YO I GOT A 5000 IM HAPPY WITH IT OTHER THAN I HAD TO SEND THE DAM THING BACK TWICE !!!!!! ONCE MY SCREEN DIED AND THE OTHER IT JUST PLAIN DIDNT WORK OTHER THAN THAT ITS COOL
We got to get her on the track...theres gonna be plenty of tricks looking to fingerphuck her real hard!! Pimps up Ho's Down.... THE MAD MAD WORLD OF CONTROLLERS! Had the 2000 sold it.. had the mpd24 traded it for a Intel Macbook Pro just ordered the mpd32 last week gonna use it with logic...Its all prefrence and as a customer its your choice what you want to buy and how your budget is. Give me a usb stick a intel Cpu i will flip it to a mac add add a controller and a good inteface im good!
Copped Maschine and a Mac book and it's like having my Mpc back but better. The functionality of Maschine alone is enough to put Akai on the "oh shit" list. Sampling is a billion times easier. 1 cable 2 units= my whole studio in a back pack minus speakers and recording. You can't beat that!
Plus on trips on train plane or in car I'm smashing sequences. Can't do that on a Mpc
@truthhturt1 But the downside is you carrying along ya laptop 24/7.. where as to beat thang hardware, you dont need a laptop at all.. midi controllers are good but having to brig ya laptop everywhere you go gets old..
The MPC was awesome. The Maschine didn't simply copy the MPC, it came with something innovative that was heavily inspired by the MPC. So what does a "legendary" company do to punch back and push things even further? They copied the Maschine. And by the way, didn't do it nearly as good. Sad when you have to say "Step your game up Akai". They should know better
@JBarber3d fact is we have been saying "step your game up akai" since just after the 2kxl... smh they had gone down hill for quite a few years. A lot of people don't understand why akai would do this style of "mpc" but in the end, at least they are trying. hopefully they find their own lane and we as consumers end up with maschine & mpc that are great.
I like your comment about them trying. Makes sense; however, anyone can make a controller, but NOT just anyone can make an instrument. Akai was a rare example of making a true instrument, and all they had to do was keep THAT current. Take your classic 2000, put user-replaceable storage in there (imagine an SSD?), replace the screen with a big, wide, touch-capable one while keeping the internal audio routing, and THEN charge $1k+ for it. I'd probably buy it, you'd probably buy it...
they have answered a lot of these questions, the big on is 1199 street price the studio is 699 and the ipad fly is around 299, yes you will be able to use vst in the program as well as use the program as a vst, as for quality i think akai is gunning for mashines top spot, if they do this right they can retake lost ground. thumb me! :$
@Amerikaten Not really. Geist is awesome (I own it) but Maschine does a lot more. Besides, FXpansion created a template to use Geist with the Maschine controller. How boss is that?
@tasherredenajetic What do you mean "How boss is that"? I'm only commenting from an end users perspective I'm not concerned with company status.
But anyway it IS boss when another software company can claim your hardware too. They are saying "We are cooler than you on your own shit"
As far as being MPC like Geist has it covered I'm not saying maschine is not better I'm saying Geist is also a good alternative if you can't afford Maschine or MPCR
@tasherredenajetic If you would notice the new MPCR software layout looks is similar to that of Geist. I don't know the functionality but it appears Akai caught wind of something FXP was doing.
I'm not a maschine user I use the mpc with Geist so maybe I'm bias but I don't like the plastic frail look of Maschine it seems like it will break if you hit it too hard
I think the new mpc is worth the price because if you think about it technically. All that has changed is the software. Instead of the software being proprietarily contained withing the mpc box its now more interactive on your computer just like I personaly always wanted plus it has some DA/AD too. I think akai will end up murdering NI and Roland needs to just stop playing and come on in stop being so proprietary
