@PrismaMD I am black and I went to korea, I think for White folks they see Asians as racist but believe me black people see it as normal because we get the same treatment in Europe and USA. I don't mean any hate but trust me, deep within just think about it.....
Think about a young black guy going for an interview in a southern all white school....how eyes brows would be raised!
@electricalbah I totally know how that would feel now that i'm here. Black people get even more stares here than white folks. Korean just aren't used to seeing (in person) people who are not Asian. Unless they live in Seoul.
Just wondering but do you get sent home if you don't pass some parts of the test. I should pass everything I've been getting yearly physicals for the passed five years
@PrismaMD Extremely ignorant. First of all using a racial slur for someone from Asia. Second of all, when you're a white person in Asia, you're the foreigner, not them. You should visit, it's humbling and educational.
I believe your country used to do that century ago for newly arrived immigrants with physicals. Look what's happening in America now....... Looks like there's no distinction between legal and ILLEGAL immigrants anymore.
I understand you are not advocating drug usage but Korea and other Asian nation needs real instructors who are motivated to teach ENGLISH instead of Clowns and other rejects.
Best of luck to you teaching in South Korea though......
@novajoke: The drug culture in North America is very different from Asia. I know some responsible, hard working and intelligent people who like to go home and drink beer or smoke pot in the privacy of their home. Qualifying, and the process to be a teacher in Korea takes time and work, and usually weeds out the clowns and other rejects. There isn't much drug use here, but Soju sold cheap and everywhere can create just as many "clowns". My video just gives a friendly warning to the foreigners.
@stephenworldwide Good to know South Korea is taking a different approach than Japan when it comes to hiring process for qualified teachers. Of course not all of them are Clowns but I've seen way too much in my country though. Best of luck to you, and I hope you can inspire Korean people to learn English faster than other Asian neighbors!! You know that best way to learn any language is to live in that country though. I have lots of friends in LA.
Drugs are drugs whether you are in Asia or North America though... It's very unfortunate that your country, Canada and European countries have rampant drug usage compared to other Asian countries.
I don't it's justification for usage of drugs just because person is hard working responsible human being.
The bottom line is that I really really like what South Korea are doing to take tests and do through background checks.
That's really cool, I'm the same way. I love just packing up last minute and heading out some place. Like on my trip to SE Asia, I planned my trip like a week before and then I just packed my bags and headed out for a month. I think I might do the same to Korea and do some traveling in Asia. The more I think about it, the more I want to do it. I just need to talk my friend into doing it. I'm sure you are and you are going to have a blast over there, have fun and be postiive about everyrthing.
You know America should enforce immigration laws though..... Looks what's happening in America now. There are 12 to 20 million illegals living in America now but no one really knows how many......... To be fair, I've carried my Green Card(aka Alien Card, Permanent Resident Card) when I lived in the States.
Congrats! Hey I really like your vids, good work. My friend and I are really thinking about teaching in SK. I hope you are having a good time there. Why didn't you become a teacher in Florida, they have like the easiest requirements of any state? I guess you can save more in SK and it's a good experience. I hope you keep post new vids, they're great. Thanks!
@ericr747 This wasn't all about being a teacher. It was also part making/saving money and another part living in a foreign land and learning new culture/language. I love this sort of thing, felt the need to do it more, break out of the shackles of my old life in the states. Glad you like my vids!
Is that why that state of Florida has one of the lowest standards of education in America or is it due to non-English speaking people going to public school burdening public services? I'm just curious...... Why ask why? Most of my friends when I studied in the States were from China, South Korea, Japan and India but for some reason they outdid their American students it seems...
@novajoke You have the right idea. I lived there for 10 years, and my sister became a teacher there a few years ago. Florida is a very large state with a huge mix of different people from all over the world. It's part of the culture, and most of the people are "not on the same page" with many core beliefs. It's a combination of things but education isn't something paramount to the youth and parents should be doing more about it.
I've been to Miami/ Ft. Lauderdale few years back. Nice area and lots of Spanish speaking people from different countries other than Mexico as well as Haitians(they speak Creole/French?) I understand some cultures/people do not value high education unlike others. That's why teacher gets the blame but it's parent's and individual's responsibility whether they want to emphasize education or not.

Hey man, love the videos. Hope that your past 6 months have been good for you.
Do you know of any hospitals in Korea that use hair tests in the drug test? My best friend is heading overseas and he is freaking out about it.

@therocklobsterboston I haven't heard about that. They take blood and you pee in a cup.
