  • Impressive performance of a virtuoso composition. Like Hindemith, Barber composes a fugue--polyphony held together by the underlying tonality more than than the identity of the subject--in a highly chromatic language. While it is exciting for awhile, it smacks of puzzle solving and thwarts listener's attempts to listen to the parts making a magnificent composite; rather what we here are parts, held together by shape, but not much of a composite sound. Yet I do want to listen again.

  • Well played - enjoyed that.

  • I love this piece but Im typically disappointed by its performance. All I can say after three listens is thank you. Thank you for working on it, thank you for bringing it to this level of performance, and thank you for sharing with us.

  • Have you listened to Terence Judd play this (it's on YT)? You positively won't be disappointed!

  • Awesome! This is one of my preferred Piano Sonatas, and you did it very well! It's a very hard piece...
