M4A1 - Automatic (Engineer class)

M16A3 - Automatic (Assault Class, better long range damage than M4A1 but less hip accuracy)

M4/M16A4 have burst instead of fully-automatic to offer greater control, but I personally find it easier to hold down the trigger and manually counter recoil instead of being forced to fire bursts.

@TheSuperREALNIGGA the reason for sometimes 30 and sometimes 31 is because the mag holds 30 and one can fit in the chamber. so if you reload without finishing your previous mag you will still have the round chambered.

I seriously don't understand why they have an M16A3, an M16A4, an M4A1 AND an M4. They're all pretty much the same rifle with small changes here and there and different firing modes. That's 2 slots that could have been filled with a new, more unique rifle, IMO. >.>

@supergamer73 The M4A1 is shortened for CQC, it's considered a carbine whereas the M16A3 is considered a full-size rifle. Both are fully automatic and the M16A3 doesn't have as extensive of a rail system for mounting attachments as the A4. The only difference between the M4 and the M16A3 to those other rifles, outside of small technical details, is that they're configured into burst or single-shot firing modes to force trigger discipline and conserve ammunition.
