovich!!!

  • I like this music!

  • whoahh thats a big boy on trumpet.. Nice tunes guys

  • yup. Strad 37G, Mouthpiece is a Bach 2 (pretty big, notice no letter, it's deeper than a 2C)

  • i love the sound of ur trumpet ... if u can send me a message with the brand and the model i'll be very glad man, just 4 curiosity

  • Bach Stradavarius model 37 (37G specifically). standard leadpipe on that too.

  • thank u so much...uneasy to have an idea about trumpets sound

  • i really like shostakovich

  • If Shostakovich wanted such transcription he would have written it.

Why are you using music? Is it so hard ro learn it? Some musical misinterpretaions are present

  • lol. The idea of transcriptions is to make it different from the original. Check out Timofei Dokshizer's Shosta PC#1 version. I'm using music because this was the first and second rehearsal. Marking changes was likley to happen. I will perform by memory when I bring it on a PERFORMANCE you dolt, not on Rehearsal.

  • You sound great man!

  • Oh! I've been just thinking of arranging two piano ver. of this concerto into two piano plus trumpet reconstruction version of original piano, trumpet & strings. Your job is fantastic to me. Impressive!