From the jump I always though maschine had a plastic feel to it. It seems weak and limp on the hardware end and looks like a toy. This mpc looks awesome its like a real mpc
It pisses me off that we still dont have time stretch. I mean come on, at first I was like "they must be perfecting the code or something". No, No time stretching for maschine. One thing that bothers me about your video is that you said that you dropped akai because they stopped making new gear?????????? If you got good work flow on a tool then they dont need to keep making gear all the MPC's before the last 2 they released are proven work horses in the industry with a huge used market.
@gabrielr79 I know for a fact that they've been perfecting the time stretching so I'm sure we'll have it very soon. If you know NI, you know they don't do anything half ass. On the last few MPCs point, you're right, but since they dropped us, I dropped them. I have no intentions on looking back.
@Musicalshootings The biggest, most expensive, buggiest and most useless MPC ever made along with the biggest failure Akai ever made next to letting Numark buy them.
@tasherredenajetic lmao.. aye the 5000 was a good product but it didnt have a issh load of features that a lot of producers wanted so i see where u coming from... Quick question @ tash - whats ya intake about the Beat Thang?.. it's hardware/software based, portable, samples, etc.. unlike mpc and its lame new products it's just not a midi controller..
and it has a few things on maschine from what I see. Also, I've never been too impressed w/ the sound form maschine. Now you may be saying, software is software. But to my ears, when I load a sound, raw or tweaked, Motu BPM's engine sounds better. MPCR got 60, 3000, and Other vintage engines via Hardware! Machines software emulation is WEEEEAAAK. We'll see.. I'm a hands on person, but my predictions about maschine when it was on deck were on point, so I'm sure the MPCR will be the same.
@tasherredenajetic How do u know any different? I respectfully disagree with your opinion and really took you view on the product MPCR as a honest assessment. However after further investigation you seem to have a horse in the race i will use your own words here to further my point: " I AM A MACHINE GURU". IM EVEN BUILDING A WEBSITE!!!!!.... The Tool is a TOOL it does not make the producer..... i could care less as a fan of music what instrument you use. Its about YOUR personal workflow.
@tasherredenajetic 2nd Just some advice... A great teacher shows a student how to use intelligence with practicality, Imagine a Math teacher pledging allegiance to a calculator rather than encouraging further development in the concepts of Math. Go buy the Akai products add it to your site and teach MPCR Workflow as well. Native Instruments and AKAI both have a base which is great for the musician.. it means better made products its called Competition. You dont have 2 pick a side lol LOVE MUSIC
@TeamBluePrint I'm still not seeing your point. But it's cool.
Nowhere in my either one of my videos am I fully promoting Maschine or downing Akai. I have absolutely NO plans to purchase, promote, teach or even use the MPCR because I know better. Telling me what to do with my time, money and website you're truly stepping over the line. If you'd like to see a MPCR tutorial site, handle your business.
@tasherredenajetic your responce makes no sense..As it pertains to the MPCR U know what? GT sells Roland and Akai why because they are in the business of selling what the consumer wants. They could care less about the simple foolishness just MOVE PRODUCT. If im promoting effective workflow tactics and overall production based education..Why im i using statements like "IM NOT WORRIED" about the MPCR LOL Who said you should be. As if you own NI. "All Akai has been doing is putting out Garbage"
@tasherredenajetic Lets say im a fan of Motu BPM.. there is no value in bashing tools that others may use ie FL, or Reasons. If i want to maximize your exposure you help folks who use various instruments... That is just common sense.... If you can or have the aptitude. I offered advice... you control you time and money that you are absolutely correct about. Getting a little sensitive in my opinion. Be prepared to face opposing thoughts when u present a opinion.

