@DjCosmicRush i would say if you are looking for who you are and where you came from ( as a human) then you should read this book one of my friends gave to me, the book is called "the ancient secret of the flower of life". its a very interesting read but some of it is pretty far out there, you can believe what you want in the book but as it unfolds it all interlinks and at the end of the book it teaches you a very powerful meditation call the "merkaba". this helped me out and lit up my path.

I think you're being a bit over about the ambulance thing, I mean it just makes it easier to read doesn't it? If the first thing you see is the word and not the flashing lights.

I think, suing Mcdonald's was the SMART thing to do. The coffee was 180F in those days, and the Ms Liebeck had repeated surgery to pay because she suffered third-degree burns. Around and between her thighs. Where exactly is the *profit* in that?
@GreyLabyrinthine Anyone who knows the whole story knows that sueing them wasn't so crazy. The coffee served in styrofoam cups was WAY beyond the safe temperature (even according to McDs standards) and melted the lid to the top. She went to open it to put in her creamer and sugar and the lid stuck, then suddenly popped off, and she drenched herself in scalding coffee. Also, she wasnt driving. She was in the passenger seat, and the car was stopped. McDs handling of it is what got her to sue.

Even though each HIV test I've taken has come back negative, as a sexually active gay man, I am not allowed to donate blood. @GreyLabyrinthine Anyone who knows the whole story knows that sueing them wasn't so crazy. The coffee served in styrofoam cups was WAY beyond the safe temperature (even according to McDs standards) and melted the lid to the top. She went to open it to put in her creamer and sugar and the lid stuck, then suddenly popped off, and she drenched herself in scalding coffee. Also, she wasnt driving. She was in the passenger seat, and the car was stopped. McDs handling of it is what got her to sue.

On the other hand, you know the coffee is hot. Sometimes very hot. You're in a moving car, you know something might spill. On any other day, she would've been more careful, and would've tried to pry the lid open when holding the cup down into the foot space, or out the door, or window, or something.

Then upon further examination she found out that the coffee was significantly more hot than it was supposed to be, and that there had been other incidents. Anywho.

And still, all of that doesn't take away the fact that it's a "stupid" idea to open a cup of hot liquid while holding it over or anywhere near your body (and clothes...). So I understand McDonalds had no interest in giving in and "talking". It sure paved the way for the sue-culture and ridiculously stupid prints on all sorts of products.

If you google "caoc mcdonalds coffee" (no quotes) and click the first link you will find a more accurate account of everything that happened, and why the lawsuit was perfectly legit to begin with.

The "ecnalubmA" thing always bugged me. I have to wonder what kind of genius came up with the idea that printing the word to appear correctly in rear-view mirrors would aid in identifying the vehicle. Emergency services vehicles are pretty distinctive even without their lights and sirens going.

lol, hit the nail right on the head there. I have the misfortune of living in an area were people are so stupid they need to be warned that there coffee is hot and that gas is flammable. If they are not warned, they feel compelled to sue who ever they feel is responsible.
Example: Someone buys a saw from a store and cuts themselves. What do they do? Well, they sue the store that sold them the saw and the company that makes the saw. All because they can't figure out that it is sharp.

I think people can be stupid, considerate, and educated at the same time. I donate blood because I'm B- which is pretty rare, but I always get sick after I do it, so twice a year is it for me. With a planned going to get a cold/flu situation for the week after.

Even though each HIV test I've taken has come back negative, as a sexually active gay man, I am not allowed to donate blood. My heart goes out to your daughter, and I sincerely hope that she recovers from her illness. My greatest concern, however, is that there is a great untapped resource that is being shunned by not only my government, but by others around the world as well.
