  • You are amazing graceful and so so helpful <3 thank you

  • man how did i get here??

  • I finally got chest hooping with arms down! I could hoop with my chest but I could never get it to flow with my arms in there. Now I like it with my arms better than without them!! It's so much more fun and fluid. And its a lot easier to bring the hoop from waist to chest with my arms in there than without. I like the way you break down the motion and state the more difficult parts when learning, because it makes the viewer more comfortable when they reach the said "difficult part".

  • Just came across this video. Not sure why I'm watching it as I can't hula hoop...:/ But it looks really amazing so I have a couple of questions...

Is there a point where it becomes too late to pick it up, or can you start at any age?

Also, if you can start at any age, what size should you get?

  • @SpottyBlueSheep your age does not matter, give it a try, it is very fun and it is good excercise! a good size is the lenght from the floor to your belly buttom and it has to be a llittle bit heavy.

  • @danielavarten Thanks! :D

  • i love it.

  • i also don't have tape on my hoop (except a plain black one. i don't know what type it is b/c the seller did it in black only for me). could that be why i'm having problems with the legs? no idea about the arms for no arms hooping though cuz it still goes up to my neck

  • when i shove it with my arm for the no arm hooping it goes back up to my neck ( and very quickly so it literally takes my breath away haha) what am i doing wrong? i look like u in the video.

also, as for leg hooping, i still can't get it. it'll usually stop at my thighs only no matter how much i try to get it to my waist OR it'll fall straight down to my knees (thus fall)

    any advice?

  • you are such an insipratiojn to alot of people! thank you for these great videos

  • Another fantastic tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in such an inspirational way. After watching this tutorial, I managed to master nudging the hoop up to my neck very quickly. The first time I did it, it ended up on my neck and I was so excited I forgot what to do next! : ) Your "love the process" video is so great, I watch it whenever I need some encouragement!

  • I've been trying chest hooping and it's not working out thus far... I can't help but wonder would having large breasts making chest hooping difficult..if so I'm screwed..

  • @nirvanahopeful no.. i used to think that too, but then i saw a video of a girl with huge breasts hooping perfectly on the chest! i can't do this either :( i can only hold it for like 5 secs.

  • What kinda of hula hoop do you use or does one from like target or Walmart work just as well??

  • Nice vid really helped me out :) but I got to ask were did you get your skirt?? :o

  • It looks so easy.. so far my hoop has smacked me a few times in the face and my lip is now bleeding.. I have no idea how much more pain I have to endure until I get this right! I'll keep trying though. btw, I bought a 4 lbs Acuhoop; are there any tricks for a 4lbs hoop?

  • Hey girl im just starting to hoop im a beginner, and i have notice that your hoops are smaller than the one i have just made, so whats the correct diameter, and another question, is it normal when im trying the chest hooping that my boobs become an obstacule? thank you very much you are awesome!

  • @normamora Size of hoop does not matter. ;D

  • i have really tried at chest hooping but i am not making any progress, my hoop is quite small, could this be the problem? my hoops is only about 30inches in diameter, thanks :)

  • @Maisieelovesyou ummm... yes!!

I started with a hoop that was 42"+ bigger is better for core hooping when first learning.

  • i love your videos SaFire! but do you have any advise for me? i try so hard to chest hoop but it always keeps going right up to my neck. what am i doing wrong?

  • imagine what she could do in bed..

  • I do not know how i came acorss this video. But if i had the time i'm sure you would be able to teach me. You are very well spoken

, explaining perfectly and you have the hoop spinning with great movement. Enjoyable video

  • Is there to use specific hula hoop, or any hula hoop like regular? Recently, I become more absorbed with playing hula hoops with tricks, so I want to learn to use it :)

  • any advice to someone who can hoop over the arms but not the chest? im a36 d and wondering if thats my problem. lol.

