There is one thing I love about Tom . That is his smooth motion and he hits it with mostly the right side and the left arm is just a rope attached to his body and the club. Very relaxed and comfortable. Thanx to you Mr. Watson, you are a natural Golfer.

As far as I know, Watson himself has never described the role of the left arm in that passive a way. In fact, he has said quite the opposite. It is precisely the aggressive and proper movement of the left side and left arm that allows the right side to release as well as it does. These are not competing but complementary elements.
