@feelingfade They are made to quiet the drums. So the drums do not overpower anything. What is wierd is when they are miced and have a drum shield (that's the technical term). Drum shields are VERY exspensive.

@Sjacob008 thanks. Sabians are great. not real experienced with Zildjian. I know they do sound great though. I'm also using the evans g2 coated heads. try using o rings on your heads to get a lower sound

Sometimes fills can be over the top, and this song is more assigned to simple fills... but anyway still this is a very good drummer, very smooth and just plain cool drumming :)

Sweet!! I went to go see Chris Tomlin in concert not to long ago in Birmingham AL! It was sweet!!! I'm 15 and i play drums and after that concert, if i was to go somewhere for drumming I would want to be a Christian Rock drummer! In Psalm 150 verse 5 it states "Praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals"! NO PROBLEM!!!!

I'm not trying to be a jerk, really, but you are highly overplaying. At 1:23, 2:11, 2:28 -- Listen to the Tomlin recording in those sections and see what's there. If all you played is the groove, made use of dynamics, VERY simple fills on the snare, maybe some hihat wash / ride on the crash in big parts, you could learn to play effectively enough to not need half that drum kit. Don't just be a drummer hitting a bunch of stuff with sticks, be a musician.

Hey Keith. I play over the drums and drop the low EQ to hopefully make it easier for me to drown out the orig. drums. I have to stay on time so the orig. drums can't be heard. Hope this helps

umm playing in church ? yea they can by loud haha i got a AAX studio crash and AA el sabor sabian ride more so for like a youth band lets say a concert haha. I find with B8 they dont have the sound "I" prefer

hey, thanks. well, there's a couple of ways. 1. you can play the music outloud on a PA speaker and play along and let the cam mic pick it up. that's not the best way. 2. you can play the drums outloud while you listen to the song on the headphones, let the cam mic pick up your sound. put the vid into windows movie maker and then add in the song and sync the audio/video together or 3. buy a mixer, laptop, drum mics, cable and recording software. that's what i do, but it's most expensive
