Rock the Boat always came on AM radio when I was 8 years old and mom was driving us in the summer to Glenn Island in New Rochelle N.Y.in her 1969 red mustang. We would sing all together and get ready for beach fun.MemoriesMan!Thats what Iam talkin'about!
I am a 45 year old woman - who started going dancing when I was 13 at the Soap Factory in Palisades Park. Your mixes are the best I have ever found. Your really have capture the true club flavor of those years.
there's many programs that you can use. You can download a demo of almost any of them. The older songs are very difficult to mix because there was a human drummer and the beats aren't perfectly timed or spaced.
@DJFrankStallone I use Mix Miester, it has an inbuilt songslicer you can use to manually tweak bars placement, not a bad substiture for a spindle tweak :D
@DJFrankStallone - so true about the beats ... I'm a former club DJ from the mid 70's to early 80's and we did have our challenges ... but we also had the BEST DANCE MUSIC!
You bette work out. This is the bomb. I can not stop dancing and going back down memory lane remembering people and places I was when these songs came out. Thanks for the post.
I had a great collection of records from this era that lost in various changes of residence and 1 hurricane. Fabulous mix. I am very interested in purchasing high quality digital audio CD's or downloads of this music DJ Frank not sure how to properly contact you.... Keep it going
Okay, I have a question: that breakbeat drum track that opens this video... I hear it often in the breakbeat / house music I have. Where did it originate from? Hearing that dr um track on that opening song was a treat!
That is a great question. It's Apache by the Incredible Bongo Band from the early 70s. It's been sampled many times. Most people know the Grand Master Flash "Apache". I've heard the original at sports arenas and it was also used in a TV car commercial.