yada yada - look up mpc renaissance st. joe. Everybody shoulda known from jump as far as it being a controller. But it brings the mpc feel (pads and interface) to the computer software world, and I'm gonna make a prediction like you did, the MPC is going to be Better than maschine.
Couldn't agree more with what you say about the companies that are ditching the serious fella's, just to chase the bucks with the mass market iPhone users. FIne to diversify, but when you burn your bridges in the process, your loyal crew are going to vote with their feet.
My dilemma is 'Studio v Maschine', and thankfully, with Akai getting all excited about beating their chests at Namm before any of the new ones ship, I got time to pull it apart first.
You were right. I'm waiting on an email confirmation from a distributor in Bangkok. I owe you a big thank you bro. I've just spent a couple of hours viewing and reading up on Maschine and a) It's here, and now & b) It's mature and doesn't need the debug cycles that Akai inevitably will.
@tasherredenajetic I don't know bruh, from what I have learned this mpc does support vst. I has all the bells & whistles as mashcine and then some. Still functions as the classic mpc and has sound mode for the same sonic character as the 3000 & the 60. And it's standalone...that's huge! Mashcine is useless without a PC!
@TeamBluePrint Not me. You can't dump me and try to come back into my life when I'm happy with the next chick. I ignore you so you go get a boob and butt job, facial makeover, new wardrobe and expect me to leave her for you. Deep down you're still the same person just dressed up differently. Nah, I'm good.
I have to disagree with the iphone comment...i feel you though. I don't like the fact that akai and others concentrate on the iphone, however iphone and many of the new technologies are amazing and like one of the other commentors saidd, "its the man and no the machine" I actually rocked a dope hip hop cypher with just my iphone...i was taken very seriously.
I think its pretty dope that the new software could be used as its own DAW. This way theres no more dragging and dropping and one less program that has to be open.
about the whole iphone thing...i disagree with this guy.is it not awesome for sketching out beats and ideas??bring it to your daw and you're golden.think he should get an iphone n try some of the awesom apps.just have a look at some forums such as blip interactive's nanostudio and u might just learn somethin dude.times change, music making and production is going mobile-fact!and fyi an iphone is as much an instrument as a mpc/maschine....aren't they all just hardware?
@bermpadermp On the sketching ideas thing, I agree. The problem is many people are too friggin' cheap to invest in real equipment so they use this as an alternative. So far I haven't seen any of these apps have full capabilities and people limit their creativity with them. As an employee of Guitar Center for the last 6 years, I've seen this happen way too often. Hence my stance.
Soooo True on the iPhone... It's not a musical instrument, it's a PHONE.
For a company called "Akai Professional" there's nothing professional about making toys for a cell phone. Upgrade the Workhorse Controllers stop wasting time on junk.
I loved my MPC1000 but there were two big problems. 1) Making a beat on a MP is easy but tracking it out to a DAW is a major pain. 2) MPs can break down. The 'Main' button stopped responding on my MPC1000 rendering the machine virtually useless.
The only challenge in this is the software for the computer. How compatible is it? Can I hook up other MIDI controllers with it? I am a Maschine user and I will remain one.
I will cop the mPCR cause i trust Akai. They waited to long to do this but it looks like its finally coming. NI Machine i love but it misses a few things and im sure Akai will fill that (Maschine 2.0 might pop up just because of this) ill buy if the price isn't over $1000. If its not even useable as standalone I don't kno
I still have my 2kxl and I bought maschine and komplete ultimate. I'm not going back. Akai took us for granted. They thought they had a monopoly on the system. Don't fuck with hip hop. I got an iPhone, chill my brother. I wish the maschine had time stretching and the ability to record audio on the fly like the 2500. Would love to record live on a sequence thru Gtr rig without sampling. Just play the guitar whilst the sequence is running. Give me a heads up when your tutorial site is up. I'm alr
@musicbythebrain If I remember correctly the 2500 didn't record audio. It sampled, but you couldn't lay audio tracks on it. However I think the 4000 and 5000 did.
Let me say some things that will appeal to some common logic there are a lot of MPC users out there and yes Maschine came and filled the void, Here are some real fact's first to use MASCHINE a person that has solely done beats on an MPC must learn a new software and get used to a new gui (graphic users interface) if you know how to use an MPC you already know the MPCR because it sequences and samples the same exact way as it's hardware based brother's the question to ask will it work as advert
@tommyrblk As a person who owned 2 MPC 2000s, an ASR-10, ASR-X and ASR-X Pro, I was making beats on Maschine within 30mins. Sorry dude, if you can't take your knowledge of a previous instrument and adapt it to the new model, you don't need to be in this game.
@tasherredenajetic for sure. I been a software user since about 2003 and a hardware user before that. I'm looking at this thing like a bad ass beefed up MPD32 with the option if I feel like it to shut my computer monitor off for once and just bang out a beat real quick on the thing. Something I miss about hardware. SInce its software and runs as a VST it will be easy to run it right inside my DAW im comforatble with and add to it further if needed. Simplifies my setup adding more options.
