Its about creating art, expressing their creativity through clothes. Im sure they could design for the everyday person and make something conventionally "pretty" but thats not what they're about! How boring would that be anyway
Yeah that's what I think too. For me fashion is interesting because they show what else clothes can be used for other than well, clothing ourselves. it can be a form of art which expresses what we think and feel, it pushes boundaries and since I think it's a form of art, obviously you can't where them in everyday life.
Well, clearly you don't understand the complexity, integrity and conceptualism of the more avant-garde designers. It's important to remember that (a) most of what you see on a runway is then sold as separates that are far easier to wear and (b) that for any TRUE designer it's not about putting a 'name on a normal shirt' and making money.
But, fashion isn't for everyone - it's fine if you don't like it, but don't show your ignorance by calling it 'retarded and goofy'.
i think what he was trying to say is that most of what is on the runway is not relevant to wear in a persons every day life. In my opinion fashion is a form of elitism. only a few people in the world can truly afford to deck themselves out in louis vituone and christian lacroix and the rest of us start chasing this abstract concept of having the "latest " bag or the latest scarf. It becomes truly absurd.
Which idiot dresses up like this.

Stunning styles; always artful and etherial while dramatic and filled with movement. Thanks for posting this!

Fashion, like money becomes a form of social currency-people get secluded if they cant afford to look a certain way in that sense it is evil