  • v v nice my Deer. I m Marium from Karchi Pakisan.onlyone hooper n founder of hooping in my region. Also trenner n instructor of 800 youngers in my region

    .I m only 14 yers old.

  • Hi!Your videos are really helpful but I have a few questions.I have been practicing the chest hoop moves by starting the hoop around my neck, then nudging it down with my shoulder, proceeding with the "cat cow" movement of the upper body. The hoop will spin across my chest area a few times at an angle, then fall down. I have been making sure to keep up momentum & have tried spinning in the opposite direction to keep the hoop up on my chest and horizontal but this isn't working. Any advice?

  • Amazing! Your grace and beauty when you hoop is so inspiring, and your tutorials so helpful! Thank you so much ♥

  • It's when I hoop with my arms in btw

  • I'm mimicking your movements and the hoop either goes up to my neck or spin and a tilt before falling. What am I doing wrong :(

  • wat material is the hoop made from, cuz mine is plastic with water on the inside. Do you think i should get a wooden one, or any other kind? thx, also do u know a website off of which i can buy gd hoops?

PS: u truly inspired me 2 start this amazing hobby

  • @chasa96 you can get hoops off of ebay and amazon ( I just ordered one from ebay :)

  • You're videos have really been helping me with my hooping! I started just a month ago but thanks to you I can move my hoop up and down my entire body(except from knees to waist, I'm still working on that one) but I can't seem to get this chest hooping thing down. I don't know if I just need more practice or what but the hoop keeps falling back down to my waist. Any tips to help me?

  • @UchihaAxel987 Chest hooping take a long time to solidify. Try sitting down when you practice. ; )

  • @FireSandra ok, I just wasn't sure if it's something your supposed to get right away or not. Everything else so far I've gotten pretty easy this was the first thing that really stumped me. I shall try that as soon as I get the chance. thanks so much!

  • i wanted to get a little better at shoulder hooping before i bought your class (budding 2) and this is perfect! thank you! :) i'm at budding 1 1/2 haha slowly moving forward. you are an amazing teacher.

  • Thank you for this! I'm a new hooper and have been trying to figure out chest hooping and this has helped a lot. Looks like it's so natural for you :]

  • I like the parts where you seem to be dancing despite of the hoop. as opposed to the beginning where you are moving your arms strictly for the hoop. It seems more impressive when your dancing and effortlessly hooping at the same time.

  • You are great and your tutorials are so very helpful. What are the dimensions of the hoop you are using here and how heavy is it? Also, where can I buy a good hoop dancing hoop, I have a hoopnotica brand one and it is huge, 42in and also pretty heavy, around 2lbs so it is hard for me to get a good flow going if i want to speed up. Im curious as to your reccomendations on hoops, Thanks!!

  • @uhhlysaa 36 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch this, superpex available in Canada.

It doesn't matter how heavy your hoop. It doesn't matter what hoops others are use. Use as many different hoops you can, you'll find one you like for yourself over time.

I no longer use this tubing but I loved it 2 years ago.

    SaFire

  • @FireSandra what tubing do you use now?

  • What diameter size hoop do you use?

  • *love*

  • I've been having trouble rotating the hoop around my chest (with arms) without constantly spinning my entire body in a circle (so it's hard to change to a vertical spin). I love how your tutorial is in steps! This is a great method of teaching. Thank you! practice, practice, practice right?! :o)

  • I'm having trouble rotating the hoop around my chest without constantly spinning with it. I love how your tutorial is in steps! This is a great method of teaching. Thank you! practice, practice, practice right?! :o)

  • I have been having trouble rotating the hoop around my chest without constantly spinning with the hoop (which makes it hard for me to go into a vertical spin) I love how your tutorial is separated into steps! Thank you so much! Practice practice practice right?! :o)

  • ur so cute!! are you using a weighted hoop?

  • you are soo CUTE! your tutorials have really been helping too ;)

  • I'm trying to figure out how to get the hoop from waist to chest, I can't even try to get it to my neck yet.