@Equalibeats Truthfully, there's nothing wrong with that. I just hate the fact that so many people believe this thing is a true hybrid MPC though it specifically tells you its not. That really bothers me.
@tasherredenajetic im curious if the internal circuitry is truly of classic MPC quality. Like as if they took the MPC audio processors and just allowed you to use it as an audio device /pad controller and just put the brains on the PC. That would be tight but hard to tell unless you took it apart. Regardless I'm sure it will be a quality interface classic MPC circuitry or not.
It can be run as a vst. And it runs VSTs from what it looks like. Something about auto mapping of knobs too to VSTs. It's basically a classic Mpc with the brain on the computer. I don't think it's too much about competeing with maschine as much is it is bringing the Mpc up to modern times. Icalling slightly more the maschine but less then Mpc 1000.
@Equalibeats I agree with you. Their calling it the MPC Renaissance because it's the rebirth in the computer production age bur people insist this thing is a real hardware MPC. That's pretty sad.
@tasherredenajetic its hardware in sense that its processing your audio and its a pad controller...I dunno haha it falls into a weird category because I don't think its been done before. At least as far as sampler workstations go. I mean Its kind of hardware if you think about it..but if it were true hardware and truly a hybrid then it would also work stand alone computer free..
If this new mpc has the workflow of an mpc (sequencer-wise) as well as the quickness of a computer, it's goodbye to maschine for me. I'm not loyal to any company, I'm with what works best!
@OnlyOmari One other thing. Just because its made by Akai doesn't mean it will translate hardware to software flawlessly. I want them to succeed with this product but they have a long way to go to catch up to NI.
1:"Nobody takes you seriously making music on an iphone" - 20-30 years ago, people said the same about computers. I actually plan on getting an ipad for some of the synth apps. "it's the man, not the machine"
2: I also own an mpc, as well as maschine. Maschine did a great job almost fully replacing my mpc. I personally don't like maschine's sequencer, and it doesn't have timestretch. And I still have to use my mouse at times. This new mpc has all that.
@OnlyOmari If you can make calls on the iPhone, its a phone. Period. Secondly, I'm not telling anyone to not get the MPCR, I just asked the question will it be worth it. Maschine doesn't have timestretch now but I know they've been working on it for months and won't release it until its the best it can be. Keep this in mind, NI has been doing software for 15 years, Akai is a newby. Just a thought.
@tasherredenajetic but you can make phonecalls on a computer too. The iphone/ipad is basically a minicomputer. It has it's own applications, memory, and it's hackable. You can even hook up a midikeyboard and a phantom powered mic to them now. And I understand NI has been doing the software thing longer, but I feel akai should've made this move first, imo. I was expecting them to. Hardware is software in a box, after all. We just gotta see how it turns out
@icondetroit you can buy special cables to hook up midi controllers to your ipad. Look up alesis ipad dock, animoog, korg ims-20, and lemur for the ipad. Extremely powerful tools that can turn your ipad into a very powerful synth and controller.
@OnlyOmari can it run Ableton Suite 8 with the giant omnisphere vsti? I would love to have an ipad for a monitor screen that could also run the software...
psshhhh. i can show u some tunes that u would NEVER thought were made on a iphone or ipad. heard of Spacek?? Its not abuot what u use. people take u seriously when you make HEAT. nobody gives a FUCK what you use
The person that worked for Akia quit after the MPC3000 was designed, so everything after that was not up to par. the new person couldn't duplicate what was coming out of the MPC, so it suffered.
@djpugster70 With Numark owning Akai right now this statement speaks volumes about the quality. That's the one thing that worries me the most. I foresee people constantly running back to the stores exchanging these things do to cheap parts.
I Think AKAI followed the iphone hype, cause they thought they could make some quick money. They reaally need to get back to the point and making great hardware. Innovative stuff.
The Only people going to get this is the newbies and wanna be beat makers because of brand name,Real die hard producers and beat makers are going to stay fall away from this thing, why would get this high price equiment when can get a 300 dollars mikro or a 600 dollars manchine, and also truth be told apple is on it way out.Apple had a bad turnout at this years CES.knowing this,This probably why Akai is trying to revamped the MPC.
You right! Akai and Jordans (Just mentioning them because I just got the RETRO 14's and I can definitely notice the cut backs that they did!) and many other products have all lowered the quality and jacked up the price. The MPC 5000 was a BIG JOKE. Do you know anybody that wants to buy a A1-Condition MPC 2500LE 011/500. If so just hit me up. The 2500 is the last decent MPC they made IMO, It aint no 3000 but its decent. after that it all went down hill. Where is Roger Lynn when you need him!
Whats good Man, I'm from Jackson, Mi.........I usually shop at the Canton store but on many occasions i have paid for something at the Canton store but had to drive over to Allen Park or Southfield to pick it up. A year or so ago I Bought a second set of M5G's and I believe that you helped me out when I picked them up. Is Jon Newbie still up there? (Or is he at the Southfield store?) If AKAI does not come with the QUALITY They might as well close their doors. The Maschine is a very solid piece.
