  • someday J can endorse a pair of kicks...but for now, as long as i can afford a pair of kicks & a closet to put 'em in...I'm a put 'em on and walk these dogs" DOPE!!!

Pros do it so much we can't get it wrong! J-Live very underrated

  • This is pure Hiphop Music

  • Flawless use of this AI soundbite...and probably the best use of a sports soundbite EVER

  • Four people talking about practice.

  • @karamazovbeeeeeees More like 4 people that don't want to practice!!!

  • I missed this one. I have stacks of jeff and jay Live but never knew they had hooked up together. This is sick!!

  • ill...

  • So the sample's from the press conference, but where's the beat from? Or is it his own?

  • My immediate response to this song was Wooooooooooooooooooooooow....thoroughly impressed by J-Live's creative lyricism and the brilliant hook arrangement and timing of the excerpt sample of Allen Iverson in a press interview exclaiming , "not a game , not a game , we're talking about practice." That Iverson sample was practically seared into my mind when i initially heard this song on satellite radio.Clearly, one of the most distinct and mentally stimulating hip hop songs I've ever heard.

  • the orginal is think twice by bobby byrd

  • Mann I love this ish!!!! practice! We talking about practice! Not a game, but Practice. One of the best samples!!!

  • Yo this song makes me mad at hip hop today... amazing sample.... Dope song...... Smh Too Good

  • i dont think "real" hip hop will come back anymore than big band jazz music will come back. i am just glad i lived through that era.

  • Can't get enough of this!!!!!

  • FLAWLESS

  • legit son!

  • This is FAN-tastic!!!

  • Whoooooo in they right mind would think to make a track from AI's famous interview??? Genius beat....

  • ye buddy. love this beat.

  • Dope!

  • 4 people don't like to practice...

  • True Hip Hop!!!!!!!!!! and it never dies it just gets better with time.

  • I'm dissapointed that everyone is hating on Willard. Both of these artists were creative prodigies when they were 16-17 years old. Jeff and Willard are gifted and are maximizing the talent they are endowed with. The music that Willard made in the late 90s doesn't count because, then and now, is an actor/thesbian. When you talk music prodigies like Havoc & Prodigy, Roxanne Shante, Nas, Canibus, LL Cool J, even Soulja Boy (more so his business skills, young business/music talent combo) are that.

  • Well said, people. Today's "hip-hop" SUCKS. Love this song. And oh yeah...Pete Rock for Prez!

  • i guess he isn't homeless

  • this is dope! I rock this in the gym on tha regular....

  • Real Hip Hop

  • Whats the music sample in this? Main Source?

  • yep

  • @peter2563 the magnificent Donald Byrd :)

  • ayeee think twice!!! donald byrd i think! i also sampled allen iversons speach, check it out its on my youtube, called t"he practice" by Adj B prod. Elbee Thrie

  • *sigh* maybe SOME day hip hop music will be what it once was.

and the kids need this. whether society admits it or not, they need it.

i'm teaching my brothers about REAL music before they look up to Soulja Boy

or Waka Flocka for inspiration. that's trash. THIS is music. THIS is where it's at.

  • Damn!!!!!

  • dat samples just bangin!!

  • I love how j-live flips the sample at the end. "This ain't a hobby its a *practice*"

  • oooooh my goodness, dope

  • I gotta say, Jeff is definitely becoming one of my favorites in the music scene. Great DJ Great Turntablists Great producer & a Great sense of respect for himself not selling out & playing it safe. He is always trying to push something different to help better the scene. True Gee

  • Its been too long for me hearing something so well done! The sample is perfect. Jeff just put some wind in my sails with this one.

  • This is hot,i like this

  • Aside from production...Jeff is easily one of the greatest turntablists out there and has been from the beginning. Always a favorite of mine

  • this is sooo tight, i like the message and the fact the he used A.I. was tight. this song is just to sick

  • This is the best use of a sample I've ever heard. DJ Jazzy Jeff is so damn cold! Can't believe I've been sleeping on him for so long.

Enough of that.....let's talk about practice!

  • perfect sample...... damn.

  • I hear you man but we talkin bout practice!

  • jeff the man is a ledgend fuck will smith

  • Philly in here!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff is a legend! J-Live definitely held his own on the record. Loved it as soon as i heard it.

  • much love to philly.i miss philly.was up there 3 weeks ago.jeff is a legend like cash money.j-live is a dope mc yo.one of the best cuts on the album.

  • Whoa. Is it really AI that says the practice part? Thats cool.

  • hot sample..jeff did it again..he's definitely top 5..producer and dj's

  • Couldn't have said it better myself

  • dope azz song sikk azz beat i love it

  • I love The ANswer and this is a great sample

  • This is one of the very few rap albums I listen to these days. Recently, rappers have consistently showed their lack of creativity through their released albums. I hate to say it, but mainstream rap is dead. You have to actually search for the good stuff. You can't just find it anywhere.