I keep really bruising my elbows doing this, and I'm not even moving my arms out of "penguin" like you showed :) I'm also really bruising my forearms.

I just can't seem to shimmy it up right... I seem to be fine on timing, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with my shoulders. Do you do anything with your knees for this move? Its hard to see them :)

    Any advice appreciated :)

  • Where do i get one of those hoops?

  • ok now... what about those of us with boobs? this is nearly impossible it seems

  • @bubbleetoes ...

I agree!! I have boobs and am finding it pretty hard!

  • Oh my .. that looks awsome!!!

  • your so hot i have such a crush on you

  • Mucho me cuesta trabajrender ya qe no soy muy experta

hablando ingles :/ eso no es un obstaculo para mi

muchas gracias por sus cideos he aprendido mucho gracias a ellos

aunqe el ingles no sea lo mio

    muchos saludos sandra!

  • That was AWESOME!!! I couldn't get the chest hooping with my arms in the hoop, but this made it so easy to understand ^_^ Thank Youuu!!! <3

  • how do you stay facing forward when youre hooping on your chest? i keep having to turn to the left...

  • i'd like to hoop her chest

  • the shoulder shrug really helps, thanks! ^^

  • I just started hooping and absolutely LOVE it!

Thanks for the video, it's really helpful to watch other people explain things and do them!

  • i've finally learned that a much bigger hoop than i've been using is way better when first learning chest hooping. thanks for the tutorial

  • wats the song in the beginning please? :)

  • @SaraLou22 it's a bassnectar song, either so butteryfly or debausca i think? not totally sure.

  • @SaraLou22 the song is debausca by bassnectar i believe

    :)

  • i have a question. i can hoop on my chest with my arms in the hoop, but i continuously have to keep turning the same direction as the hoop is turning (left). how do i stay in one place?

  • ::thumbs up:: hehe 8-)

  • Great tutorial!

One of the best instructors I've seen so far on Youtube...

  • what size hoop is used for this? and is the hoop light? I made my own hoop but it's too heavy.

  • This has really helped me, i am still in the process of getting it right and it is very painful experience. i have a lot of bruises and have punched myself in the face by accident a lot. haha, Thank you!

  • wow it doesn't even look like you are moving your shoulders at all amazing I envy you!!

  • Finally, someone else who hoops to the right! In all the other tutorials I've seen, the instructor hoops to the left, so I have to figure it all out in reverse! I've only been hooping for a few weeks, but I can angle the hoop, bring it up into and out of lasso with both hands, the basic stuff. Chest hooping is my biggest feat, but I'm getting better!

  • @ZoeSquared21 I usually hoop to the left, but I found that by switching my feet (having my left foot forward rather than my right) I can easily hoop both directions.... I figured out this trick bc when I first started hooping, I did it so much that I got sore so I just hooped in the other direction lol

  • I'm just a beginner, and your tips help so much! Thanks for all your help! :) You've inspired me too, you have such grace, I need to work on that, I think when I master the moves, I will be more graceful at it. thanks again!

  • Hey! Thank you very much for yours videos, which gives inspiration, motivation, wonder, and a lot of jealousy xD But I have 1 request! Could you make a tutorial to explain..(outch, i'm french, it's difficult to explain in english) how to , keeping the hoop in the hands, make it go down around the body and take it back up above the head...I don't find where i have to put my hands ^^ It's would be wonderfull... thanks, and bonne continuation!

  • Love your videos- you have such style and grace. Your tutorials are very helpful. I love hooping and am trying to learn as many new moves as I can and just practice as often as possible so I can get better at it. I just love the way I feel when I'm moving in my hoop. I like your room by the way too. Has a great energy and feel to it. :) Thanks again for sharing!

  • i dont get it ????????????? i wish i knew u cause i need help i have a talent show tomorrow and i picker holop

  • i didn't really try chest hooping. but i lifted 1 arm and then then other when it was on my neck

  • Comment removed

  • totaly feminine,

  • With me i got neck hooping before i could bring it from my waist to my chest, actually still can't bring it from waist to chest!

