  • No wonder that silly blonde is hot- no sun protection whatsoever!

  • I love it! I remember this ad. Everyone likes the blonde best. Giggle

  • Yep i remember the ad

  • that blonde woman looks like lynda stoner

  • @warhawkification Yes in more ways than one.

  • yep i want the truckie

  • yuk this stuff stank..

  • Oh the mamories...

  • Watching this ad makes me so angry about the political correctness today I bet they wouldn't show this ad today because they would be so worried about it being so politically incorrect I mean just look at this ad!

  • 4711 ice is my favorite Eau de Cologne!

    nice cold effect!

  • @grairsupra If you know where to get it now, don't keep it a secret!

  • @gupsnot 4711 ice is available in Germany at the factory MAURER & WIRTZ.

I bought 4711 ice in Germany.

  • @grairsupra Thanks so much for that! I haven't seen it in shops in Australia for years and years. I'll see if I can get it imported.

  • I could swear the truckie and the machineist don't even put it on, just pretending lol

  • Press 7 : repeatedly.

  • The stuff they/we could get away with in the 70's. I really think we have got way to PC for our own good.

  • @stickyw33d That is so true.PC is pathetic. What's the point if you can't have a bit of fun with life

  • Press 7 to see the hot bird wiggling her tits.

  • @imowtflol - that 'hot bird' would be aged in her fifties now...

  • @Imamummy2 So they wouldn't wiggle now, they would probably just swing.

  • Superb! She's a great looking sheila in yellow and thats when there was no stupid political correctness which allowed this fine ad to be on TV and become a favourite amongst many Aussies.

  • I grew up with these!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH for putting them up. Fucking love the 70s

  • It is Karen West in that video, possibly the most perfect looking woman of all time.

  • @weirpicki

    No its not Karen West.

  • I bet everyone who slathered that stuff on in summer now has head cancer.

  • @venuecam Funnily enough, I have a small sample bottle here that I have used and it hasn't dissolved any of my extremities that I have applied it to. I still have some left, and it actually still smells as good as it did when I got it.

  • 0:19 yellow tank top.

0:21 OMG NIPPLES O_O DO WANT

  • Everyone wants the girl.... I want the truckie !!

  • @SGH28N Ugh

  • i remember watching this ad when i was a teenager, now i know why i chased big titted blondes for most of my life

  • Yeah, I still remember that ad from the late 70s/early 80s - was a bit young at the time, but the memory did arise later in life as sort of archived wank bank data... The blonde bird on the bike with the nipples showing and the playfully orgasmic laugh - not the truckie. God there would have been some fondue and swingers a plenty in Australia around that time - and just in time before ads went form strength to strength...

  • Headlights are well and truly on! :D

  • a bit of 4711 on that blonde's nipples would work a treat... ;-)

  • probably carcinogenic....

  • @dajupe why do u say that? (i have wondered about some chemicals that were in consumer products of this time that may have been less safe than anyone knew.)

  • @BiggerThinking1 i look at what it was. see that it was pulled off the market, have a loose understanding of the standards that were in place in australia back then and then do the maths. in this case 1 + 1 equals a window.

  • @dajupe Need more than the fact that its no longer on the market - must be hundreds of thousands of products pulled from the market for commercial not safety reasons.

  • @BiggerThinking1 true. i was kind of trying to be funny, however i emphasis "i look at what it was"

  • Ok, I watched it back a couple of times and you can definitely see some nipple action through the blonde's shirt. Oooohhhh!!!!

  • @kemyran i never noticed

  • @AustralianAds I did =D

  • @kemyran And the truckie!

  • 0:20 jajajajajaj

  • 4711!!!!!

  • 0:20 Enough said.

  • "Cold as Ice"......Ahwww.....Ahhhhh....Ooooohhhh.....Oh SH*T....Im good!!! - Actually this stuff was really good....it smelt good and actually did make you cool. It must have had menthol or mint or something in it. Those were the dayz.

  • Awesome...if only someone could find the 4711 ad that Sherbet did...OMG that would be amazing !

  • @70s80sVidz Couldn't agree more! "Splash it on little girl and everywhere it touches is refreshed...", Daryl Braithwaite vocal. I remember seeing a "making of" that early version (c. 1971) where they explained the "water" streaming down during the ad was actually French perfume, because water didn't have the right look! Must've cost a friggin' fortune to make.

  • 'W-Class' Tram @ 0.23?....Melbourne made ad?....hehehe.

  • @superspit Well spotted!

  • @superspit Yeh blonie looks like she's riding by a housing commission high rise? Maybe she was in Yarra Bend?

  • @zaniac100 ummm....yeah?..lol.

  • 'W-Class' Tram @ 0.23?....Melbourne made ad?....hehehe.

  • now I still remembered this commercial till this day,i think the blonde had something to do with it.