  • I could nt agree more, return of the magnificent ftw lol. my fav song= practice , 2nd brand new funk 2k7,3rd = The Garden

  • all these new wanna be rappers/singers/producers need to listen to the words in this song. if you chase the money before you even have the skillset to do the job then that's a problem.

  • Wooooord

  • HOT SHITTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if yall like this track check out Footprints by A tribe called quest!

  • Yeah, thats a nice track!

  • my man.. u speak the truth...

    -.-

  • dope!!!!!

  • its hot but it sound like he dissin A.I but he's not

  • J Live is one of the Illist MC's in the game no doubt

  • j dilla - think twice has the same sample in it

  • i thought rhymefest was on this track? i gave some bad info. dont matter though this song is still ill.

  • Rhymefest is in Jeff and Fess on the same album ^^. You can hear the tune to jeff and fess at the very start of this song ;)

  • lol ai was like its practice when he missed it with the pistons

  • raw hip hop at its finest

  • Rhymes - Lies = Hip Hop.

    This exemplifies hip hop.

  • WORD!

  • 'I heard amateurs keep doing it

till they get it right But Pros

do it so much WE can't get it wrong.

    Now that's practice'

  • peace 2 da Godz 4 true Hip Hop

  • this is excessively dope dude.

  • this song and beat is wonderful. and great use of the greatest ball player ever. jazzy jeff is great. is this video real??

  • off tha fucking hook

  • Live Dj Jazzy Jeff and the fresh prince

  • J-Live and Jazzy Jeff... Back is the Incredible Hip-Hop!! What all the real Emcees need to do is collaborate an album together that'll kill all this mainstream shit! Not to many people can handle the rhymes and beats of this real shit so they rely on the radio..so sad

  • i agree 100% . ashamed about the bullshit on the radio

  • great song Jazzy Jeff killed it

  • Everything's on point!

    Lyrically...Use of Samples...Production.

    Great Hiphop.

  • that whole stomach acid and bile line is off the chain

  • This is hope for the bad hip hop we hear today! If this gets to the masses, hip hop will reach its pinnacle like it did in the early 90s, ya dig?

  • thats 4 sure.. real hip hop the way it was when jeff first started

  • That crap on the radio cannot be counted as Hip Hop. It's all pop. Hip pop if you will.

  • @trilltreo23 . Everything that you hear on the radio can't be considered as Hip-Hop. It's more pop than anything.

  • This is my second favorite joint on the album. Method Man kills it too hard tho.

  • Philly stand up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish they would collaborate on a whole album. J-live is a superb mc but his production for the most part is lackluster.

  • this song is class, my fav in his new album along with "hip hop" "the garden" "brand new funk 2k7"

  • yo this song can relate to anything i love it

  • this songs the truth!!!

  • true

  • Ill song!! JLive is helLA unda rated!!

  • If they are replayed elements...they are NOT samples..BUT I'm assuming that because they are uniquely sounding the same...royalties would still have to be paid...can anyone WITH SENSE clarify that.. As I'm typing this I'm listening to "Think Twice" by Donald Byrd and just heard the 'Duh, duh, duh' from the Main Source and they HAVE also sampled "Think Twice" so I stand corrected. Still big up to Jazzy Jeff that album ain't slammin'..but it's very good.. hopefully another 1 soon.

  • Their are 2 beats that Jeff used the intro part is "Think Twice" by Donald Byrd and once the rappin' starts that 'Duh, duh, duh, is replayed elements from "Looking At The Front Door" by Main Source. Also the tune called "Brand New Funk" ft. Peedi Peedi off the Track 17 off the Jazzy Jeff album has replayed elements from "Falling Like Dominoes" by Donald Byrd too. Big Up to jazzy Jeff that album is all good. Hopefully he continues to keep up the good work

  • ok i dont get it was he dissing ai?

  • No he was just using that part of that interview for the chorus of the song.

  • Not at all.......probably didn't have A.I. in mind, focusing on all the bad rappers out there that come out with one song (not even a good song), make millions , all along destroying the minds of it's listeners.

  • Youtube "J-Live - Braggin Writes" and look at the one of him at Cargo. Dude is beat-juggling and rhyming at the same time.

    Unenthused...ha.

  • I always pick up anything Jazzy Jeff DJ's on cuz it's guaranteed to be supa fresh!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Isnt this a Tribe Called Quest Beat?

  • très bon morceau du vrai rap pour moi c le meilleur son de l'album real!!!!!

  • Lol.. Allen Iverson isn't the legend. J is.

  • J-Live's not bad either.

  • this is a hot video. i ain't even know that's where he sampled the hook from and i wouldn't have known without this vid lol. matching up the video with the words at the hook could've been better, but then again it must be hard as hell. i know i couldn't do better.

  • Donald Byrd Think Twice.

  • porządny rap.the return of the magnificent .elo

  • This a great video!! Respect to Mr J!

  • this shit would have made a great video. this is my shit. love jazzy jeff.

  • very fresh..love the flow..
