Soldiers deserve all of our respect and deference, they do the job & face the horror many civilians can only imagine ~ exactly because the soldiers is there is your stay.
If you have an issue with the deploy of the soldier address your government leaders, not the soldier ~
But for the soldier stepping in to do these often ugly jobs it would be YOU filling their void or YOU suffering at their absence.
I applaud the soldier & think they deserve more of everything : )
@BobSit Many funeral directors have a man walking in front of the coffin for the first few yards when the cortege leaves a home. I would think that, because this is (unfortunately) a special occasion, he will walk most of the way in his purely ceremonial role. It's an extra sign of respect, I think.
@TheAnn2shoes I watched this on TV the man gets out the car and walks through the town of Wootton Basset , but the journey from the Airport to the hospital were they take these Brave young men is a 45 mile drive, Bless them, you wouldnt expect this man to walk 45 miles would you

@TheLegendaryShot no instead they gave the town the title 'Royal' which is a massive sign of respect from the royal family.

my greatest fear is that this little village will become famous for the bodies of servicemen lost in this pointless war....
RIP and my thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones....
God Bless You All.........

too late, most of the country already associates this village with the bodies of servicemen
