The problem with this rule, pnapier315, is the definition of "kit car". A kit car is something that you buy in parts and assemble yourself (or have it assembled for you). Technically that's more or less what the owners of these Skyline GT-R's did. However a kit car cannot share too many parts with an existing production car, or it technically becomes a restored production car with just a new VIN-number.

It's a fine line, and open for interpretation.
