The c64 version of this tune is my fave tune of all-time (by the maniacs of noise).I'm afraid the ST sound chip just cant compete with the sid original - Even tho the ST was 16-bit.It had a weaker chip than both the c64 (8-bit) and the AMIGA (16bit)...The ST's chip was very close to the spectrum 128k/amstrad cpc AY sound chips.Thats not Jochen Hippel's fault of course.Infact he's one of my fave composers ..Still nice to see what systems i didnt own sound like tho...Thanks for the upload.
@mulder3035 while it is undebatable that the SID had more technical capabilities, i actually prefer the simpler chips like the one used on Atari ST, to me its kind of a "less is more" thing.
Since the composer has less to work with, it's just all the more awesome that he manages to create haunting themes with it.
Like even though i'm a huge Hippel's fan, i find his Amiga tunes less captivating, the samples don't convey the same emotions.
Sorry for the long post and thx for the feedback :)
