@djccchouse I have the Canon Vixia HF S10 (same camera but the S10 also has 32 GB onboard storage) and it does have a "mini hotshoe" for accessories ... lights or mic. They do make adapters also if your light is not made for the mini hotshoe ... or you could make one.
I am very confused. I just bought the Canon Hfs100 and have installed the supplied software, ImageMixer3. I am filming the video in 1920x1080 and I import it into ImageMixer as 1920x1080. It plays back as 1920x1080 also. The problem is when i try to export the files to my computer they are only exporting as 720x480. Please help!
Don't suppose we could twist your arm to get a closer look and rundown of your steadycam could we? It seems to behave pretty well. I for one would be very interested to see how you made it, your philosiphy of design, and specific parts. It's kinda weird I just stumbled on this. I too have an HF S100, vegas, magic bullet looks, and sitting right beside me right now is my home made steadycam that I can't quite seem to get properly balanced out to behave properly and resist sway.
god i wish i could make a steadicam just like yours man. How? I could see a counterweight and a cool tube - but i couldn't really make out any specifics... It looks a lot cooler than the DIY tutorials that I have seen thus far. We have the same camera but I MUST have some stabilization far beyond what the image stabilizer option offers! Please Help! I must have total coverage!

does it have an optical image stabilizer ? if it does, turn it off. you dont need OIS when you have a stedicam. real shooters would know that.
