  • Speak American jive, clothier.

  • Does it help to be high to watch this?

  • why doesn't this actually exist? I was looking for 3DO emulators to play this and it turns out it was never completed. Who would lose interest or pull the plug on a Dolemite firefighter game? This is a cruel world.

  • Awesome video! My brain hurts!

  • Oh god there's more - Steve Albini & David Yow as pilots, fucking Dolemite as a video-game champion fireman, ALIENS?, the Boredoms... the world is a worse place with this not existing.

  • Mark Mothersbaugh gesturing with a sausage on a stick to Timothy Leary on the 4th of July. This is officially the greatest game never made.

  • This was created in the 90's.

  • The post-9/11 world has created some of the most esoteric art in recorded history.

  • @MrHenryFogg This was made in 1999... weird

  • Thank God this wasn't made-if it did, the universe would explode from all the awesomeness. Timothy Leary, Dolemite, Tony Hawk, and Boredoms all together? I can feel my head about to explode just thinking about th

  • the more I think about it, the more it seems you'd see something like this on adult swim...

  • It's like 911 times a million. And I'm just fine with that.

  • That's Steve Albini and David Yow over there

  • I AM TRIPPING FUCKING BALLS!

  • Who needs LSD when you've got this?

  • @Foxiesz Oh yeah! it's totally insane! the funniest game never made! Someone was high when they coded this craziness lol

  • Ouuuuuh ._.

  • This is the one time Youtube's crazy captions might make more sense than the actual video.

  • Okay, what the hell was that?!

    Lmao at Mark M.'s "Ooh!"

    And WTF rev. Stang?

  • why god was this not made?

If it wasn't for youtube this would've been forgotten like an aborted mexican baby left dangling on the Arizona border fence.

The world now has a great void called Duelin firemen.

  • IT'S THE BARBQED FLAVO OFTHE FUTURE !

  • the fact that this game was never released makes me sad.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm probably asking for something that nobody owns, but does any person out there own the soundtrack that was rumored to be released with this game? It was produced by the Boredoms and contained two tracks: (1) Epic Epileptic Apopalypse (w/ David Yow), and (2) B for Boredoms.

  • How did this happen? This kind of game isn't 'developed' or 'designed'. It can't be. I don't see how someone could set out to make something this batshit insane. Someone must have been making an 'Iron Angel of the Apocalypse' sequel or something, spilled Mountain Dew on the keyboard, and this came on the screen. This game is an accident, and it's the coolest fucking accident EVER.

  • mark mothersbaugh in all his glory

  • what the fuck did i just watch.

  • The abyss has gazed into me.

  • Brilliant

  • This video is a slap in the face of America.

  • ololol, you can't read.

  • This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. How I haven't heard of it until now is a mystery and proof of NHGH's influence. I now want to live long enough to see it made. "Bob" help me, but after that, I can die happy!

  • Oh my god -- that is amazing.

  • Agreed. Even more fun working with Rudy Ray Moore. There is a great story from this shoot about Dolemite making dice clocks. *sigh* The good old days...

  • The greatest video game that was never made.

  • DEVO

  • We're all DEVO.

  • "You'll cut a rug to the refried refrain in your brain when you witness the insane Duelin' Firemen!"

  • I worked with these guys on a mainstream TV commercial. I loved the Lost Boys.

  • God, I miss working with those guys. This was one of the most fun things I ever worked on in my comedy career here in Chicago.

  • Really? Care to provide more info on this game?

  • I wish someone could get a hold of that Duelin' Firemen song being sung by David Yow towards the end of the trailer.

  • you pick a side (two firefightin' teams) you compete in dances to figure out who gets to go fight the fires. drive to the fire, get your squirt on, get the girl, save the world.

    and

it happens on the hottest day of the summer

    and it IS glorious [;)]

  • VIRTUAL LEARY

  • The fact that this game was never made is evidence that there is no God.

  • This is an accurate depiction of the Internet.

  • From what I've read the plot for this game was that you were a Fireman whose job is to entertain the occupants of the Sears Tower after Air Force 1 and a Space Shuttle simultaneously crash into it. Basically there is no hope of rescuing them, so you are merely preoccupying them until they all burn to death.

This is one of the holy grails of unreleased games and I'd love to see if someone publishes a prototype of this.

  • Figures. Nintendo manages to poop out another Mario game every eight months and a one-of-a-kind premise like this gets nixed halfway though.

  • \m/

  • "Oh shit, we haven't done any graphics yet and our presentation is due tomorrow!" "I know!"

  • These were 'cutting edge' low-budget FMV graphics for the time. (1994)

  • Pre 911!!!!!

  • what the fuck

    this is glorious

  • yeah I want this

  • I dont understand what this vid is about but this game needs to be made

  • this looks fucking genius

hopefully a prototype of it will surface someday

  • whoaa thats timothy leary talking bout the shuttle being a fax...awesome!

  • i got high for the first time in my miserable life last month and this was the first thing i watched.

  • fuck yeah!

  • best game never made

  • I saw this years ago, and it's still the scariest thing I've seen in my life, seriously.

