If he was working in a combat zone, and he had his weak hand on the forward position of the rifle like he does at the 'contradiction time', he could still get up on target with nearly the same speed. He is still holding his weapon system and is ready to engage a target.

Too many people use that sling as a crutch, and they always get complacent, and the reaction time to get that gun in the fight is doubled or tripled . I didn't even let my SAW gunners run 3 point. And if they did run a 1 point, if they let it go the thing would damn near hit the ground, (full size m16). its for retention purposes only.

The square frames should narrow it down if you want to try looking but I assume those Oakley's he's wearing are no longer in production or may be custom fit to work with his ear muffs. They look close to Oakley FIVES Squared but don't match the release date. He uses a Blue Force Gear Redi-Mod for sure. Thanks for bringing up the speedloader, I thought Magpul built the product until I researched it.

Everyone has something to say.. Basically, you should think of a scenario that is likely or that you have expereinced and PRACTICE. it doesnt take a company to charge you a ton to do it. CRAWL WALK RUN. Do it with a buddy.. Have him watch you and critique. Save yourself the money and time. The only thing you need, is a place.
What if you are in a blackout situation, say there's a major storm. People try to break in and loot your house, and they're armed. You have your AR weapon system near you, but oh wait, iron sights, no light, no real grip. You start fumbling, you can't see sh*t, you fire, you miss. They hear, they fire, you're dead. Simple is good for a day at the range. For defensive shooting, combat is never simple.
@goldeneye007662 Interesting that you mention the word "fumbling" because if one has to wake up in the middle of the night and turn on different gadgets on their carbine, then fumbling is exactly what's gonna happen. If someone breaks in to your house and they have a flashlight and you don't, then game over because you'll be able to see his/hers exact location. If they don't have a light and you don't either then it's an even playing field. i feel that training is more important than equipment.

@krazzykid96 well look at it this way, having an assault rifle without a sling is like having a pistol without a holster. fine for the range but in a gunfight it could be very problematic. its designed so u can drop your hands off your primary without having to pitch ur gun in the dirt.

-1000 for a base line AR
-250 for a RIS
-300 to 500 for the optic
-300 for the all of the Magpul accessories
-1700 for the AN/PEQ 15 laser
-140 for the surefire light
So around $3700.

Costa is running a Noveske in some situations and those get expensive real quick, sometimes BCM, other times Magpul lowers and not sure which upper, maybe LMT, LWRC, BCM. Plus each weapon is probably not fully stock parts, ex: magpul lower, LMT upper, and BCM BCG, noveske PIG suppressor, etc, etc

@Anderasio What do you mean question his credentials? He is a real TRUE combat proven operator who has seen real COMBAT. There are mission reports, news reports, and interviews about an incident in Najaf Iraq 2004, of a base that almost got over run, he went in with a sniper rifle and made contact with 13 contractors. They together made 1000+ insurgents who were attacking, retreat...credentials? he would probably have a masters or a Phd in combat.

You downplayed his ability thus trying to undermine what and how he teaches by saying he didn't hit anyone in Najaf and failed scout sniper school. How did he fail? When? Did he re apply? Was he on the lens or trigger. What part did he fail? Since he was in MARSOC, I'm guessing he's not a failure and he has more experience, training and ability in his left pinky toe than you do. Just a guess.

@kennyjwi it was the stalking phase of sniper school so to answer your question stalking is before the range qualification. and obviously you do not know haley. he was never in marsoc. let me tell you why? he got off active duty in 2004, force recon was disbanded in 2006 and marsoc era began. and i would argue the training ability in the left pinky toe. still he was one hell of a recon marine. we use to call him hollywood haley because of his love for the camera. looks like it payed off

That's the Magpul MOE pistol grip, not the MIAD (MIAD has the removable back plates to adjust size were the MOE doesn't).

Everyone has something to say.. Basically, you should think of a scenario that is likely or that you have expereinced and PRACTICE. it doesnt take a company to charge you a ton to do it. CRAWL WALK RUN. Do it with a buddy.. Have him watch you and critique. Save yourself the money and time. The only thing you need, is a place.

What if you are in a blackout situation, say there's a major storm. People try to break in and loot your house, and they're armed. You have your AR weapon system near you, but oh wait, iron sights, no light, no real grip. You start fumbling, you can't see sh*t, you fire, you miss. They hear, they fire, you're dead. Simple is good for a day at the range. For defensive shooting, combat is never simple.

@goldeneye007662 Interesting that you mention the word "fumbling" because if one has to wake up in the middle of the night and turn on different gadgets on their carbine, then fumbling is exactly what's gonna happen. If someone breaks in to your house and they have a flashlight and you don't, then game over because you'll be able to see his/hers exact location. If they don't have a light and you don't either then it's an even playing field. i feel that training is more important than equipment.

Also, what if their light blinds you, not permanently, but there are plenty of light that could easily stun you.
I'm not saying that a PEQ on your rifle is very practical, but if they do it for sport, or they enjoy it, and have the money to spend on it, why not