  • I wanted to thank you for all the videos that you have posted. It inspired me to hoop for the first time and I can hoop upto 3 hoops now. The only thing I could not masted yet is knee hooping (and reversals) :) Anyways, I created my youtube account today, so dropped in the thank you note I have been wanting to for months now! God bless!

  • is your name miss barker in classes as student teacher at Nourth View.

  • nope.

  • my god! you're good!

  • lol you make it looks so easy with arms. Its a lot harder for me because i have a bigger bust and the boobs plus the arms make me more of a triangle shape. Should i be arching my back more for that circular shape? It just feels so awkward.

  • I understand your pain, I feel like my boobs are getting in the way to. Im also struggling with this move. I guess there is bound to way to do it because I thought I wouldnt be able to get chest hooping with em and I finally got it. So there HAS to be a way to get this. :p good luck

  • lmfao...even though america does have the highest obesity rate, not ALL people are fat here

  • When I try to hoop around my neck my hoop pulls down and tries to come down my right shoulder. How do I get it to stay straight up around my neck ?

  • Drop you shoulders and keep your back arched.

    Much love,

    SaFire

  • Are you for real? I watched all of your videos and the only thing I can do is loop it around my waist. I tried to put my hands in there but that;s just impossible, the hoop's too fast!! I wanted to take lessons but they don't do that in holland. Guess I'll never learn haha this is just impossible for me

  • hey girl!

what kind of hoops do you use, they look bigger than the kid ones, but not like the exercise hoops, i'd like to find some hoops like yours, suggestions?

  • man ist der reifen groß xD

  • Sweet I finally got it to stay up!!! Thank you so much, this has definitely been the hardest one, for sure!

  • it doesnt work for me maybe its because im using 5lb wavy hoop?

  • These are very helpful, thank you!

  • Damn. It's incredible. The way you move, is so natural and unforced. Just like... not controlled. From out of you.

  • great teaching. what size/weight/width etc. hoop do you use? i have a 100cm 1kg hoop but i think it's too heavy and i'm getting bruises...is it the way i'm using it or would you recommend a different hoop?

  • You're such a natural and so inspirational!

  • where do you get those nice hoops?

  • Yes the 4 point prep is helpful, but I learn't this turning before being able to do this facing the front

  • Do you think you can do a tutorial for vertical chest hooping?

I've seen only a couple tutorials and they weren't really helpful...

    thx! =)

  • Will it hurt if the chest is big?

  • Wow. your so good with your hoop. I have been practicing on and off for nearly a year and i'm nowhere near at your stage. I don't have the space to practice so i end up waist hooping most of the time. I'm gonna check out more of your vids, thanks :D

  • ouch my shoulder keeps getting hit.. when it rotates at the neck

  • i LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!

    tHANK YOU

  • Ur such a great person, Sandra. Im from Norway, and ust started hoopin, and I cant tell u how much I love ur tutorials! Thank you.

  • I just had a break through with chest hooping but I am having a problem with the hoop going to my neck (or just hitting me in the face). How to you keep the hoop on the shoulders without going to your neck? Besides just practice practice parctice and having control! I am addicted (and black and blue)

  • awesome!!! I keep telling my girl that she should learn to spin the hoola hoop:P well done!!!

  • Exactly what I needed, THANK YOU!

  • I was just wondering because im extreemly intrested in doing hoop dancing and the one concern i have is that i wonder how easy it is for larger chested weman to shimmy up and down as well as just using my chest. Do you think i might incounter a problem?

  • You'll be able to do this only you have the advantage of a "shelf" for your hoop. ; )

    ~ SaFire ~

  • Thank you Sandra,

I cannot wait for your online hooping classes to begin!

  • Yaahhhh!

I'm excited too! I've been at the studio ALL DAY taking footage and editing more tutorials.

