SVT Focus exhaust comparison

I think I prefer the stock SVT Focus exhaust. This and other aftermarket systems seem to give off a ricey, tinny almost high pitched sound. I love the stock sound of my '03 SVT, I get compliments on it all the time by young and old people! LOL

the previous owner of my DD SVT took the muffler off and ran a straight pipe through, i have yet to put the muffler on...its loud and ricey lol

i personally recommend the roush cat back exhaust. it's what i have on my 06 2.0 liter duratec zx3, with the steeda short ram intake. i get lot's of great feedback on the sound of my exhaust.

No pressure increases as revs increase then you let off the throttle. Engine cylinders don't fir all at once, ad thus in a less restrictive exhaust you'll hear gaps between the exhaust pulses.

I like the aftermarket, but get a cold air intake and it sounds 10 times better. I should know, I have one.

it IS a zetec... Cosworth and SVT tuned the shit out of a zetec... quite impressive from the factory, but put a HFC or ORP, 2.5" exhaust, and stage 2 or 3 cams and she'll SCOOT!... about +30 hp from 500 or so worth of mods

Cams? there are no cams made that are better than the stock with out going full custom made but would be to much money and not enough hp