  • Kevin Golsby (Naked Vicar Show) and Ross Higgins (Kingswood Country) were the two who did most of the voiceovers for Aussie tv commercials. Higgins did the Coco Pops commercial and also the Louis the Fly ads for years. If anyone remembers the irritating 'Where do you get it!' ads from the 80's...that voice belonged to Tex Morton.

  • How did nipples showing through a yellow singlet make it past the censors in this one?!

  • doesnt mattter, be glad it did show up. damn i wish i was born earlier than 79 cos that was the yr i was born.

she can ride me and ill make her " oohhhh"

  • oooooooohhhhhhhhh !!!

  • Has anyone got the ad for 4711 that Sherbet did?

  • Yes.......its the alcohol thats cooling.........we dont get this anymore........its not available anywhere. Perhaps thats just as well...........its bad for your skin.

  • I still have a bottle of this stuff. The scent of it takes me back to my childhood. Its 30 years old and still works. I think it contains menthol to give the cooling effect.

  • ha ha.now thats a funny coment:-)

  • I remember a 4711 ad that featured Daryl Braithwaite singing the jingle. Not sure if it was Sherbet doing the whole thing though, as it's been a while...

  • I don't remember this ad but my grandma had a bottle & it stunk! I also can't imagine why you would be putting perfume on your face??

  • You would put it on your temples and wrists and it would cool you down in Summer. It was amazing.

  • what about "woodley Field apple Shampoo" ?

  • Thank you for uploading this ad. Great memories. I wish it was still sold in the shops.

  • omg, this takes me back to when i was like 6yrs old.Never thought i'd see this add again..

  • yeah I agree with germanicelt life was bloody good back then.

  • Linked to my site's review of "baby it's you" by Promises, as girls like in this ad were the ones we were "watching"! Cheers and keep them coming! It is as cold as Ice and I still giggle when I see a bottle around today!

  • I remember Molly Meldrum saying ' She has a great future in front of her'.

  • Give me back the Australia of that time, any day.

  • Yeah, my Scoops and my Golden Breed t shirt and I was set.

  • Make you look crash hot. Even if you're not. Funny stuff.

  • @germanicelt That Australia never died. I saw it yesterday at Renmark/Barmera Field Day in South Australia. Lovely people.

  • So cologne is meant to be smothered all over your forehead??? I've been getting it wrong all these years.

  • Tried hard to remember this but I just couldn't until it got to the "oo-oo-oooh!" Then I remembered it. Great typeface on the "ICE" bottle.

  • Sensational !

I bought a house a year ago from a couple who owned it for nearly 40 years (since 1969) and in the garage I found an old bottle of .... BRUT ! As soon as I smelled it it just tripped me out.

Classic era 'cologne' from that era ? ...

    4711 Ice Cologne

    Brut

    Pino - D

  • I remember this ad, and recall how much the blonde on the bike enjoys "icing" herself.

Can't imagine a big burly truckie going for this stuff though.

  • he just couldn't take NO MORE!

  • Probably would have crashed his truck if he was watching Blondie do her icing thing!

  • Bloody funny!

  • While I'm here, does anybody out there know who did the voiceover? Whoever it was did lots of them. And my little girlfriend looks familiar, anybody know who SHE is? She'd have to be at least 50 by now.

  • got no idea who the voiceover was... don't know who the blondie was either....

anybody who comes forward with more info would be greatly appreciated.

  • Maybe her phone number..? LOL. Thanks for putting this up mate.

  • no worries... took me almost 10 years to find it!

  • She is - or closely resembles - Karen West. She appeared on the Paul Hogan Show when 1) Arthur Dunger does his push-ups and 2) Hoges parodies George Negus - she's the buxom babe in each of those scenes. Cheers.

  • That voice over guy sound very much like the voice over guy on the Torana hatchback 8 minute commercial.

  • @AustralianAds

The girl is Karen West. She was a model and made a number of guest appearances on the Paul Hogan show. She was also Playboy Playmate of the Year around 1981.

  • @sue412141 thanx heaps for the info... much appreciated!

  • @sue412141, Maxxply & @AustralianAds: i don't think it is Karen West, pretty sure she had a gap between her front teeth, which i can't see on yellow gal. I might be wrong though - Karen, where are you?! We can handle the truth! Also, model's audio has been obviously overdubbed with "twit" voice. Dyso

  • @thedys70 I do know for sure it's Karen and can tell you she turned 60 last November!

  • @sue412141 Okay Sue, spill your guts girlfriend! We want the goss here!

Whatever happened to Karen? I was thinking she was born 1958? 60th doesn't sound accurate? Can you PM me please?

  • This ad ran for at least 3 years. I had a thing for the little blondie on it, and I used to "study" her very hard! Hey, I was a teenager!