@nightlightscruize Even if I was to go back to Akai it would be a couple years before I did so. Judging by their last few MPCs, I got a feeling that first OS may be very buggy.
@pjb213 the thing that pisses me off about Beat Thang is they took so long to put it out. It was supposed to be out before Maschine but I just made it out in 2011. Not to mention the software version was garbage. It saddens me because I really wanted those brothers to be successful.
Akai MPC Renaissance priced at $1,499 is equipped with 8 banks more than any other MPC in the past! 6GB of sounds as well as all MPC 3000 sounds! There will be available in 4-6 months waiting list will begin in 2 weeks be sure to get yours soon!
Issues I see timestretching /work flow/how work friendly is this unit just because it looks like a MPC dont mean it works like 1.also audio tracks are way different from midi tracks..and whats up with all the Brothers in the video..are Brothers the only one they are pushing it to..to get the $...Talk about Stereotyping..look at the video maybe Im wrong..call it like I see it..
@komposa1 Nah that's not stereotyping, that's smart. When they released the 5000 the only demo I saw was a white guy playing creating techno. As a result of that and the fact the 5K was absolute garbage it failed. This time they're going after their target demographic like they should.
Yeaaah buddy, as you probably already know by now it can in fact use VST plu-ins and import them. I'm sure by now you've been to the website more than once since you released this vid, but I read where VST's was doable. We'll see how this thing unfolds at NAMM I believe its called. Be nice if it was only like $900 or so.
I loved the MPC because I didn't have to turn on my damn computer! Forget the fancy glowing pads and vintage mode garbage. Its another midi controller with dedicated software. I've used mpc's, mpd's, mpk's, maschine and they all do the same thing. This is just another workflow I would have to learn again.
@BoomLow Honestly, I don't think so. Obviously I'm not about to buy one myself but if you cop the MPCR why would you need to re-learn it? You already know the MPC. Just something to think about.
@TheRealBigapplebeatz I know for a fact they've been working on it for some time now. They won't release it until its the best time stretching on the market. Knowing that and trusting NI, I can wait.
Thhis issh looks beasty!! BUTTTTT nahh im good if i cant go on a plane and crank out beats without relying on my laptop then im good.. I dont want to have to carry around a laptop just to make tracks... If this product had hardware functions like the old mp'z then i would be on it like crazy,, but it does look pretty dope
Quality Control needs to be SUPERB along with software integration and SUPPORT
I really hope AKAI has been building this in the last 4-6 years along with outsourcing their software department to decent companies (Propellerhead, Cool Edit team) it looks like cool edit/audition..
@tkgored They do have a partnership with Ableton but I'm pretty certain they did everything in house. We'll see what happens when it drops. Thanks man.
i think i looks cheap i wouldn't bring that in club plus it looks huge compare to the maschine light enough and fcking indestructible. i think akai is really late whit the renaissance thing everyone moved to maschine since it was introduce; it solved all the problems that akai left and personally i think the software look like it's gonna suck, now to impress me and make me go back to the mpc akai will have to deliver the quality and soon. @tasherredenajetic you are totally right subscribed.
i have a maschine and it dose just what i need it to do, but the only reason i have one is i looked for akia to get in the game a long time ago but didn't so i broke down and got it. the only thing that's making me get the new Akai MPC Renaissance is the sequencer on the maschine is shit and if you every made beats before you know just what i mean.. the song mode is the stupid as hell.
@tasherredenajetic it is call "Pro tools" the industrial standard in DAW !! Renaissance and the Maschine are hardware base plugins but the Maschine is the best hands down ! all the bugs are work out of it and you can open up VST like the man is saying .you can use the Komplete programs with it !!!!! so much more ever one that is big in audio has a Audio interface for there in and outs and midi and so on and i bet mic interface is be better then what the AKAI is bring to the table !
@billythekid002 I agree the sequencer and song mode on Maschine is an absolute joke! I prefer to track my whole beat out as audio loops and arrange it manually before I use their BS song arrangement mode!
I know I am going to sound like old head, but I hope they are able to emulate the MPC swing in their software. And this comes from a dude who stared on software.
dude......you are right! especially on the iphone stuff...my iMaschine app has been collecting dust! I'm happy for this new MPC, just like I was excited for the Maschine when it first dropped...so knowing me I'll just cop both...I wasn't too happy with the maschine mikro....
All of what I posted has ben documented on there site. So on paper this wins over all but I will have to see and play it up close to drop the gauntlet. Out the box this should probably be the new KING. If not what it brags I'll stick to my Maschine. LOL!
YO I GOT A 5000 IM HAPPY WITH IT OTHER THAN I HAD TO SEND THE DAM THING BACK TWICE !!!!!! ONCE MY SCREEN DIED AND THE OTHER IT JUST PLAIN DIDNT WORK OTHER THAN THAT ITS COOL