  • Did anyone catch the Japanese flag on the shuttle, despite it saying United States? But, I can't blame them, mainly cause they were on some sort of drug when making this video.

  • holy shit! I'm TRIPPIN! I HAVE THIS ON 7 INCH RECORD!! I bought it cause I was a Jesus Lizard AND Boredoms fan, and when I saw the record I was like fuck yeah it's mine! I couldn't believe it It's clear red vinyl if I remember right. I'll have to dig it out. The song on there is called Epic Epileptic something... wow, had no idea about this film!

  • That's absolutely brilliant - thanks for sharing. All the best, 3DOKid

  • I met Runandgun, the company that was trying to make this into a 3DO game, at the CES in 1996. I still have a bunch of the promotional materials they handed out (stickers etc). As far as FMV based games, it would have made for one of the most interesting ones on the 3DO game system. I was actually hoping the idea would get seen to fruition but it never happened.

  • David Yow!!!! That guy's stomach is legendary. Love 'im.

  • okay it's been a good year since i last saw this and i'm just chiming in to say that it is STILL the greatest thing i have ever seen in my life.

  • MEATBALL FOOTBALL.

  • "The President and her husband on board"??? Sounds like Hillary Clinton is going to be president... everything else prophesied in this video has already come true, such as the attacks of 9/11.

  • I remember wringing my hands waiting for this game to appear, I still have the friggin' issue of 'Video Games'from October 1994 that pimped it. OH! I wanted it so badly. Yeah, post 9/11 it takes on an even weirder light. CUMON! One of Youse Developerz must be able to cobble up a version!

  • this is not to be watched on acid

  • Kids, Don't do drugs.......looks what happens when you do.

  • kinda reminds me of Saul of the Molemen, in effects and random style

  • my brain hurts...

  • credits list...makes...brain hurt....

  • OMG 9/11 was planned using this video but they used NYC instead of CHC for fear of copyright infringement

  • this was possibly the finest thing I have ever seen

  • what..

    the...

    fuck...

    was...

    that...

    ???...

  • Who the man? YOU the man!

What the fuck? THAT the fuck!

  • Wow! That was great! ..What's a 3DO?

  • wha the mother fuck just happened!

  • What the fuck.

  • Quite a bit of forshadowing with a plane and the space shuttle hitting a building.

  • Looking at it again more than a decade on, it seems even more delightfully insane. I was just telling a friend that this was the "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" of Chicago productions . Virtually every working performer in Chicago shot scenes for this. Many of these people were mainstays of the Old Chicago Improv. Notably, Paul Goebel, Graham Elwood, Jim Kopsian and the Ectomorph guys and many others. Those were great times in Chicago!

  • intresting.

  • You'd think that something containing Steve Albini, Mark Mothersbaugh and Boredoms at the same time would rock. But this was just one big "WTF" moment. But then again, is it really surprising that Albini, Mark and Boredoms would be in something as random as this?

Also, the director Grady Sain (according to IMDb) worked on an episode of Tom Goes To The Mayor, which isn't totally surprising either.

  • I was an extra in the dance scenes shot in a South Loop loft in the early '90s. First time I have ever seen this. I was told this was supposed to be a CD-Rom game for 3DO (a now defunct platform) where two teams of firemen roam around to different parties raking inpoints by entertaining the doomed with musical performances, ending with a huge blue-grass showdown on the steps of the Board of Trade. The winner being signed to a Japanese record company and air-lifted to safety.

  • the chris carter presence made me so pleased

  • Seriously, they should just try to put the footage together into feature-length (or short film if there isn't enough) and start hitting the midnight/cult circuit, maybe double-bill it with Forbidden Zone or something.

  • Damn this game for never being completed.

  • This is so goddamned greatest, it opens a can of superstring whup-ass on the entire universe.

  • Oh my lord jesus, what in God's name what that insane shit?

  • The greatest game ever EVER, that's what.

  • God damn the 90s were wierd.

  • that's why i love em

  • Comment removed

  • i have no idea what the hell that was, but it was awesome.

  • Needs more slack.

    Still awesome.

  • The fact that there was more than one person doing the animation makes me sad.

  • I understand there's a cult in California that worships this video as a god.

  • Smoke some more Crack and see what else you come up with, jesus christ.

  • Maybe they should smoke your crack!

  • It has been months since I first saw this, yet it is still the greatest thing I have ever witnessed.

  • My brain... what... was... that?

    Ouch

  • This is the greatest fucking thing on the planet.

  • Whatever it is I just watched, it's awesome!

  • What the hell?

  • Duelin' Fireman just dancin' around... YES!

  • Well, I just added a new thing to my "to do" list:

Get ripped out of my head and watch this.

  • FYI, this was actually video footage for an early 90s FMV videogame for the 3DO that never materialized. It was never ment to be a stand alone film, LOL!!

  • Best 7 minutes of my life I ever spent.

  • I just watched this drunk, but something tells me it's not going to make any more sense sober.

  • yeah... an amazing trainwreck

  • AMAZING

  • This actually some trippy stuff. Go Mark! (and Albini!)

  • Opps I meant to say "This actually is"
