  • Thank you williamg2552 for sending me info on the Miracles; I apologize for your not being able to send it to me through my page, I don't know why I wasn't able to accept it...weird...thanks again; I'll go to the link and look at everything for these guys..it is certainly long overdue, that's for sure!!! Oh, by the way; I'm sorry to hear about Davy Jones from the MONKEES too!! Davy is another LEGEND...

  • > 10 stars ( ********** ) PRICELESS <

  • R.I.P. to original Miracles member Marvin "Marv" Tarplin (Top Center) -June 13, 1941 – September 30, 2011 Chosen as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists and songwriters of ALL TIME by Britain's MOJO music magazine. A winner of the ASCAP AWARD OF MERIT, THE BMI SONGWRITERS AWARD , and recieved a STAR with the rest of THE MIRACLES on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME Marv....you will be missed !!!

  • Takes me back to The Arlington Skatium in 64...Yeah "I Like it Like That"..Thanks for posting.

  • Another One of my All Time Favorite Smokey N' Miralces Song ! Another great Dance song... Fast Dance ( hand dance ) Specialist here ! ..LoL

  • Marv Tarplin's guitar at the song's intro is AWESOME !!

  • The song was written by Miracles Robinson and Tarplin...not Holland & Dozier.

  • What a nice picture of the early days of Motown with Smokey and the Miracles!! I remember the album covers of these guys with Claudette when I was a little girl; this song along with this picture brings back many great memories!!! Thanks for posting this....MOTOWN FOREVER!!!!! RIP Ronnie White (the guy behind Smokey).

  • @shorty1ification ...And don't forget original Miracles member MARV TARPLIN (at the top with the guitar) ..he CO-WROTE the song with Smokey. Miracles bass singer PETE MOORE wasn't in this picture, because he was serving in the U.S. ARMED FORCES at the time.

  • @williamg2552 Oh, I forgot about Marv! He was a great guitarist; is he deceased? If so, I didn't know that. Yes, I certainly don't want to forget about Pete Moore; he was great too!!!

  • @shorty1ification No, Marv and Pete are still alive and kicking!! All of the original Miracles are still alive, except for Ronnie (RIP)

  • @williamg2552 It's good to know that both of these guys are still with us!! Thanks for the update.

  • @shorty1ification You're very welcome. Did you know that Motown has released a DVD on The Miracles ? It is still available on AMAZON and E BAY. It is called "Smokey Robinson & THE MIRACLES: THE DEFINITIVE PERFORMANCES". It has original 1960's performances of the group performing some of their greatest hits, along with brand new interviews with PETE, BOBBY, and SMOKEY. If you're a MIRACLES fan, YOU HAVE TO GET THIS VIDEO!!!

  • @shorty1ification Also, I was in Hollywood on March 20th 2009 to see THE MIRACLES receive their long-overdue star on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME.You can see clips of the ceremony right here on Youtube. Click on " MIRACLES STAR WALK" (By the way, the girl you'll see dressed in red is Claudette. STEVIE WONDER & BERRY GORDY were there , and were among the featured speakers who paid tribute to THE MIRACLES.

  • @williamg2552 I didn't know about the DVDs, nor the star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame for these guys!! Thanks so much for sharing all of this great information with me; I'll watch the Miracles Star Walk; I'd like to see Claudette, I haven't seen her in a while...thanks again! You sure know your Miracles history, lol!!

  • @shorty1ification did you get THE MIRACLES DVD yet ?

  • @williamg2552 No, I haven't bought the DVD yet because I have been out of work for 6 months, and every penny that I have goes for rent, utilities, food, my daughter's asthma medicine, etc; I have a potential job offer at Bank Of America which is scheduled to start in a week!! I will know for sure this week if I have the job, so pleeeze, pray for me!! I'll keep you posted because I would LOVE to have the DVD collection!!

  • @shorty1ification Sadly, although Marv Tarplin was still alive when Ifirst posted this to you, he died on 9/30/11 at the age of 70. The Miracles are FINALLY going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, but Marv won't be there to see it.

  • @williamg2552 I am so sad about Marv Tarplin's passing; I hate that he won't be there to see the group get their much deserved induction in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but I hope that he certainly gets recognized in a big way..

  • @shorty1ification They recognized his passing on the Grammys 2 weeks ago.I'm sure his daughter Talese Tarplin will accept for him. Check your channel, and I'll send you the Miracles Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction page.

  • @shorty1ification I tried to send you the link, but your channel wouldn't take it. So go to Google and put in "ROCK HALL INDUCTEES MIRACLES BIO" and it will take you to the site.

  • This song was a top 30 Billboard Pop hit in 1964 for The MIRACLES,peaking at # 27, and a Top 10 R&B hit, peaking at # 10.

  • From the Miracles' wild younger years. (LOL).

  • Miracles member PETE MOORE is not in this picture , as he was serving in the U.S.ARMED FORCES when it was taken. But he is on this song , because his 2 year stint was up by then. All of the other original MIRACLES are present in the photo: (clockwise from bottom left: CLAUDETTE ROBINSON,her cousin BOBBY RODGERS, MARV TARPLIN (with giutar),the late RONNIE WHITE, and SMOKEY ROBINSON.

  • One of the WORST things that THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION COMMITTEE EVER DID was to BLACKLIST The MIRACLES from induction, put SMOKEY in ALONE ... and REFUSE TO CORRECT THEIR ERROR FOR THE LAST 22 YEARS!! Everyone who knows the history of The Miracles and Motown will tell you that everything that The MIRACLES ever did and accomplished was a GROUP EFFORT...so they should have been inducted as a GROUP !! THE MIRACLES were the ONE Motown group that STARTED IT ALL !!!

  • Written by MIRACLES members Smokey Robinson and Marv Tarplin. This is The title song from their 1964 album "I LIKE IT LIKE THAT. It was released in the U.S. for a very short time , than strangely, withdrawn from sale here ,and deleted from all catalogs in America,so most Miracles fans don't know it even EXISTS. But it was released in England. I found a good used copy of the album from EBay U.K. Had it put on CD.

  • IMO, The MIRACLES are the BADDEST group of ALL TIME !! Their performance on this song is BEYOND COOL !! Especially with Miracle Marv Tarplin's guitar at the start,,,and the group's acapella harmonies at the end. It sounds like they had an absolute BALL recording this tune at the Motown studios in '64... !

  • OTHER GROUPS may think they're COOL....

    BUT....THE MIRACLES RULE !!!

  • Smokey is one of the greatest and the BEST Black songwriter of all time!

  • Where did you get this version of this song?? There is some extra on the end that did not show up on the album....

  • I didn't even know there was any other version. The last bit of the song is the best part of the song (as far as Im concerned). You actually have the vinyl of this though?

  • If you have an older version of "The Miracles From The Beginning", you'll hear the earlier version of "I Like It Like That", as well as the original single version....I do have the album.

  • @UnknownArtistX Yes, I do!!

  • Great! It's bin reposted. It's so cool. Luv to drive along in my aston martin to this track - it's just a bit of wishful thinking

  • That makes so much more sense. I tried looking for this track and it made no sense to me that such a great song wasn't on YouTube.
