  • I really feel for these kids and adults! It must be hell to feel this way and have to keep how you feel inside a secret because others wont accept you. I am not transgender or gay or anything but i am an accepting person. I dont not like others because of what they are and for people to do that to me is disgusting. To me when people come out or whatever they are being honest you and themselves and people should respect that!

  • All the comments about how a child can't possibly tell the difference between a male and female is ridiculous. They were born this way and there's nothing wrong with it. Why don't you all stop being such paranoid jackasses and accept the natural and beautiful variance in humans instead of trying to fit square pegs into round holes? How does it affect YOU that someone else identifies with their opposite gender? It doesn't affect you so let it be!

  • @Number1Paroitfan97 (This is Ryn) You can shut the fuck up! I'm a FTM and I hate it when people say that they aren't who they want to be and I hate that people like you are saying all this shit about us so you can shut the fuck up!

  • At 2 years old, how can a child possibly know that there's a physical difference between males and females? Especially when they have no siblings of the opposite sex...

  • @LebPuppy Uh, because they're human? 2 year olds aren't that stupid.

  • @LebPuppy very true. i didn't realize there was a difference until i was three years old. before that i just kind of thought being a boy or a girl was something your parents chose for you and that feeling like a boy was a normal thing.

  • You can hate me, but I'm confused. No "normal" 2-years-old kid thinks and knows about the differences between male and female genitals. And no average girl is such fixated on pink-glitter-stuff. Something is not healthy there. It looks like a transvestic fetishism to me.

  • @ooOErzengelOoo its fine to be confused i think most people are. the main difference between a transvestite and a transgender is that transvestites dress in the clothes of the opposite sex and go out of their way to act like them for fun or pleasure, but they dont live as the opposite sex full time because theyre comfortable for the most part with their bodies. transgenders that are out of the closet live full time as the opposite sex because they truly feel that is who they are supposed to be.

  • Amazing, brilliant parents. If only they could all be like that. Awesome story.

  • ,,,not a faul, not a birth defect...A unique individual struggling with self expression in a world that lives in a box!

  • @ricosuavable you are one stupid piece of shit.

Im transgendered myself and my dad has always been here for me and has told me to not be a pussy or wimp.

But you know what?! IM STILL THE FUCKIN SAME!

You dont know what goes on in our fuckin heads.

So any of you bitches bashing us down.

    Stfu and listen.

This isnt a disease, hormone imbalance, or anything.

We were born this way we cant help this.

    How could a 5, 6, 7, 8 year old feel like that?

They dont know what half the shit means.

  • @KadenLynn of course 5 , 6, 7, 8 year old know what gender they are they do know when i was 8 i knew i was a girl, you should undersand that since you are transgender

  • I think is something to do with hormones when your born, and of course the brain.

I had a friend who was a girl but she had foot ball player shoulders because she had an imbalance of hormones.

  • If this happened in a sharia state, he would have gotten his ass lynched.

  • @jigglyfidda125 Yeah, darn the luck! They should have been born in a Sharia state, so you could celebrate over their deaths.

  • its weird, these transgendered girls born as a boy.. have girly faces anyway, so once they grow their hair, wear girl clothes, they look quite pretty.

  • THe only reason why this dude wants to be a dudette is because he never had a dad to tell him. "hey sun don't be such a pussy"

  • i didnt even know the difference between a boy and a girl when i was 2!!!! jeez im glad i didnt have siblings.

  • OMFG... :'[

  • barbara said buldge!!!!!!! lol

  • Thank You 20/20 for bringing this subject to the main stream audience. I hope it will enlighten the average person of our issues and maybe, just maybe, let one person see the light and change their hearts from judging us, to accepting us.

  • i really hate the term "gender identity disorder"....it really needs to change...transgendered people have NO disorder...it's like when being gay was a disorder, it's just who you are. it's like telling a child "you have the ugly disorder" or "you have the stupid disorder"...it's so condescending.

  • @saxamaphoneguy1 we can say Gender Identity Medical Condition.

  • @saxamaphoneguy1

Yeah I totally agree that the word "disorder" needs to leave that phrase.... It's not a disorder its a "BIRTH DEFECT" not a disorder.

  • chicks with dicks...XD

  • @rabbalaba that is transsexual, not transgender. dummy

  • I can not imagine what it must feel to feel as if you were born into the wrong gender. I applaude the parents courage and strenght to allow their child grow up as a girl. This can not be an easy decision for any parent to make, and a lot of them don't forcing the child to live a life that is foreign to them. Which causes other issue for the child later in life.

  • Jazz is so beautiful and w a y beyond her yrs. !

  • most parents love thier kids unconditionaly and chances are they already know what you want to tell them so dont be afraid to. my daughter is a lesbian and i can tell you i would love her and stand by her very proudly and i would never expect her to be someone shes not. you have one life live it to the fullest and thank god for who you are. be proud and stay strong. god bless everyone

  • but is there name for a condition in which someone feels they're BOTH genders equally, just asking?

  • The condition is called Gender Dysphoria, and there are four different types, including: people who were assigned the wrong gender identity at birth (transsexuals - FtM and MtF); and another type is where you feel you're both genders.

    :) Hope this helps :D

I'm FtM, I have friends who feel they're both, some who have a fluid gender identity (it changes every so often), friends who are MtF and friends who feel they are neither gender - Gender-Queer

  • Female and male brains are different, that´s a fact, so if nature fucks you, you might end up with being a female with a penis. It is as easy as that. Nothing more to say!

