Actually, going through fireballs is still possible with the shotos because of invulnerability properties at the beginning of a shoryuken ( I always use jab version for this for obvious reasons). Sagat can't do it as easily though because his hit box is still too wide, an example of this is shown in this vid at :06: no trade whatsoever and he's still on the ground.

Going against Gief fighters it's a keep away game, But this Gief fighter did'nt give Alex any time to setup a defense and got in close. Jab Tigers are Zangief's worst enemy. I was disappointed it did'nt get to a 3rd rnd. But props to the Gief fighter for going in and not worrying about getting Tiger Uppercutted.

Valle didn't perform it as a reversal, that's why it was stuffed. Watch the Kuni vs Daigo match, that's how you play O. Sagat against gief.

It doesn't matter if it is performed as a reversal or not. A reversal doesn't give a move special properties or anything, it just means that the move has been performed on the first possible frame after getting up/recovering.

The later you do the TU the more priority the move has. So if Valle had done a reversal TU (which had to be performed earlier) the outcome would've been the same.

If you watch the "ST (18)" Daigo-Kuni match, you can see Daigo's TU being stuffed by a splash at 0:03.

well, actually it got stuffed because the characters hit box was touched not because of priority (hence, you can stop any uppercut with a well timed flying jab or short). Having to reverse those cross up fierce splashes are Kinda like walking into a brick wall that is two inches away from your face.

I have reason to believe that O. Sagat's Tiger Uppercut has SOME invincibility, just a very small window of it. 1 time I uppercut through an opponent's hadoken, but that only works if you hit him as he's throwing it... same goes for the SPD in that same situation.

He did jumping Fierce, standing Strong, then Fierce SPD. There's a slight difference between the strength of the button used to execute the SPD...

1. Jab does short jump with 25% damage and 6/10th second lag if missed

2. Strong does medium jump with 28% damage and 8/10th second lag

3. Fierce does high jump with 30% damage and 1 second lag

By Lag I mean how long Zangief stays in his Grab animation when he misses his SPD. I'm not exact on how long the lag is, it's just an example, but the damage I left in my comment is pretty close.

As far as "which 1 is the best 2 use?" I'd only use the Jab SPD for combo enders and ticking unless you're completely sure it will connect like the combo Kuni used.

Actually, the Fierce SPD is pretty damn amazing in reach and the Jab is only slightly better. You'll notice that Kuni only uses the Fierce version, even in combos and he is pretty aware of the range of the Jab. As a rule: if you can touch them, they are in range for the Fierce.
