This is my favorite Bach concerto. Gould at his best, only he should have played it on the harpsichord.

Iv'e always been a Gould adept. Now i try to sum my history with Beethoven op. 109: I always consider this work an opus magnum, expecially when played by pianist like C. Arrau. After many hearings I start to get bored (? what a wrong term...) with Arrau interpretations an my consideration of this masterwork slightly change. After listening to Gould rendition I understand how this work should be played in an objective way.

I really, cannot figure out why Glenn chose to do this Bach concerto in Gm. He was genius for doing it, but I prefer his original Dm performance. It is absolutely haunting at how wonderful Glenn is especially in regards to Bach interpretations.

@EzraGoldstein This is originally Gm isn't it? Dm is BWV 1052 and Gould played in this code.

Una interpretacion bastante mecánica que no dice nada del concierto de Bach, lo cual es lógico pues Gould no puede hacer su música teniendo que tocar con una orquesta que a fin de cuentas no es nada del otro mundo.

Bach would be so proud to have an ambassador such as gould. an eccentric, he is absolutely amazing, and the sole reason I have started piano lessons again.. just to learn the BEAUTIFUL pieces that bach composed. this is my favourite bach concerto! and Gould plays it so beautifully..rythmically and musically marvelous. I have a CD with Gould playing this concerto...accompanied by a really big american orchestra...sounds amazing

Thank you for posting all the three movements of this concerto.

By the way, I would like to see this concerto played with the harpsichord. Because it's... somehow.... more baroque than if it is played with the piano.

It doesn't mean that this piano version is not good. It's good indeed. I love it. But, I prefer to see the harpsichord version.

However, thanks a lot for posting the all 3 movements. I appreciate it.