I'll be so good at editing by the time they are all covered! There is so much to cover I don't think I'll ever have to stop!

  • They're clearly defined.

    Nice vid btw.

  • Its very rare to see beauty, grace, talent, and passion in a performer anymore. I think you are amazing at what you do, keep up the good work : )

  • does it hurt your tits

  • whats the song at the beginning and whos it by?

  • Eastern Sun - Rapture at Sea

  • help! i'm so bad at chest hooping. i think i've been practicing for a week but i still can't get it.

  • One week is very little time to learn how to chest hoop. Some folks are talented, but the majority needs quite some time for your muscles to get flexible and responsive enough. Took me two months to learn the basic stuff. So no worries, you will get there guaranteed!!! :)

  • Hey, Safira, I love your videos! I was wondering if you could give me some help. I'm one of those smaller girls with bigger boobs, and because of my "boob shelf" my chest hooping is almost permanently vertical. But the time I get it horizontal, it's up to my neck! Any thoughts or tips? Thanks!

Your videos have helped me with so much!

  • i had the same problem gettin it up past my "speed bumps". uh what i do is just go a tad above them and hoop a little faster to get em up n over.

  • I've finally started to get the hang of chest hooping with arms in, but the hoop keeps wanting to pop back up to my neck. Do you have any tips for keeping the hoop in one "orbit" around your shoulders? Areas I should focus on for better control?

I love your tutorials, I have learned so much because of them!

  • Tuck your elbows in ;P

  • muy bueno excelente para mantenerte muyyyyyyyyypero muyyyyyyyy ocupada

  • your like...a godess or sumthiN..

    That will be all

  • In motion you are absolutely entrancing. Breed with me and I will give you strong children.

  • I don't know if you have ever heard of something called "Cosplay" before, but if you were ever interested in trying it, you would make a really incredible Tira (from a video game called, Soul Calibur!

You should really think about it - I think people would flip out if they saw you do that act in a Tira cosplay - plus you might like the character a lot, since you have Hoops and Dancing in common!

    Great Job! :)

  • i finally have chest hooping down and this video was a big help! now i'm working on chest stalls and reversals, any tips?

  • Okay this was REALLY hard for me! But i have a tip. Instead of just tilting your shoulders inwards do inwards AND outwards. so yeah :)

  • just 3 weeks ago, i was only able to hoop around my waist. Now i'm able to do most of the tricks i learnt from your clips. you dissect the steps very intelligently. SaFire, you're a natural guru. thanks for inspiring me into hooping at 2 am. much blessings.

  • Will you also be giving a tutorial on neck hooping with shoulder rolls / duck outs??? I hope so because I'm going to lose my neck soon :) I can't wait for the corkscrew and the vortex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sandra, I think you're a great teacher. I'm able to follow your moves without a problem unlike other hooping tutorials. I'm having a problem with the corkscrew and the vortex which was shown on another tutorial. I know if you demonstrated those that I would get it. Would you be so kind?

  • Hey hey,

It's definitely on the list. That one will be a detailed tutorial and I'll try to do by best.

    ~ SaFire ~

  • do you suggest for a beginner hooper buying a medium weight hoop or heavy weight hoop?

  • wow i think im in love lol

  • What size hoop are you using here? Is it 3/4" round? It looks smaller than a 1".

  • Hey Sandra, I was curious if you could make a tutorial on isolation's? Or if you could show us (in the beginning of your $1,000,000) the trick you are doing on the time of 0:29, when the hula hoop is in front of you. It looks really cool and I am sure lots of hoop dancers would love to know how to do it! Thanks!

  • Yep, I can so do that!