I'd probably buy it, you'd probably buy it...

they have answered a lot of these questions, the big on is 1199 street price the studio is 699 and the ipad fly is around 299, yes you will be able to use vst in the program as well as use the program as a vst, as for quality i think akai is gunning for mashines top spot, if they do this right they can retake lost ground. thumb me! :$

But anyway it IS boss when another software company can claim your hardware too. They are saying "We are cooler than you on your own shit"
As far as being MPC like Geist has it covered I'm not saying maschine is not better I'm saying Geist is also a good alternative if you can't afford Maschine or MPCR
Amerikaten 4 weeks ago
@tasherredenajetic If you would notice the new MPCR software layout looks is similar to that of Geist. I don't know the functionality but it appears Akai caught wind of something FXP was doing.
I'm not a maschine user I use the mpc with Geist so maybe I'm bias but I don't like the plastic frail look of Maschine it seems like it will break if you hit it too hard
Amerikaten 4 weeks ago
@Amerikaten Haha!
tasherredenajetic 4 weeks ago
I think the new mpc is worth the price because if you think about it technically. All that has changed is the software. Instead of the software being proprietarily contained withing the mpc box its now more interactive on your computer just like I personaly always wanted plus it has some DA/AD too. I think akai will end up murdering NI and Roland needs to just stop playing and come on in stop being so proprietary
Amerikaten 4 weeks ago
From the jump I always though maschine had a plastic feel to it. It seems weak and limp on the hardware end and looks like a toy. This mpc looks awesome its like a real mpc
Amerikaten 4 weeks ago
It pisses me off that we still dont have time stretch. I mean come on, at first I was like "they must be perfecting the code or something". No, No time stretching for maschine. One thing that bothers me about your video is that you said that you dropped akai because they stopped making new gear?????????? If you got good work flow on a tool then they dont need to keep making gear all the MPC's before the last 2 they released are proven work horses in the industry with a huge used market.
gabrielr79 4 weeks ago
@gabrielr79 I know for a fact that they've been perfecting the time stretching so I'm sure we'll have it very soon. If you know NI, you know they don't do anything half ass. On the last few MPCs point, you're right, but since they dropped us, I dropped them. I have no intentions on looking back.

