Worst final in the world cup's history. Argentina had such a tough time getting the final, defeating great teams such as Brazil, and Italy. Maradona's match against italy must have been heart breaking. Playing in his die hard fans club home against the country that loved him in his club level. This final was nothing but bought. That penalty was garbage, Argentina had a defensive position and were waiting it out to be held in penalties due to their recent luck games earlier.

Apparently, the argie's tactic in this game was to get a penalty shootout, as they had advanced on pennoes twice in '90. Guess that backfired, they lost due to a German penalty.

The keeper didn't foul him, so why should there have been a penalty. I don't think they should give weak calls like that anyway. It's a World Cup final. To expect the ref to bail you out. That's why soccer sometimes feels like kindergarden. All this stupid playacting only happens because they get the calls. FIFA should long have stopped that.

Has to be one of the worst finals ever. Only one goal, and it was a penalty. Both teams should have done better, Germany beign the 3rd most successful WC team and the Argies being fourth (italy are second, brazil are first).
Apparently, the argie's tactic in this game was to get a penalty shootout, as they had advanced on pennoes twice in '90. Guess that backfired, they lost due to a German penalty.
