I am an atheist ex-Mormon, and I still think that this song is super cool. The update to the music is pretty cool -- much better than the boring hymnal version.
It is often ignored by the ignorant that a characteristic or fault found in one is indicative or representative of all who support a particular belief. My experience amongst them has revealed a generally kind, generous, faithful, and peaceful people. They are not a cult, going by the false definitions of those who label them as such. Those who are antagonistic towards the Mormons cast a more negative and cynical light on themselves. They are not motivated to correct a wrong, they have fear.

Now I'd like to thank the Catholics, for bringing about such charitable and Christ-like people such as Mother Teresa. And the LDS church for people like Jon Huntsman Sr, who devoted his whole business to aiding countless cancer patients for free. Both Churches raise fine Christ-Like people, and we should bring out that side of both churches, rather than find some faults that some individuals in each church has. I recommend looking up "Via Delorosa by Jon McNaughton". Be the man in the middle :)

Mormon Satan is a spirit being w/o corporeal form, which seems to be the being other denominations of "Christianity" follow. I'm happy because we are having youth conference. I was taking notes and we talked about what people ultimately wanted out of life. The answer was happiness. We heard a story about this Mormon who went to his 30th high school graduate reunion, and at first he thought he was in the wrong place because every one looked so old from drugs and bad stuff. He was happily married, and when people asked what their secret was, he said it was because he was Mormon!
I respect all of people's beliefs. I am LDS and it is my hope to see all peoples try to see the things we have in common. We all want to be loved. I was Morman, but now I'm an Atheist. This song has always been one of my favourites. I liked the open mindedness and family feel of the churh, but after much study of my faith I found I had none.
Many members of my family are still in the church, so please don't feel the need to try and convert me, I grew up in it, so I have heard it all before.

I'm a mormon in the Netherlands (one of the few) and I believe (and know now!) that Jezus Christ died for my sins and that Joseph Smith restored the true church on earth. Actually, if you've ever been to a worship service, you would know that the whole sacrament meeting is focused on Jesus Christ and His Gospel. We most assuredly believe in Him as Lord and Savior, and we know that while Joseph was a prophet, he was still but a man, and he said so himself!
If they truly have been members all of their lives (as if tenure has anything to do with it) then they would know that we speak about Christ. I barely here Joseph Smith mentioned more than I do Christ and the principles of His Gospel. I have to question just how much they were actually paying attention in church, and if they were actually faithful members.

I know that on the 3rd day he was raised from the dead to loose the bands of death thus making it possible for us all to live again. It is often ignored by the ignorant that a characteristic or fault found in one is indicative or representative of all who support a particular belief. My experience amongst them has revealed a generally kind, generous, faithful, and peaceful people. They are not a cult, going by the false definitions of those who label them as such. Those who are antagonistic towards the Mormons cast a more negative and cynical light on themselves. They are not motivated to correct a wrong, they have fear.

Now I'd like to thank the Catholics, for bringing about such charitable and Christ-like people such as Mother Teresa. And the LDS church for people like Jon Huntsman Sr, who devoted his whole business to aiding countless cancer patients for free. Both Churches raise fine Christ-Like people, and we should bring out that side of both churches, rather than find some faults that some individuals in each church has. I recommend looking up "Via Delorosa by Jon McNaughton". Be the man in the middle :)

Mormon Satan is a spirit being w/o corporeal form, which seems to be the being other denominations of "Christianity" follow. I'm happy because we are having youth conference. I was taking notes and we talked about what people ultimately wanted out of life. The answer was happiness. We heard a story about this Mormon who went to his 30th high school graduate reunion, and at first he thought he was in the wrong place because every one looked so old from drugs and bad stuff. He was happily married, and when people asked what their secret was, he said it was because he was Mormon!

How could you all say that!!! I'm a mormon in the Netherlands (one of the few) and I believe (and know now!) that Jezus Christ died for my sins and that Joseph Smith restored the true church on earth. Jezus is a God and did what no one else could do,. There is no way that mormon say that Joseph Smith is more important than Jezus Christ.
What else is not valid in your opinion?

Actually, if you've ever been to a worship service, you would know that the whole sacrament meeting is focused on Jesus Christ and His Gospel. We most assuredly believe in Him as Lord and Savior, and we know that while Joseph was a prophet, he was still but a man, and he said so himself!

I barely here Joseph Smith mentioned more than I do Christ and the principles of His Gospel. And actually, the translations and a paper copy of part of the plates was taken to a professional and he said it was the best translation he'd ever seen. But when Martin Harris told the translator that the plates were being translated by the power of God, the translator said that there's no such thing as miracles anymore, and he ripped the certificate up, just because he was so hardhearted.

I suggest you read your Bible and see that the Isrealites themselves had slaves. Also, that God is not a respecter of persons and that those who work righteousness are accepted by him.
The curse was seperation from God and the righteous. The skin color was more of a marker so that the righteous Nephites would not mingle with the Lamanites and apostasize/be led into disbelief. Remember that the Lamanites end up becoming more righteous then the nephites in the BOM!

@StorminMormin91: There are direct statements & their are stong implications. Even if it is not directly stated, it is strongly implied. If I say the shark went over & ate the mackeral. You assume the shark was in the water. It is the NECESSARY implication of the statement.

I think it's likely that they brought the Siberian-type DNA over to the Americas. They went eastward from Babel through mountainous areas. Ether probably did not know how many people survived the war. I think the complete and utter war was more for dramatic effect than literal. It would definitely explain the Lamanites' sudden physical change.