@Musicalshootings The biggest, most expensive, buggiest and most useless MPC ever made along with the biggest failure Akai ever made next to letting Numark buy them.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic lmao.. aye the 5000 was a good product but it didnt have a issh load of features that a lot of producers wanted so i see where u coming from... Quick question @ tash - whats ya intake about the Beat Thang?.. it's hardware/software based, portable, samples, etc.. unlike mpc and its lame new products it's just not a midi controller..
seanacemusic 1 month ago
and it has a few things on maschine from what I see.

Its about YOUR personal workflow.

tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic 2nd Just some advice... A great teacher shows a student how to use intelligence with practicality, Imagine a Math teacher pledging allegiance to a calculator rather than encouraging further development in the concepts of Math. Go buy the Akai products add it to your site and teach MPCR Workflow as well. Native Instruments and AKAI both have a base which is great for the musician.. it means better made products its called Competition. You dont have 2 pick a side lol LOVE MUSIC
TeamBluePrint 1 month ago
@TeamBluePrint I'm still not seeing your point. But it's cool.
Nowhere in my either one of my videos am I fully promoting Maschine or downing Akai. I have absolutely NO plans to purchase, promote, teach or even use the MPCR because I know better. Telling me what to do with my time, money and website you're truly stepping over the line. If you'd like to see a MPCR tutorial site, handle your business.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic your responce makes no sense..As it pertains to the MPCR U know what? GT sells Roland and Akai why because they are in the business of selling what the consumer wants. They could care less about the simple foolishness just MOVE PRODUCT. If im promoting effective workflow tactics and overall production based education..Why im i using statements like "IM NOT WORRIED" about the MPCR LOL Who said you should be. As if you own NI. Couldn't agree more with what you say about the companies that are ditching the serious fella's, just to chase the bucks with the mass market iPhone users. FIne to diversify, but when you burn your bridges in the process, your loyal crew are going to vote with their feet.
My dilemma is 'Studio v Maschine', and thankfully, with Akai getting all excited about beating their chests at Namm before any of the new ones ship, I got time to pull it apart first.

bermpadermp 1 month ago
@bermpadermp On the sketching ideas thing, I agree. The problem is many people are too friggin' cheap to invest in real equipment so they use this as an alternative. So far I haven't seen any of these apps have full capabilities and people limit their creativity with them. As an employee of Guitar Center for the last 6 years, I've seen this happen way too often. Hence my stance.

I will cop the mPCR cause i trust Akai. They waited to long to do this but it looks like its finally coming. NI Machine i love but it misses a few things and im sure Akai will fill that (Maschine 2.0 might pop up just because of this) ill buy if the price isn't over $1000. If its not even useable as standalone I don't kno

