I wish that all of us contrabassoonists could play without having to gulp for air. I'm trying to play the same movement. I know how you feel. I make a few wrong notes too.
I wish it wasn't complicated on contra. Because that reed is so big, and my mouth is so small. I would like to have a description of how you circular breath on bassoon. I can do it on Tuba, Baritone, trumpet, T-bone, and Didgeridoo, but not bassoon and contra, or any other reeded instrument for that matter.
@AZWozzeck try this: if you want to learn the circular breathing seriously (like the piece 'sequenza XII' recommends) buy the book from pascal gallois!
The basic fingerings are very similar. The biggest differences are on the octave keys on the left thumb and on the fingerings above high E. The reed is a lot bigger and the instrument also takes much more air than the basson.