  • SATAN IS AGAINST THE CHILDREN. aND HE WILL USE PERVERSION..

  • How does a 15 month old know that girls wear dresses & boys don't? Puhleez! My kid always unsnapped his onsies too - what kid doesn't? Kids aren't even aware of their gender at that age.

  • Jazz is beautiful.

  • the abnormal psychology prof at the university i went to was such a douche. she had this huge god complex and kept saying that GID doesn't exist (as well as other disorders).

    she no longer teaches there.

  • how does a 2 yr old know girls have a vagina and boys a penis. how does a 2 yr old know the difference between a vagina and penis. only the parents could have told him. there is no way a 2yr old is just going to say mommy when is the fairy going to change my genitalia. how did he know he had a penis and not a vagina, the parents must have told her. so this is nonsense, there is nothing natural about this at all. one's sex is natural but one's gender is a social construction.

  • @Toriahsoulsista You don't have children do you? Gender is anything but a social construction.

  • @Toriahsoulsista

Children aren't stupid, that's how they know - especially if they have siblings that they take baths with.

  • is there a way for a 14 year old to get help for gender identity disorder without their parents finding out? Just out of curiosity.

  • Erm, I'm not sure. My local CAMHS place, told me it would be easier to tell a parent and have their help and to educate them at the same time (and I'm a 16 year old FtM). The NHS won't give hormones until at least 18 anyway (I bloody hate them :( I have to suffer female puberty for at least another two years which makes me depressed) they only give Hormone Blockers to under 18s, and when you hit 18 you have to go on a waiting list, some of my friends are still waiting and they're 20.

  • @EvSevyGirl she or he can receive counseling from school, but unfortunately if parents dont approve of gender reassignment, this teen will have to wait until she or he is an adult to undergo surgery. sorry :(.

  • Jazz is so fortunate to have such understanding, open-minded and accepting parents

  • idk about u but when u get through puberty, most kids would start wanting to become the other gender, they grow out of that phase but some do not and become cross dressers

  • @Arkenarge anyone who wants gender reassignment has to go thru highly extensive psychological tests and examinations to make sure that its not just a phase or a person's mental illness is causing temporary manic desires.

  • LOL That sucks. Yeah it's nature pms'ing.

  • ROFL , that mom was COOL! Not many girl in the world have a "penis"!

  • my heart goes out to these special children. may they find happiness in their lives.

  • I don't think it's taking it too far. Not all psychological disorders can be cured, but they can be treated. Gender Identity Disorder's treatment is simply to accept them for who they are, and help them to feel more comfortable about themselves either with surgeries, hormone therapy, or dressing accordingly. Ultimately the goal of all psychological disorder treatments is to make the abnormality manageable, but being abnormal doesn't have to be a "bad thing."

Hail to modern science indeed ^^

  • If only all parents were as understanding.

  • I think these people are very powerful. they grow up learning life lessons that no "normal" person could attain untill much later in life.

  • its stupid that they say boys wear pants and girls wear dresses yeah right! every girl wears pants even when i was a baby i wore pants (and dresses) even though i hate dresses now and like wearing short shorts and halter tops.

  • ...she was speaking in generalizations.

it wasn't meant to be taken literally

  • youre an idiot. sexuality is in the brain. its not a learned behavior which can be cured.

  • mjj,,then how do you explain Hermaphroditism? Nature has many mysteries and no rules.

  • Such good parents. Beautiful x

  • i feel like a girl

  • god bless these children

  • I'm really glad I watched this.

  • Thanks for watching Kayliha hope u like it. my lil cousin. learn something ok...

  • i also hope these people can find happiness, either by getting a gender change or being accepted for the gender they feel they are Colon Three.

  • i feel similar to an extent, i feel as though i was born in the wrong era, if only i could have been born 20 years earlier than i was

this is actually very interesting, you really cannot choose how you perceive the world, or how you are going to feel about yourself

  • omg me too! i wish so much i could have experienced the 80's and 90's thoroughly! :D but i'm happy i could experience the 90's xD

  • Hey guys I just had a question - does transgender (at least, as it is used in the video) imply an actual physical conversion from one gender to the other, or a mentality shift instead? I think it's the latter, though I am unsure. Thanks!

  • It can be both. It's just an umbrella term to cover every aspect. Most people define the physical conversion as transsexual, and there's relatively no mental shift, at least in the experience of my support group, and myself.

  • i have a friend with a transgender daughter once a son and it's a hard thing to deal with as a parent i was lucky enough to have sons happy as they are so far my youngest jayden is only 6 months so i'm praying he's going to be ok but my friends now daughter is still a good kid and still a cute 6 year old

  • i agree with drumstick, how does he know what a girl part is?

  • Comment removed

  • They just say your a tomboy and you'll grow out of it, and it is a phase in your teens then older they say you need to have a boyfriend and that will change you, none of this worked.

  • There are tomboys that are not TG'd people. Also not all who cross dress want to be the other sex.

  • I knew when I was 4 or 5 years old, but it was never accepted by my family.

  • Those poor children. Although very lucky by some standards, changing before puberty.

  • i am like that self... it's werry dificold:(

  • ru trans gendered?!

  • interesting