    ~ SaFire ~

  • Hey Sandra,

  • ok. so, i was reading some of the comments and i looked back at the video and it's spinning arond yor neck!! Doesn't that hurt!!??!? Then i saw you at about 2:14 chest hopping with no arms, now thats gotta hurt! doesn't it?? Sorry if you mentioned this in the video but i have no sound. Can someone reply with whether it hurts or not, cuz i reckon it's possible i might get one of these :)

  • I hoop dance! No it doesn't hurt at all! Mean chest hurts a lot but you don't have to do it forever. Neck doesn't hurt at all unless you have a really heavy hula hoop! Hope this helps you!

  • :D Thx!!

  • I change that chest hooping doesn't hurt :)

  • Chest hooping doesn't hurt, unless you do it wrong. You're actually hooping above your chest a little, so its not uncomfortable at all. I personally like it better than hooping around my shoulders. When I first started doing it around my neck, because I was using a pretty heavy hoop, but only for the first week or so.

  • lovely cool moves

  • I've been trying for a couple days now to hoop around my shoulders. I didn't realize it would be easier to do it without my arms first! This was very helpful!!

  • seriously I'm totally charmed wow.. what's the song please?

  • i've just learnt to chest hoop and now i'm trying to go in the other direction. i've found it really useful to turn in the direction of the hoop, and move the hoop round with your soulder. i think it gives you a bit longer to move how you need to, then once your body gets used to moving this part of your body it becomes smoother.

thanks for the lessons, they are wonderful! x :) x

  • That is very true. Turning with the hoop can help with almost every move as it slows the rotation so we have more time to react.

    ~ SaFire ~

  • you are very graceful and talented - thanks for posting these.

could you please tell me what the song/album is at the beginning of this video? i love the sound and would like to buy it.

  • go firesandra go :P

    xx

  • Vertical chest hooping!! You're awesome at it!! how does it work? ;) :p

  • You are awesome!! I have a lot of problems with this trick. Everytime I try hooping at the chest the hoop keeps falling down. It falls down to my waist every time!

  • Do you use a lighter PSI for this and or what width is the tubing you use for the hoop...I think mine may be too heavy!!! OUCH!

  • I use all varieties of hoops but lately have been using some I made out of 1/4 inch superpex. (This is in this video) They are really light and flexible and great for multiple hooping because it ends up saving you a lot of space, both while hooping and while traveling.

    ~ SaFire ~

  • Where do you buy the superpex?

And thanks for all the tutorials, they've been very helpful!

  • Google for a store near you!

  • Your videos are absolutely wonderful. I've been hooping for quite awhile now, and I've learned more in the past couple of months by watching your videos.

Though, I'm having a lot of problems with this trick. When hooping around my neck I notice that my hoop tends to scrape against the top of one shoulder. I've tried ducking that shoulder low than the other, putting my shoulders back, and even using that one shoulder as a sort of push point. Eventually, this makes my hoop fall. Any thoughts?

  • Yes! Curve your back slightly inwards when hooping at the neck. I'm not sure it can be seen in the video but I lean back slightly to maintain at the neck.

Let me know if this does the trick.

    ~ SaFire ~

  • Thanks so much! It feels a bit awkward, but that solved the problem of the shoulder scraping. I'm sure I'll get used to the position after awhile. :)

  • Terrific explanations and breakdowns. You are such a motivating instructor. I've got down the 'one arm' & 'no arms' - but when I'm working to keep in on both shoulders I give myself CPR in front.... THUD THUD THUD. (I've got a broad back too. OOF!) Help please.

  • I have a problem of keeping the hoop UP around my shoulders/neck as it keeps falling down to my waist :( What do you suggest?

  • You are great. How much does your hoop weigh?

  • thanks for the amazing lesson! Was able to pick this one up very quickly

  • really really great tutorials Sandra! I think I'm getting better already, and it's only been...2 weeks? You are SO helpful it's insane!! I honestly haven't found any other videos that are as helpful as you.

    peace from Lethbridge

    --Jamie

  • Thank you darling!

I look forward to hooping with you at Shambhala this summer!

    ~ SaFire ~

  • you are suuuper cute and graceful! ^_^

    thanks for the vid!