dame12712 1 month ago
I still have my 2kxl and I bought maschine and komplete ultimate. I'm not going back. Akai took us for granted. They thought they had a monopoly on the system. Don't fuck with hip hop. I got an iPhone, chill my brother. I wish the maschine had time stretching and the ability to record audio on the fly like the 2500. Would love to record live on a sequence thru Gtr rig without sampling. Just play the guitar whilst the sequence is running. Give me a heads up when your tutorial site is up. I'm alr
musicbythebrain 1 month ago
@musicbythebrain If I remember correctly the 2500 didn't record audio. It sampled, but you couldn't lay audio tracks on it. However I think the 4000 and 5000 did.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
Let me say some things that will appeal to some common logic there are a lot of MPC users out there and yes Maschine came and filled the void, Here are some real fact's first to use MASCHINE a person that has solely done beats on an MPC must learn a new software and get used to a new gui (graphic users interface) if you know how to use an MPC you already know the MPCR because it sequences and samples the same exact way as it's hardware based brother's the question to ask will it work as advert
tommyrblk 1 month ago
@tommyrblk As a person who owned 2 MPC 2000s, an ASR-10, ASR-X and ASR-X Pro, I was making beats on Maschine within 30mins. Sorry dude, if you can't take your knowledge of a previous instrument and adapt it to the new model, you don't need to be in this game.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic for sure. I been a software user since about 2003 and a hardware user before that. I'm looking at this thing like a bad ass beefed up MPD32 with the option if I feel like it to shut my computer monitor off for once and just bang out a beat real quick on the thing. Something I miss about hardware. SInce its software and runs as a VST it will be easy to run it right inside my DAW im comforatble with and add to it further if needed. Simplifies my setup adding more options.
Equalibeats 1 month ago
I'm personally very excited about it. If worse comes to worse it will be a damn good midi pad controller haha.
Equalibeats 1 month ago
@Equalibeats Truthfully, there's nothing wrong with that. I just hate the fact that so many people believe this thing is a true hybrid MPC though it specifically tells you its not. That really bothers me.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic im curious if the internal circuitry is truly of classic MPC quality. Like as if they took the MPC audio processors and just allowed you to use it as an audio device /pad controller and just put the brains on the PC. That would be tight but hard to tell unless you took it apart. Regardless I'm sure it will be a quality interface classic MPC circuitry or not.
Equalibeats 1 month ago
It can be run as a vst. And it runs VSTs from what it looks like. Something about auto mapping of knobs too to VSTs. It's basically a classic Mpc with the brain on the computer. I don't think it's too much about competeing with maschine as much is it is bringing the Mpc up to modern times. Icalling slightly more the maschine but less then Mpc 1000.
Equalibeats 1 month ago
@Equalibeats I agree with you. Their calling it the MPC Renaissance because it's the rebirth in the computer production age bur people insist this thing is a real hardware MPC. That's pretty sad.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic its hardware in sense that its processing your audio and its a pad controller...I dunno haha it falls into a weird category because I don't think its been done before. At least as far as sampler workstations go. I mean Its kind of hardware if you think about it..but if it were true hardware and truly a hybrid then it would also work stand alone computer free..
Equalibeats 1 month ago
If this new mpc has the workflow of an mpc (sequencer-wise) as well as the quickness of a computer, it's goodbye to maschine for me. I'm not loyal to any company, I'm with what works best!
OnlyOmari 1 month ago
@OnlyOmari One other thing. Just because its made by Akai doesn't mean it will translate hardware to software flawlessly. I want them to succeed with this product but they have a long way to go to catch up to NI.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
I disagree with a few of your statements.
OnlyOmari 1 month ago 6
@OnlyOmari If you can make calls on the iPhone, its a phone. Period. Secondly, I'm not telling anyone to not get the MPCR, I just asked the question will it be worth it. Maschine doesn't have timestretch now but I know they've been working on it for months and won't release it until its the best it can be. Keep this in mind, NI has been doing software for 15 years, Akai is a newby. Just a thought.
tasherredenajetic 1 month ago
@tasherredenajetic but you can make phonecalls on a computer too. The iphone/ipad is basically a minicomputer. It has it's own applications, memory, and it's hackable. You can even hook up a midikeyboard and a phantom powered mic to them now. And I understand NI has been doing the software thing longer, but I feel akai should've made this move first, imo. I was expecting them to. Hardware is software in a box, after all. We just gotta see how it turns out

@komposa1 Nah that's not stereotyping, that's smart. When they released the 5000 the only demo I saw was a white guy playing creating techno. As a result of that and the fact the 5K was absolute garbage it failed. This time they're going after their target demographic like they should.

@NinVibeSound Yeah, the 2000xl and the 3000 are by far my favorites.

i think i looks cheap i wouldn't bring that in club plus it looks huge compare to the maschine light enough and fcking indestructible. i think akai is really late whit the renaissance thing everyone moved to maschine since it was introduce; it solved all the problems that akai left and personally i think the software look like it's gonna suck, now to impress me and make me go back to the mpc akai will have to deliver the quality and soon. @tasherredenajetic you are totally right subscribed.

@MrNEUTRALBASS Some peeps that left their MPCs for Maschine will invest in this. I know this for a fact. The question is will they be running back.

i have a maschine and it dose just what i need it to do, but the only reason i have one is i looked for akia to get in the game a long time ago but didn't so i broke down and got it. the only thing that's making me get the new Akai MPC Renaissance is the sequencer on the maschine is shit and if you every made beats before you know just what i mean.. the song mode is the stupid as hell.

@billythekid002 That's why you don't rely on Maschine alone. I create all of my beats in Maschine then track out or drag/drop my beat into my DAW.
tasherredenajetic 2 months ago

@ray1411 I agree, we'll see though.

dude......you are right! especially on the iphone stuff...my iMaschine app has been collecting dust!

LOL!
