I would have got the Cross-Bones, but I think they got it all wrong...the pinstriping is overdone, the back tire is wayyy too wide (should be 150 at the widest) and the apes are not my thing.

Now, if they bring back the Heritage Springer with a blacked out motor and the same beach bars (but matte black) and a single headlight - I'll trade up the day they come out.

Harley nailed it. To a lot of folks the skating is just as fitting as the metal background music. You old bastards whining about HD selling out should pop a couple viagras and go fuck yourself. C'mon sketch...I don't buy that. Been riding HD for almost 20 years now. I'm kinda liking the new Dark Custom stuff. As far as the marketing, let's face it..they need to survive just like any other company. So they're trying to appeal to a younger audience, more power to 'em. HD has been stereo-typed to the 1%er or R.U.B. crowds far too long. I don't feel they're cuttin' us old timers loose just because they're trying to expand their market base. Ive had 8 HDs and loved them.

Last time I was in a HD stealership I couldnt find the bikes I waded through the jackets,tshirts,chaps ,coffee mugs,hats,vests,books,beer mugs, chrome covers,sunglasses,do rags, the coffee bar, the baby clothes,boot, and across to the belts and leather beanie section,then,oh wait ...theres one ... The Crossbones only differs from my blacked out 05 flstsc in the larger engine,the bobtail fender(which I HATE) and the mini apes.If Harley had put a bobbed fender on this bike like the Nightster has,it would be perfect.

Sure...Keep telling yourself that tough guy. I've ridden my Fat Bob on a number of long trips and it's plenty comfortable. I rode a Super Glide for nearly 10 years and the FB is hands down a better bike. If you don't like the dark custom look then keep riding chromers but the only people posing are the guys who talk trash about other bikes on the internet.
